Fence Company reviews in North Potomac

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • They were able to schedule our job earlier than originally planned. The two workers showed up on time and went over the scope of work before beginning. Before completion, I was consulted to make sure I has satisfied with the placement of the handles. The final result was an attractive gate, the installers were skilled and efficient and they cleaned up all debris.

  • They were great to work with from price, scheduling, and installation. We had a new split rail fence with wire installed to keep our puppy in the backyard. The work was done last fall and has held up great. I really like the custom gates they made onsite. They look the best in the neighborhood. I would use them again.

  • The estimate was reasonable, the installation was completed in a day and per schedule, and the crew did an excellent job of cleaning up after the install. I am quite happy with the job, with only a minor issue with a couple of pieces of pressure treated lumber that were warped or visibly chipped. All in all a great experience.

  • Setting up a visit for a quotation was straightforward. The estimator inspected where the work was going to take place, and with knowledge of the HOA requirements, I received an estimate on the spot. Once I had secured the HOA's approval and the permit, they scheduled the installation within 48 hours. The builders were very courteous and efficient, and my new fence passed inspection with flying colors. I would recommend them again.

  • The crew showed up on time and performed all the services much to my satisfaction and I am very happy with the results. The crew was polite and left my yard in great condition. I have recommended them to a co-worker who also needs some fence work done.

  • We were pleased overall with the quality of the work and would rehire them. We pointed out a few items (split boards, placement of a door) that were not to our specs and they were quick to modify it/redo it. All in all a good experience. I would recommend them.

  • The Angie's List Guide to Signing a Contract states:
"The key to having a successful project is to have a well-developed contract that doesn?t leave anything out. Everything from the types of materials used to the cleanup of the construction site should be included in the contract. If something goes wrong during any phase of the project, both you and the general contractor should be able to rely on the terms actually specified in the contract."
    Reference: https://www.angieslist.com/contractor/signing-a-contract.htm
The provider submitted a contract omitting many details of the project, with a price of $3,204. In response, I drafted a contract specifying the project in more detail and addressing the possibility of damage to trees near the fence, with a price of $2,800. His response:
"Unfortunately we are just too far apart price wise and you just don?t seem to understand, I could just go on and on but one example is there is no such thing as a 4 inch by 4 inch post. You are demands are unnecessary and do not make sense. I have several other jobs and new customers calling every day. I just do not have the time or energy to keep explaining everything to you."
I drafted an even more detailed contract that completely specified the project and included most of the provider's terms from his original contract, with a price of $3,000. His response:
"I have moved on.  You are trying to low ball me and, I am already backed up two weeks.  Also, I do not sign customers contracts."

  • The crew led by Jesus and David were on time and they worked hard. They kept me informed of the process. All I had to do is obtain my HOA approval and they took care of the rest. Todd the owner prepared the drawings for me to present to the HOA without charging me for the drawings and his time. It took about two months to obtain the approval but Todd was very patient. He did not try to oversell. During the final inspection, the inspector looked at me and said; "they built a really good deck for you sir, this is very well done". I wish they did more than decks as I will use them again without reservation. I started recommending them to my neighboors.

  • A date/ time was scheduled for both the molding and fence work to be done. The day the work was to be done I received a call and was told that they had just fired a worker who had a poor work ethic and was deemed untrustworthy. Even though I had taken the day of annual leave from work, i told them I understood and would not want someone like that working in my home - we rescheduled.  The day we had rescheduled for the work to be done came and yet another phone call came, this time from the owner.  He proceeded to tell me that another job had gone longer than anticipated and he would not be able to complete my jobs as (re)scheduled. I was obviously disappointed and voiced my displeasure, the owner interrupted my comments to interject "you would want me to finish your job once I started it" I agreed yet said, I also would want you to fulfill your commitment that you'd already broken once. I tried to explain that the time/ money wasted when I took leave from work was extensive - throughout he continued to interrupt and raise his voice.  I ended the call by stating it was obvious he cared little about my side of the situation and refused to even apologize for the second time he was canceling my job. It became obvious that my jobs were simply not making him much money but in fact he was losing money, as he unwisely told me on his first visit to my home.

  • Very smooth overall.  Owner came to property to assess layout and they did a great job installing fence when we were out of town.  They sent pictures to show the work and it was as nice when we finally saw in person.  Keeping deer and dogs out!
