  • Extremely well, the office is very well run. Phones are answered, calls are returned. The in office staff is polite and efficient. The online services are the best I've encountered, emails get answered. Results get posted in a timely manner. Dr. ******* is an excellent physician. He clearly keeps up with best medical practices, is kind, thorough and attentive.

  • It went great. My son was running a 102 temp with GI upset and I was concerned. I took him to the Medstar Prompt Care on Georgia Avenue and he was quickly seen by a DOCTOR, not a nurse or PA. He received a full exam and we all felt better knowing nothing serious was wrong with him. The facility is clean, staff is friendly, I highly recommend this medical facility.

  • My wife (the patient) and I were extremely favorably impressed by the entire course of treatment and by absolutely everyone on the staff, from receptionists, to nurses, to the surgeon. This hospital is nationally ranked in the field of cardio-thoracic surgery, and you can easily tell why. They have a dedicated recovery room for cardiac-surgery patients and a special floor of the hospital to which the patients are transferred out of the recovery room. All of the staff in these departments are specially trained in care for cardio-thoracic surgery patients, and they do a remarkably good job. The surgeon (Dr. Ammar Bafi) was superb, and made a point of checking back on my wife's recovery regularly during her stay in the hospital. The recovery-room nurses were outstanding, as was the nursing staff in the cardiac-care section of the hospital. They are working on making all their rooms private; in the interim, my wife had to share her room with an annoying room-mate. That was the only thing we could complain about. Otherwise, and in all the areas where it really counts, things worked efficiently and superbly from start to finish.
I should add that the staff is also extremely humane and caring toward both patients and their families. Dr. Bafi's bedside manner is also wonderful, encouraging, reassuring to both patients and their families. My wife and I cannot recommend this facility enough for anyone needing cardiac surgery.

  • Dr. Kanter does not participate with any insurance agencies, which makes her more expensive, and yes, you do have to pay up front. That is the only reason for the B rating on billing and administration. However, the office does provide complete paperwork for you to submit your claim to your insurance agency. My insurance does provide some coverage for out-of-network providers, and Dr. Kanter is definitely worth the higher copay. She takes time with her patients and is very thorough. I never feel rushed in her office. As part of the physical exam, she writes up notes for you about what you have discussed, referrals for you to follow up on, etc. She is super nice, as is her office assistant, Jackie. Recently Dr. Kanter went above and beyond for me. I was sick and called in to schedule an appointment. Jackie told me Dr. Kanter had just left on her vacation and said she would see if she could reach her for me. A few minutes later, Dr. Kanter called me from the airport! She discussed my symptoms with me, made recommendations, and gave me the number of her backup to use if necessary. I highly recommend Dr. Kanter.

  • I had repetitive UTI a couple of years ago. Dr. Isaacson diagnosed it by eliminating possible causes and identified effective treatment. I see him every other year for check-up since then. He and his staff are always informative, courteous and friendly.

  • Dr. Kaufman is great- thorough, friendly, professional. The new office (note the address on this entry is wrong - they are now on M St.) is quite beautiful and everything is now online. Dr. Kaufman took a long time with me to go through everything and I have complete faith in her. Takes a while to get a physical appt, like more than 2 months, but I don't think that is terribly uncommon. When I had a specific problem in the past, they took me that morning, identified something a bit rare and got me treated right away. Front desk was great; my only complaint was the and quot;bedside mannerand quot; of the nurse/tech who drew blood and did the pre-screening things like blood pressure etc. Okay by me to not be bubbly and super friendly but she bordered on rude, basically grunting at me instead of talking. She gets an F, but everyone else gets an A, so I made it a B for the practice. Maybe she just had a bad day. It won't stop me from going back as I really like this practice and Dr. Kaufman especially.

  • Overall, this practice has an assembly line approach that doesn't work. Nearly every appt I was kept waiting for a long time (sometimes an hour or more), but I kept going because the doctors were fairly good and the location was convenient. I delivered by twins here, but was pressured into getting a c-section when it really wasn't necessary (I found this out after the fact form other twin moms who had exactly the same presentation as I did, but delivered vaginally just fine).
I always had issues with many of the staff. They are rude and incompetent, especially when on the phone. The last straw was when I had asked my doctor for a sleep aid, after many months of post-partum insomnia. She gave me a prescription, but it didn't work and I called for a change, per her instructions. She was out of town, so I asked for another doctor to approve the change. The staff people I had to deal with on the phone were utterly and completely rude and condescending, leaving me in tears. The change in Rx was denied and never fulfilled and no one ever called to tell me or to explain why. I wrote a long letter describing my bad experience with the staff but never received a response.
It is a fine place as long as you never have to call or do anything more complicated than make an appt. Otherwise, it is crap. There are many other, much better options.

  • I have been with her for 12 years and she's the best. She is very reliable and she even calls to reminds me to get my tests done. She is very good. I had a surgery a few months ago and she postponed the surgery until they could find a hematologist because she was worried that I had blood clots. She's a top doctor. She also accepts medicare.

  • She took an amazing amount of time with me to make sure I understood all of my conditions.  She was always very interested in me.  She went out of her way to come up with ways to help me.  She is very thorough, very knowledgeable, and very smart.  She is very friendly.  I will not use her again because I moved.

  • She takes her time with you. She actually has a conversation with you. Usually I feel like Doctors stress you out but she actually sits with you and talks to you. She does not order unnecessary tests. I feel like she has more insight. I don't like to take medication and she does not over prescribe medication.
