    He is an internist and he uses that training to an advantage. I like him, but my wife went there and she did not like him at all. When things are going smoothly and he has time, he is a great guy. When he is pressed with time and a patient is standing in line, he could be a little abrupt.

    We have been going to this practice for 7 years. Always able to get in for a same day appt. The nurses are great if you just have a quick question over the phone. Doctors have had some turn over, but everyone we have dealt with has been professional.

    I went to get my prescription refilled, and I resent the doctor forcing additional office visits and tests every few months, for a weak generic cholesterol medication that I have been taking successfully for 8 years. I am forced to spend a half an hour in the waiting room for the PA to stick her finger in my a***, talk to me for three minutes to refill my prescription, then charge my insurance hundreds of dollars. Overall I have been a patient here for 15 years, and a doctor who has never seen me, or introduced himself, Dr. Thaker calls me to parrott their policy, and if he let me have a prescription without an office visit he would have to let others do it too! I am all for reasonable, necessary medical intervention, but this office doesn't mind ordering frequent unnecessary tests, wasting your time and money for their financial gain. I told him what I thought of his policy, and they are part of a bigger problem in healthcare, and I'm never going back.

    From start to finish? Well, I'll apologize first for this being a three in one. The first encounter had started with my calling to complain of a UTI. The soonest they could get me in was three days later. Due to my lack of going to a doctor for "anything", I complied. Three days later, I was crawling in, CRAWLING, because it had become a full blown kidney infection. No more than 5 minutes for me to painfully urinate in a cup, the staff to stick a test stick in it and say "yeah, here's a prescription", and I was back out the door. This had me very jaded with the nurses that do the scheduling, knowing what can happen if infections go unchecked. The second with my knees was both costly and time consuming with no results. I injured my knee in the fall of 2009, but 'invincible me' didn't go in until 7 months later. The doctor sat me down, looked me in the eye, the ENTIRE time (literally, he didn't even look at the very specific spots I was pointing to on my knee) and said it was a torn miniscus. To be sure, he ordered an x-ray, which was done incorrectly. They contacted me to order an MRI, which showed nothing. I was unaware, the results went back to Parkview and no one contacted me. I had to call to hear they wanted to order another. For some reason unknown to me still, I went for a second. Again, they never called with results. I, again, had to call to hear what I was expecting... "We dunno." I finally called a different practitioner and asked Parkview to fax all paperwork to this office due to the very quick timespan the new doctor could actually get me in. Parkview never did. I had called them three times about this. Despite Parkview's inept behavior, the new doctor LOOKED at my knee, touched the painful spot knowing it would hurt with a smirk only a doctor can wear, said "patellar tendonitis", recommended a therapy, and I have had no problem with my knee since. Parkview only complied when I called them with a voice laced with near rage demanding that all films, paperwork, and charts for my knee be at the front desk the next morning. Imagine my surprise when they actually called at 7am that next morning stating all I had asked for was ready and waiting. This debacle was not only irritating for me knee, but stressful when I realized my health insurance was questioning Parkview's methods, the FMH system was contacting me, and I was the middle man in some muddled mess of confusing calls and requests. The third was nowhere near as costly or painful as the other two. For some reason for a few weeks, I had been lethargic, feeling run down, I don't have an unhealthy diet or changed my schedule in any way to interfere with my normal routine, so i scheduled an appointment to try to get some results. The answer I was given wasn't an upbeat "let's get to the bottom of this with a few simple tests!" The doctor literally said "I dunno." Breaking point. I will never deal with Parkview again, or the Frederick Memorial Healthcare system. They bounce patients from location to location to run un-necessary tests, the doctors do not listen well, and the turnaround of doctors in their office makes me uncomfortable when I find one I like, and they leave for no reason. I do not recommend this group. I will gladly travel 35 miles OUT OF MY WAY to go to another doctor.
