  • I was told that due to the high efficiency of the gas furnace and water heater, I would need a stainless steel chimney liner to better capture the exhausts and carry them up and out of the chimney better. High efficiency gas units don't produce as much exhaust or as hot exhaust as previously older model units used to. Also, when he inspected the clay tile liner, there was a big gap near the crown which was probably also allowing condensate to get behind the tiles and flow back down the chimney down to the wall. I had them put in a new stainless steel chimney liner with insulation (you apparently don't require insulation per code, but it would help my situation and I wanted it to be on the safe side). This came with a new rain cap that doesn't allow small animals to get in. I also chose to get a new crown put on. I also had them tuck point the entire length of the chimney from ground up where it needed it. They were very professional and pleasant to work with. They even arranged their schedule to do this on a Saturday so that I didn't have to take time off from work during the week. It looks very nice now, and there is no more condensation. I was prepared for major clean up afterwards since they had to make the original flue hole in the concrete larger to accomodate the new combined flue pipe connections to the new liner, but surprisingly there was nothing to clean up. Very pleased with the work done! The price was also extremely fair for all the work that was done.

  • Great.  Work was done quickly and looks great.  The new bricks aren't a perfect match to the original crumbling "old brick", but they look close enough.  The new bricks should last much longer than the originals.   High's Chimney also came back (at no additional cost) and patched lower bricks that were hidden by flashing until exposed during a roofing job.  The chimney was also cleaned at no expense.

  • I have had the same experience as the previous reviewer trying to schedule an estimate. I called on Monday, Nov. 10, 2014 and spoke with a very pleasant person named Helen who said it may be Thursday before I heard from someone and that I should call back on Friday and speak with her if I hadn't received an estimate. I called on Friday and asked to speak with Helen. The person who answered the phone wouldn't put me thru to Helen but told me she had just found my paperwork and she would have Stephen Rogers call me before the end of the day. That didn't happen.

  • The vents needed to be nine inches away from the wall, but since my vents were touching the wall, the state would not approve this work.  I haven't had hot water for 2 days, and I have kids.  The technician put in vents and cleaned up.  Everything seemed great.  He was very professional and courteous.  I gave them my credit card, but they didn't have a swiper.  Later that night I got a call from my credit card company asking if I had approved this purchase, as it had been attempted three times.  It felt very uneasy about this and cancelled my credit card at that time.  I did a Google search and found they had three different addresses, two were very similar, just the spelling was different.  Something just didn't match up.  I called them this morning, when their website stated they would be in the office.  No one answered for 45 minutes.  When someone finally did answer, it sounded like it was a residence, as there was a baby screaming in the background.  I asked the person on the phone for the correct address so I could just bring a check for the work that was done, since they weren't going to be able to get any money from my credit card.  When I asked for the address, the man hung up on me!!  The technician called me and offered to come pick up the check as to not inconvenience me.  Why wouldn't they just give me the address so I could bring the check?  This is all very fishy and I am worried I've been ripped off.

  • Staff was professional, prompt and courteous. They installed the cap swiftly and efficiently and clearly explained the recommendations from the chimney inspection.
    When they returned to do work recommended in the chimney inspection -- sorely needed partly because we dallied on getting a chimney cap, partly because who KNOWS what the people who renovated the house before we bought it did -- they called to see if they could come early! Very impressed. They also put down pads so they woudn't track dirt in the house, and worked quickly for all the work they had to do.

  • As indicated, the technicians (Brian and Breeden) arrived between 9:00 and 9:30am.  They immediately began the service indicated above  and provided pertinent information regarding their observation.  At the conclusion of the inspection, I was provided with a detail account of discrepancies that were found.  Upon request, I was given an estimate on the cost of the repairs.  I will be scheduling a follow up appointment with this company to do the repairs.  Absolutely pleased with this company.
