Car Window Tinting reviews in North Potomac

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • It went great, I had to keep calling Bob back with more and more questions, but he was extremely patient and helpful. He came out the next day and showed us our options and we scheduled the installation right then. The installer came right on time and had the job completed in no time. It looks great, no bubbles or lines! I would absolutely use Artic Window Tinting again!

  • ,After 200,000 miles of road grit and interior trash stratification in my humble car, I decided to see what some TLC might do for my  uncomplaining campaigner.  Dropped the car off at Performance in the morning and spent the next 3 hours enjoying breakfast at a nearby Deli and rummaging through a used record/CD store.  Came back to find that my car had been transformed from a bedraggled  grimy toad on wheels to something approaching, dare I say,  a lusterous coach.  I lingered outside for a few minutes just to take in the image before me.  I must admit to being a bit reticent about entering the car because I thought that somehow by doing so I would break the magic spell and the car would turn back into the rag-a-muffin I had driven there.  But no!  The inside of the car matched the outside.  No more prehistoric sediments under the seats, no more possible victory gardens blooming in the floormats of the rear seats.  Best of all, no more reminders of late night convenience store meals that I regretted before the next morning came.  The people at Performance cleaned parts of the car that I had never even seen before!  So  hats off to the folks of Performance who showed me what my road warrior could REALLY look like with the right kind of attention and  application.

  • No bubbles, no gaps, no hassle.  Quality tinting materials applied with swift expertise.  Job was done a scant hour or so after I arrived.  Now my car is not the dutch oven that broiled me throughout July and  the first part  of August!!  Also no more road  or headlight glare. Yes, I am happy!

  • We needed the tint removed from our car to pass the safety inspection. It took longer than anticipated, which is fine since they did the job well. I came with my 13 month old at the time and had to wait around. We probably aren't their typical clientele which included one the day we were there mostly people needing DUI breathalyzers put in and some hung over adolescents who were discussing last nights party. Its not exactly kid-friendly, and better to drop off your car and come back for it if you can since there isn't really anywhere else to hang out, but the 2-3 hours we were there, it was good enough since we got a seat on the couch. Overall happy with the service.

  • When I called the shop, the representative was quick to set up a work visit. the representative said that the job sounded not to cost more than the minimum charge of $300, to which I agreed. Two men showed on on the service date fifteen minutes before the scheduled time, and got the work done fast. They were courteous and professional.

  • The procedure was painless and the product seems to be good quality. I can tell a difference in the temperature and glare in the room where the sun is strongest. The salesman/estimator was in touch very quickly, was clear with the options, and professional. The installer was good enough, but he was not the most professional in attitude. I would recommend the company to someone else.
Quick, responsive, on time, know their products.
Why it's not an and quot;Aand quot;: The negatives arrived with the installer, who whined about not being told there were storm windows (dunno, but I had made a point of this during my first meeting after an experience with a window cleaner). Rather than just note it and check the office, he let me see his frustration and started telling me I would have to pay more for him to remove them. He aired dirty laundry by bad-mouthing the salesman/estimators.
Then he said he would just install the film on the storms; I did not trust him to decide what was best for me as the customer. So I told him, no, I'll just remove the storms for you; it's not a big deal (and it took about 10 minutes total anyway). After this, he calmed down and went to work and did a nice job applying the tinting film.
Unfortunately he also carried on a cellphone conversation the entire time via his bluetooth headset. It was not the most professional way to do the job, since it meant i had to listen to his conversation. It also made me realize it didn't take buckets of skill to do this job... and start thinking about doing it myself next time.
Costs: I used a and quot;Big Dealand quot; coupon that did not cover many square feet. My main concern was to cover the sliding glass door, which gets a lot of Southwestern sun, and there would be enough footage left over to cover a window. This turned out not to be nearly enough, because you need to cover all the windows facing one side or the view looks different from one window to another.
    Things to know:
    • +Tinting changes both the amount and the color of light that comes through the window, not just the amount of heat. You can see the difference, although it's not that noticeable. You probably won't notice the difference as long as all the windows facing one direction have the same tint. I probably would not tint windows in an art studio or other place where true sunlight is necessary for accurate color; I'm not an expert though.
    • +Next time I would get a higher block on the sliding doors, which get the very most intense sun all afternoon. I would still probably opt for the lower blocking light on the windows so I can retain as much light as possible.
    • +The salesman explained I didn't want to cover only one of the windows in the living room on that side, because you could stand in the room looking out both windows and see the difference in color/light through one of the windows compared to the other.
    • +That said, despite what salesmen might say, you don't need to cover every window in the room to get relief, just all the ones on the affected (hot/bright) side, according to a Well Known Consumer Magazine. So, I have 4 windows in the LR and only covered the 2 on the Southwestern wall. No one has noticed whether they look different from one side of the room to the other in a year, and I can't tell the difference because you expect the light to be different when it comes from another angle.
