    Omar's General Contracting
Omar's General Contracting received the bid when our hot water heater flooded our basement in 2018. From start to finish, the work was done well, and we are extremely happy with the finished basement. The quality workmanship is obvious even in the smallest details. Omar himself offered a range of options with different price points, but never pressured us to add on "extras." Omar's work crews were always helpful and polite, and were flexible enough to take our wishes into consideration where possible. The company obviously values safe work practices and kept the site clean and free of hazards and debris at all times. The subcontracted work was absolutely up to our specifications. We will hire Omar's again, and are happy to recommend this company to anyone.

    Omar's General Contracting
Requested estimate and bid for a large renovation project. Had issues with scheduling initially. Then we met at the property to discuss. Blue prints were requested. Coordinated pick-up, and was again delayed in picking up. After, multiple follow-ups by email and phone, still have not heard back from anyone. No one answers the phone, it always goes to voicemail. Providing large prints of architectural plans cost money. They literally wasted both my time and money.

    Kustom Floors LLC
Rudy and his team are extremely professional and take great pride in their work. Rudy evaluated the work to be done exactly and the installation process went impeccably well. He went above and beyond to make sure that everything fit perfectly and that we didn't notice the difference between the old and new hardwoods. During the sanding and refinishing process, Rudy and his team were very careful with moving all our furniture in and out of the house, ensuring that we were totally satisfied throughout the process. This kind of work always takes time, so we needed to be out of the house for a week. However, when we came back and saw our floors, it was all worth it. They look fantastic, and we couldn't be more pleased that Kustom Floors did the work for us. We highly recommend them!

    Triserve, Inc.
Our basement flooded and we didn't discover it until late at night. We called Triserve and they showed up shortly after we called, and did everything necessary to dry out our basement..  They answered the phone quickly and the person that came to the house was professional, polite, and knowledgeable. They left the fans/dehumidifiers for a couple days and cleaned up a couple days later.  This was in sharp contrast to another company we called, who said they wouldn't be able to come for at least a day. Can't say enough great things about Triserve-we highly recommend them!

    Vazquez & Son construction Inc.
This company never took it to call or email me, I had to contact them. I called them the first time and told them that Saturday would work for my schedule. They said they would check and call me back to confirm. I never heard from them. I had to call them again to confirm that work was scheduled for Saturday, and they told me they had me booked for some other day when I would have to take off work. I told them I couldn't do that, so he agreed to send someone by on Saturday. The day arrived, and someone from Vazquez showed up. The work was completed, but the place was left a mess. There was plaster/spackle splattered all over the walls and floor and ground into the carpet. I'm going to have to spend a significant amount of time cleaning everything up before I can begin to repaint. While the ceiling work looks competently done, I wouldn't use this company again because of the hassles I've described.

    Flood Doctor
May 1, 2014, my basement flooded due to heavy rains and I called this company.  Dave was my point of contact.  Dave told me there was a $500 charge for his crew to show up at my house, and if I decided to accept their price quote to clean up the basement flood, the $500 will go towards the final bill.  I thought it was shady that this would essentially bind me in to whatever pricing they offered, but I had no choice as my basement was flooded.  So they show up late that evening, and clean up the basement, set up fans and a dehumidifier and Dave gives me a rough price estimate over the phone.  At this point, I double checked with him and he confirmed that the $500 fee would not be charged to me as I agreed to their pricing.  I wrote this down in my notes while on the phone with him so I know I am not making this up.
A week later they come back to take their fans and dehumidifier, and want more business from me and offer to install the carpet in the basement for $600.  This was a good price, but I did not want to do it because I had not fixed my landscaping issues that caused the flood in the first place.  Dave said he really wanted my business and will offer to re-install my carpet free of charge over the next 90 days if my basement floods again.  I had him send me the offer in writing, and he emailed me the following on May 11, 2014:
?Please accept this email as a temporary 'release of flood' letter. If you grant is authority via response to this email to install both padding and carpet, we will garentee for the next 3 months (90 calender days) if you experience an unexpected and unfortunate
basement flood caused by unforseen circumstances that were directly linked to this previous basement flood. Flood Doctor will replace your padding SVD reinstall your carpet at no charge to you. This does not include any flood mitigation charges i.e drying equipment, extraction services or microbial treatment.?
Kamran from Flood Doctor installs the carpet, do a good job, and I get the Final Invoice.  To my surprise, it includes the $500 Fee in addition to all the work. Plus, I got charged $90 for them to move a futon 15 feet in thebasement, literally.  I also get charged $800 for 2 layers of anti microbial treatment, which took them 5 minutes to spray each time.  I would not have agreed
to this, since I found a comparable product at Home Depot for $30.  I called Dave and explained the situation, and he agreed to remove the $500 since he said his notes agreed with mine (then why did Dave try to sneak it by me in the Final Invoice?).  And removed the $90 futon relocation fee (apparently his worker told him it took an hour to move).  The rest of the bill I agreed to, including the ripoff for the $800 for 10 minutes of spraying, which they didn?t even do a good job as they missed some spots which now have mold and mildew.  I paid the final Invoice in full ($3,200), and Dave asked me to give him an ?A? on Angies List.
A few days later, May 16, 2014, another heavy rain and my basement flooded again.  I immediately emailed Dave that morning, and he agrees that he will send someone out there to reinstall my carpet since I had to rip up the carpet due to the flooding.  Needless to say, he never sent anyone to my house, and I have documented the following:
5/16/2014: I email Dave, he calls me to acknowledge the situation and guarantees he will honor his ?release of flood? email to me.
6/25/2014: I email Dave again, as I wanted to schedule the carpet install and have it done within the next 4 weeks, and definitely by the time the flood release letter expires on August 11, 2014.
6/25/2014: Dave responds to my email and tells me he will pass my information to his carpet installer Kamran, and Kamran will call me.
7/7/2014: I email Dave, call Dave and leave a voice message, and call Kamran (unable to leave voice message due to his inbox being full) as I have not heard from either of them yet.
7/9/2014: Dave emails me back and says he will ask Kamran to contact me, I reply to Dave to acknowledge his email and that I will wait for someone to contact me.
7/21/2014: I email Dave again as I still have not heard from anyone.
7/31/2014: Dave emails me and says he will call me before the week is over.
8/7/2014: I call Dave and leave a voice message, and call Kamran (unable to leave voice message due to his inbox being full) as I have not heard from either of them yet.
8/11/2014: (Today) I still have not heard from anyone.  This is the day the release of flood letter expires, and Dave guaranteed that the carpet will be installed by today.  Dave did not honor the services he agreed to provide me.  In total, it was a very shady company to work with, they were not upfront about any of the prices until I pointedly asked them.  Please avoid this company if your house floods.

    JCabido Remodeling
Overall I am very pleased with the work that J Cabido did for me.  We had a bathroom leak upstairs that caused drywall damage on the ceiling immediately below.  The damaged drywall was in the dining room, and I was particular that the repair should leave no trace of any damage or short-cut work.  Although I hired J Cabido for the drywall repair work alone, they offered to paint the repaired ceiling (+ 2 adjoining room ceilings, approx. 800 sq ft of ceiling total) the same day and saved me the trouble of finding someone else to do the painting.  I appreciate the quality of work & attention paid to getting the details just right.  As intended, there is no sign of either damage or the subsequent repair; the ceiling appears in mint condition.  Thanks J Cabido, for a quality job at a fair price.
