    Peepers Family Eye Care
Dr. Grey is great. He is very professional, personable and pleasant. Very knowledgeable in prescribing and making glasses. Over 50 years using glasses, he provide the best glasses where in he identify and give the most accurate prescription. He's done it 3 times and I'm already using him for 4 years.

    Pearle Vision - Laurel
Explained the situation to the doctor (that I had laser surgery) and needed her to complete MD MVA form.  She was more than helpful, very efficient.  The staff was excellent in scheduling the appointment, calling my insurance to determine what/how much was covered for services/eye glasses, and went the extra mile to help me choose glasses to my preference.  They did not waste my time.

Dr. Adam Wenick operated on my daughter when she had an emergency retina tear. I've seen him 2-3 times myself, and am exceptionally pleased with his work. It is hard to get a regular appointment there, though (that's why there's a B in availability)

    Dr TThompson & Sjarda
It was a typical doctor's appointment. I waited a little longer than you would like. But, they're a good practice. I preferred to go there versus another eye doctor because of their professional expertise.

I had a little trouble understanding the form everyone fills out. It asks if you want a and quot;refractionand quot;, and I thought it meant dilation, so once we got that straightened out I was able to make an appointment down the road for the dilation, when my husband could drive me home afterwards. I still don't know what the refraction is, but it does help them diagnose a better prescription than without it.

    MyEyeDr. - Columbia
All the staff were friendly, professional, and efficient.
My interaction with the doctor was brief, but professional. I was impressed by the speed with which they saw me, but a little less impressed when I felt a bit rushed through my own appointment.
Things got worse from there. They said they HAD to order contacts for me that day in order for my insurance to cover the exam, but that was problematic because they were putting me in toric lenses for the first time, and I really needed to do a trial period with them to be sure they would be okay. They said that that was okay, and if I didn't like them they could send them back and get me something else.
But when I got home and did a little research, I discovered that the brand they had given me was NOT covered by my insurance. There were other brands that were, they just didn't bother to check my insurance's list, apparently? Or if they did they never offered me any options.
I figured out which brand was covered, and though they were happy to give me a trial set, they couldn't seem to figure out how my insurance worked to order me the amount I needed in that kind. This was because this new kind was daily replacements, and while they correctly understood that my insurance didn't cover a full year's worth of daily wear lenses, they DIDN'T understand that I had BOTH a contacts allowance AND a glasses allowance, and that they could use the glasses allowance to just order additional contacts so that I would have enough. I confirmed this with my insurance company, but the billing people at My Eye Dr. just didn't believe me.
Finally, I thought I got someone to understand when she spent some time on the phone with my insurance company while I was there, though she was salty and incredulous with me the whole time. However, finally she said she would order the contacts and that they would be in within a week, but two weeks later, I called back and someone else informed me that they hadn't even been ordered yet.
At that point I gave up and just went with the contacts they had originally recommended, even though they weren't covered by my insurance, because by that point, I was running out and just needed something quickly.
So, their medical care was fine, but their claim that they are the and quot;insurance specialistsand quot; is laughable. I know I have a premium plan, but what is so hard to understand about that?!
    I won't be back.

    LensCrafters - Columbia
Optician and assistants were nice and attentive, appointment was quick and minimal wait. Majority of the employees at Lenscrafters were helpful especially since their computers were down. However, there was one woman who I was really put off by, she was right next to my husband and I and never asked to help or if we selected our glasses. The other employee was helping another customer, but when she finished she was really nice and helped me purchase my two pairs of glasses. She was really nice and helpful even with having to do it all by hand.

    Wexler, Dr. Jeffrey L.
He's good and has an efficient office. He makes a very good use of his assistance like getting everything prep and everything done before he comes in and look at you, very nice operation. I have an appointment again with him.

    Garcia, Dr. Ivan H
My optometrist advised that I get cataract surgery (I'm a 65 year-old male) and referred Dr. Garcia. He's part of a larger practice called Omni Eye Specialist. They have several offices around Baltimore. I chose Glen Burnie although I live closer to Washington. Any way the lead time to see him was maybe as long as three months, partly because he only sees patients at Glen Burnie maybe once a week. Dr. Garcia is pleasant enough, not a lot of back-and-forth with me; he's all business, which I like. With other patients I've seen him engage a little more.
Anyway he agreed that I needed the surgery and we scheduled it for the left eye in Oct 2012 and the right eye a month later. The surgery center is located in Towson and you'll need someone to drive you there and back. Pre-op, the surgery itself and post-op were uneventful. And afterward, after my eyes adjusted, I can't describe the difference. It's like I had been looking through a hazy yellow film for the last 30 years. Lights were brighter, colors more saturated and finely-detailed objects stood out in relief. I was thoroughly pleased. I don't remember what it cost but it wasn't that expensive, considering. Insurance took care of most of it. I schedule my six-month follow-up visits in Glen Burnie, but not with him simply because our schedules don't mesh.
Based on my experience I encouraged my sister to get the procedure done. Instead of Garica she wanted to go to the hospital where she had worked for 30 years and retired from because it would be no cost. I reasoned why take chances but she insisted. Sure enough, it did not go well. She was heavily bandaged afterward and could not see well out of the affected eye when the bandages came off. Her doctor was not forthcoming with a logical explanation so I insisted we see Dr. Garcia. Without directly saying so (he said and quot;complicationsand quot;) he intimated that the doctor had indeed botched the operation. I would like to say that Dr. Garcia performed a miracle and restored her eyesight, but in truth he did the best he could and while her vision is improved, it is not what it was.
I won't rate Dr. Garcia A across the board. He and his office are competent and efficient, for the most part, but sometimes he will ask you questions that he's asked before and the info is in your chart (they take copious notes during examinations). If you are Baltimore-centric, by all means he's your guy. For Washington people he's a little far afield. I'm sure there are several top-flight opthamologists in the region and Dr. Ivan Garcia is surely one.

    Eagle Eye Care
My glasses never seemed to fit properly. They were loose and didn't seem to fit well. It was adjusted a few times but they still would end up crooked across my face. I was told one ear may be lower than the other! I liked the company okay but would try someone else next time.
