  • I'm really surprised to be writing a bad review, because Justin and his crew seemed like very good guys, and I was very accommodating in delays caused by weather school closures and his child care needs. I also felt I was being a good guy by paying him full with the promise that he would return to complete the repairs. Multiple phone calls, texts and emails later, he finally returned my call and said sorry, this slipped his mind and he would get right on it and get back to me. Weeks went by and he will not return any of my calls, texts and emails. So as it stands now, he has the part of my fan that needs replacing, and refuses to return my calls. Additionally, we have multiple nails pops in our bathroom ceiling that he was supposed to fix. That fix lasted about 2 months. Not a good experience

  • Justin is firstly a real pleasure to deal with. We have used Watkins Home Improvement multiple times including for; 1. New Kitchen with cabinet installation, along with double sinks, new ovens and double dishwashers 2. Building shelves and cabinets in basement, Library, living room, game room 3. Repair of external decking and refinishing teak table 4. Installation of multiple lights and fans 5. Repair work after water leaks 6. Custom built furniture 7. Repair bathroom glass door 8. Install flooring 9. Built bedroom He is responsive, and very easy to work with and takes our input with each project. He is more than reasonable with pricing and always comes back if needed. He also knows his limitation and won't take work he cannot do or do in the time we need. Justin the owner of Watkins Home Improvements is our go to person for all our work.

  • We scheduled the service after leaving a few messages to the vendor. The vendor never showed up nor called to reschedule it. We will try rescheduling it once more, since we paid the $199 to Angie’s List a while ago, and it expires in a couple of months.

  • The entire process from initial contact to completion was outstanding. Mr. Leal is a true professional. He responded within hours of my inquiry and made himself available right away to take a look at the problem and schedule the repair around my schedule. He confirmed our appointment the day before and showed up on time. He is incredibly meticulous, conscientious, and approached the job with incredible attention to detail. The price was fair and reasonable. He thoroughly cleaned up before leaving. I can't imagine ever finding someone that would do the job as well as Mr. Leal did. He is clearly every experienced and takes extreme pride in his work. We'll absolutely be hiring him again!

  • We recently moved to an older home that was screaming for a complete kitchen overhaul. We had never considered a renovation project this large before and we were overwhelmed at the prospect of starting. We, like most people, had only heard nightmares about contractors and the renovation process. We interviewed and received estimates from 4 different companies. We called Dan because we had recently driven past The Kitchen and Bath Studio and we wanted to get one more estimate, but didn’t know who to call. We did not personally know anyone who had used him before. Dan was the only contractor of the 4 with whom we met who came to our house for an initial visit within days of our initial call; I think he came over the very next day. He then said he would have an estimate to us within two days. I didn’t believe him because the other companies took weeks to get back to us. Sure enough, less than two days later, we had our estimate and computerized drawings of an initial design. Dan continued to be that responsive to all our calls and texts throughout our decision process and throughout the project. If he couldn’t respond right away, I would at least receive a text or email confirming receipt of my inquiry and notifying me when he would be back in touch. He was a pleasure to work with from the first day through the last. Our project consisted of new cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, and major redirecting of some plumbing and the A/C vent. Our project also involved demo-ing an existing wet bar, breaking through to a closet in the bedroom behind it, and enlarging the space to install a desk and built-in cabinets. Also, we needed to add hardwood floors in the kitchen and under the new desk that had to perfectly match the hardwood floors in the adjoining family room. The demo phase presented a problem that we had not anticipated. For various reasons, Dan and his outstanding team recommended that we make our ceiling in the kitchen even higher, which in turn would mean that they would have to add trim to the top of the cabinets to make it look finished. We are so happy with this recommendation! Our finished kitchen is truly our dream kitchen and it is as functional as it is beautiful. Dan and his team completed the project exactly when they said they would, which was 4 WEEKS SOONER than the other 3 estimates we received. No one can believe how fast they completed this project and the quality is top notch. Dan cared about every detail. And we can’t say enough good things about his hardworking team. As Dan repeatedly told us, Jose, Edwin, and the crew are ‘no joke.’ These guys are somehow meticulously careful and exact and fast (and clean!) at the same time. Their number one priority was to keep us happy. Dan called the day after the project was complete to check on everything and to see if there was anything else we needed or wanted. We will not hesitate to use Dan and The Kitchen and Bath Studio again for future remodeling projects and we highly recommend them.

  • We had a project manager to work with plus a two man crew who were here most every day. Electrical work, flooring installation and carpet installation were performed by separate crews who specialized in these areas. All of the work done has been amazing. Everyone who worked on the house was professional and an expert at their job. Requests/problems were handled as quickly as possible. They will be working on renovating our kitchen in January and then will do our basement area in the spring. My husband and I are so happy with all the work done. My one reminder to anyone embarking on major renovations to their house is to remember that it is disruptive – noisy and dusty for days on end. For about two weeks I did have to live mostly in our kitchen during the day. Also remember that sometimes changes have to made – so roll with the punches. If I could give them an A+++++++ I would. I will take some pictures and post them later.

  • Absolutely phenomenal. House to Home, and especially Daniel and team, are outstanding. Their price was a little higher than other bids from contractors that I had previously used. They say you get what you pay for, and it was so true in this case. The quality of work, the level of professionalism, the punctuality and the commitment to keep to a project plan and schedule was outstanding. As I noted, their bid price was a little higher than others, but it is 100% justified with the quality and professionalism. Imagine having a project that starts on time, stays within the project timeline, actually comes in on budget, and with high quality. Very rarely happens with home projects, but it happened with Daniel and the House to Home team!!

  • Omar came on short notice and fit me into his schedule immediately because we were hosting a party the next weekend. His estimate was half the estimate of that I got from another contractor. The workers were also great.

  • JW Home Improvement charges by the hour. The estimator gave a low ball estimate, which was compounded by the fact that carpenters were incredibly slow. It took one employee about 4 hours to install a replacement slab door in a basement closet. The same employee also took about 3 hours to add hinges to a access panel to a sink’s water shut-off. Both projects should have taken less than 4 hours. Unlike other home improvement contractors, JW Home Improvement does not arrive at the job site with building materials. JW's employees estimate how much building materials are required; and you then accompany the JW employee to a home improvement center to purchase the materials. Note that you are being $106 per hour the employee's shopping time. The initial trip to Lowes to purchase supplies and materials took about 2 hours, which was an hour longer than necessary. Then the employee had to make 2 additional trips to Lowes for the purchase of additional supplies. These last two shopping trips took a total of 1.5 hours. The employees’ lack of ability to estimate the amount of materials needed is evidenced by their initial belief that the shed’s roof needed a 100 square feet of shingles. In fact, the roof needed about 185 square feet of shingles. This necessitated that I make two additional trips to the home supply store. I also had to make an additional trip to Lowes to pick-up a tube of roof caulking, because the worker had misplaced the original purchase. I requested that my total bill be reduced by $633 ($50 + 5.5 hours X $106 per hour); and I received a discount. While the workers were definitely inefficient, the quality of their work was excellent.

  • Everything was excellent and could not have gone better. The price, quality of work, and scheduling exceeded our expectations. We will work with AG Construction on future projects and highly recommend others do as well.
