    While I love Ethan Allen furniture, having purchased two pieces in this line previously, this current experience is less than desired. I was called approximately one week after my purchase to schedule delivery. After a month of trying to get a hold of Peter, I was told that they needed a 12 hr delivery window. Unfortunately, I was not able to give such a window. I was able to give a six hour window, but not twelve. Since they only schedule deliveries a month at a time, I am now waiting to be called later this month to schedule for a potential May delivery. And, so, I am still waiting for delivery with little expectation that this will happen within the next three months given the limited days that I can offer a twelve hour delivery window. I am pretty disappointed with the lack of response from Peter (several calls not returned) and Frances (who called to tell me the dining room set was available for delivery but couldn't schedule the delivery). And, it seems a bit disheartening that I have to pay for delivery both in terms of a delivery fee to Ethan Allen and in terms of an annual leave day from work in order to get a dining room set delivered to my house. I seriously doubt that I will purchase from Ethan Allen again given this fiasco.

    We went to Great Beginnings based on the store and the furniture manufacturer's reputation. The 3 pieces were delivered the third week in December. Two of the pieces were fine, but one of the dressers has a deep gouge in the leg. The delivery crew took pictures of the damage and said someone would contact us. After a few days, no one did so my husband called and was told the store was still waiting on the photos to determine if we should get a new dresser or if it could be repaired.We had two more followup calls with the store since then and they keep telling us the same thing. On January 3rd I called the store again and left a message, offering to send our own pictures if it would expedite the process. No response came. Two days later, I left a message for the store manager outlining our problem. More than 24 hours later, there's still no response. Needless to say, we are frustrated by the store's lack of response and action to resolve the issue.

    Update: We finally got the replacement piece of furniture at the end of February, a full two months after the original delivery date. But heard nothing else from the store. No apology, no coupon for a future purchase, nothing. We understand that things can happen and it may take a while to resolve the problem, but better communication and perhaps a followup apology could have gone a long way in keeping us future customers.

    Most of the furniture we purchased was delayed. Finally, the last room of furniture (bedroom) was to be delivered over a month late (more than 4 months after purchase) and several days after we had actually scheduled the delivery (they called to change that the day before it was to originally be delivered). On the day they finally delivered the bedroom set, they didn't have the mattress. When we called, our salesman said, "They must have forgotten to put it on the truck." I asked to speak to a manager and explained that the reasonable thing to do would be to send the mattress on a truck later that day since this was their error and we had been incredibly patient...and inconvenienced several times throughout the process. She rudely responded that WE hadn't requested the mattress be delivered (which of course we did!) and took zero responsibility on the part of Belfort--even after the salesman acknowledged what had happened. The mattress came over a week later.
