Architect reviews in North Potomac

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Mark was very responsive and attentive to our needs and he offered several great ideas to improve on the existing designs. Mark and his team were very flexible to work with and did everything they could to meet our accelerated timeline. I would highly and emphatically recommend Mark to everyone!

  • We were extremely pleased with the entire process and how well it went despite the size of the job. There were some delays that were not in his control (sub-contractors not showing up on time but did show up) but he handled them in a professional and urgent way and ultimately did not cause the job to run over. Quality and control really stood out to use because his level of quality and expectation of each stage was much higher then you would see from most in this industry. This was especially important because much of the project changed/evolved through out due to wanting upgrades with cabinets and appliances that needed to be replaced through out. Pricing was fair and right in line with 2 other bids we received for the job (Of course it went over because of the upgrades and changes we requested outside of the original estimate). Overall the entire job turned out great and I would and will use Frank and his company for future work. I would highly recommend him and his business to anyone looking for renovations and/or upgrades to their home, I was skeptical due to some of the reviews listed but very happy I focused on the overall consensus of Ruxton.

  • LindaRose Payne was great to work with. She offered designs we hadn't considered and help us arrive at the best design for our needs. We used Reico's installation program as well as getting the cabinets, countertops, and over-range micro/hood through Reico. The installation sub, Steve Smith of Smitty's Home ImprovementProjects, did wonderful work, was very careful and solution-oriented. When minor problems arose (e.g., a few couple of warped cabinet door, a granite seam that wasn't quite right), LindaRose was prompt in arranging for replacement and correction. We love our new kitchen and would be glad to work with LindaRose and Steve again.

  • We have been extremely happy with the work of ACT. The proof is in the outcome: our home is absolutely stunning, the work ACT performed is of the highest quality, and we will continue to use ACT for any and all renovation projects.
We learned about ACT from our architect, who is one of the most-respected modern architects in this region and who has worked with ACT on numerous projects. We knew our architect has exacting standards, and so we went with ACT. We were not disappointed. Starting with the bidding process, Chris was honest, straight-forward and reasonable. Throughout the project, ACT was prompt, reliable, responsive, and creative in solving the various, unforeseen problems that inevitably arise in a project of this size. Any time a problem arose, or we were not satisfied with any aspect of the project, Chris was absolutely responsive to our concerns and always came up with a better and reasonable resolution. After living through a project of this breadth and magnitude, we have come to realize that ACT's flexibility, creativity and reasonableness in response to unforeseen complications is perhaps one of the most important qualities in an excellent contractor. That, of course, along with the high quality and beauty of the work.
We think the end result speaks for itself. If we take on another major renovation, we can't imagine hiring anyone else.

  • Our neighbors had their basement flooded and used ACT. They knew we were interviewing contractors as we were interested renovating our basement that was unfinished. They were very happy with their experience and suggested we should give them a call.

After talking to several contractors, Chris Papadopoulos with ACT was the one that won our trust and got the job. His price was very competitive and actually more reasonable than others.

We were stressed by the fact we were to live through a renovation with noises, dust and people around the house, but I have to say that Chris’s crew did everything possible to keep us as comfortable as possible under those conditions. Plastic dividers with zippers were used and the basement vents were covered to keep the dust getting in the house; they cleaned the debris and disposed the trash in the dumpster provided every single day. They made sure no nails were left on the ground or outside our property. All trades went well and worked very professional. Their schedule was very consistent and followed pretty much same hours of operation. Either Chris or the project manager supervised the job every day and made sure everything goes well.

Nicoleta helped my wife with the design of the bathroom and the selection of both tile and of the plumbing fixtures. She did an amazing job.

The job was completed on time and it looks beautiful. We are very happy and will hire again Chris Papadopoulos if we need any help with our house.

  • He went into great detail with me and walk me through this house (for about three hours). He just found all kinds of problems, like mold, for example. He also found floors that were rotting. He walked me through this property and then gave me a very honest estimate for what it would take to fix it. I had done some house work myself so I knew that he was not glossing over anything and giving me the harsh truth. He saved me a LOT of time of trouble by not buying that house. Considering I would have used him for the job I sincerely appreciate his honesty. He is very smart and has a beautiful eye for design, not to mention his only using green architecture.
