  • I rarely write reviews, but I felt I had to for Aqua Star and Steve. 
    I can't say enough about how great he was and the awesome job Aqua Star did for me.  They removed years of caked on mold and dirt and went above and beyond to help me out.  The did beautiful work and I couldn't be happier.  I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for someone you can trust to get the job done right.

  • It went okay. I had lined them up, it took them a while to get there and there was a question whether they came back and put the sealant on, but eventually I determined that they did. I didn't realize that they were going to be putting on a clear sealant, so it doesn't look like it's on. It eventually got done. It took a little longer than I had planned, but it did get done. The price went way higher than $149. That was for a limited size for the deck. I think the bill ended up being about $600 or something. They were okay actually. To get an "A" they needed to be quicker, to be clear on when they were going to come back and do the seal coating. Thirdly, they needed to let me know that it was going to be a clear seal coating and I wouldn't be able to tell that it was on without pouring water on the deck and seeing it bead up, which is what I ended up having to do. I wasn't aware that's how it was going to come out. I thought it was going to be a lot more visible. I would probably check around a little bit before using them again, but I wouldn't necessarily not use them. They ended up doing an okay job. It was just confusing and not the best communication in the world. They were a little untimely, but not like another company that took forever.

  • Steve was great.  They were able to come a day earlier than expected due to the weather, but checked to make sure that would be okay.  We are very happy with the job he did and will look forward to using them again in the future.

  • A representative came to the house the day before the work was to be done. She surveyed the area that needed fixing and then we got a call at the end of the day informing us that the technician would be coming between 10 and 11 am.  Two men showed up on time.  The person who appeared to be the one in charge had a very nasty attitude.  Originally my wife and I were going to do the work, we watched a YOUTUBE video and attempted the repair after purchasing the materials.  We were not aware that the siding we had bought was the wrong type.  He made a snide remark that he should have learned from his past mistakes of trusting the homeowners to purchase the correct materials.  We told him to fix the decking and that he could purchase the siding at a later time.  He stated that he was a "professional" and would not accomplish only part of the work.  We asked if he could purchase the correct materials and he just walked off mumbling to himself that he should have learned his lesson.
    We have used a lot of handyman services, professional services etc and have never encountered someone with such a nasty attitude.  I will admit that we wanted for him to do the work anyway, but he refused to do a less than PERFECT job. We can understand his professionalism was at stake, but he could have been professional and thoughtful.  
    For someone in a customer relations activity, he should have approached the situation in a better manner.
    We would NEVER use this company and would advise our friends, family and neighbors to do the same.

  • I contacted CertaPro Painters and made an appointment for an estimate on the folloing day. Mr. Stears came at the exact time of the appointment, quickly and thoroughly reviewed the work to be done.  He said he would provide me with an estimate before the end of the week.  His estimate arrived via eMail within three days. The work was scheduled to accommodat my needs. Two CertaPro painters arrived early on the scheduled date. On the first day the garrage drywall was cleaned and patched including replacing joint tape on the ceiling. The garrage walls, ceiling, two walk in doors and two windows were given two coats of satin white paint. The wooden deck was also power washed. The CertaPro painters did not return the next day due to rain. On the third day they returned and painted the deck with solid color stain. The CertaPro painters did an excellent job, the garrage looks better than when the house was new and the paint edges where the deck was attached to the house were sharp and no paint was on the building's siding.

  • Jeff and his crew did a great job on the deck. Removing the old stain was a difficult task, but they worked hard at it.  It wasn't possible to get it all off, but the hardwood looks much better and is closer to its natural beauty again.  All were polite and friendly.  A good experience and we're very pleased with the result.

  • Jeff Peters, the company owner, came to the house and gave a quote on both jobs which we accepted.  We felt the price was reasonable for the work that would be done.  His crew of one came out to begin the pressure washing portion of the contract.  The job was done well  to include pressure washing the soffits all the way around the house, which was included in the contract.  There were some areas that needed to be re-done but, once complete, it was done to our satisfaction.  A crew of two returned several days later to perform the staining portion on the decking.   The staining was completed in a day but we became concerned on the outset by the color of the stain.  Our understanding was that the stain would be clear, allowing the natural color of the wood to be seen.  However, once they began the job, we were worried that the color was wrong. We hoped that maybe it just looked darker than we expected because it was wet, until we saw one of the workers adding color to the stain.  At that point the job was nearly complete.  (It turned out, the employee misunderstood Jeff's instructions regarding the color addition.) Additionally,  towards the end of the day, as the smaller side deck was completed, we were struck by a horiffic summer storm to include tornado warnings.  There was no time to inspect the job and the crew barely got their equipment packed up when the downpour began..  Within minutes after they left we could tell that the rain was washing the stain away. Once the rain stopped and we were able to inspect the job we found several deficiencies that needed to be addressed besides just the color. We called Jeff the next day and he came out to inspect the job.  He agreed that the stain had in fact washed away with the rain and he was very disappointed in the all around workmanship of the stain job, as were we.  In the end, Jeff himself came out and worked with his crew to make it right.  The color of the deck couldn't be changed but Jeff promised that it would lighten up with time, which it already has. In the end, he stood behind his work and didn't leave until we were satisfied.  THAT is customer service!  We absolutely will use this company again.

    The Pros - The estimator came out and looked at my deck and gave a demonstration of how their deck cleaning system works. He told me the manager would have to give the estimate based on the evaluation made by him. (My deck is in generally good condition - just need maintenance) I got an estimate within two days. The price was far better than the other companies I got quotes from, one of which I had used several times. Once I placed a deposit after receiving the agreement a date was set. What impressed me the most about Deckmasters was their communication with the customer about delays. My past experiences with other contractors was no call, no show and then lame excuses for why they did not come or call. When it came time to do the work the weather was not cooperative and I was informed promptly of having to re-schedule the service. After two reschedulings due to stormy weather they came the day and time they said they would and did the job in 4 hours. They had to come back after letting the deck dry out thoroughly to seal the deck a couple of days later. They came out and finished it up as promised on the day they say they would. My deck has never looked this good in the ten years I;ve lived in this house. The roof looks almost new and all of the moss was removed.
