Fantastic job. Provided accurate assessment of what needed to be done at reasonable cost for our unfinished basement. Resolved all water issues completely and have not had water in the basement despite rainy spring/summer.

Few weeks ago we had a small leak in our basement. We got in touch with four different water proofing companies regarding a sump pump. We liked Valco the best. John, the owner, who came in person to do the evaluation and estimate, was punctual, knowledgeable and articulate. He also answered promptly the follow up email questions, of which there were quite a few. Eventually, after doing some basic maintenance around the house (gutters, downspouts), we decided to put the sump pump project on hold for a while, to see how we handle the next storm. If we still have leaks, we will definitely hire Valco to install a sump pump system.

    Armored Basement Waterproofing
Before the estimate from Armored Basement, we had a couple of other companies look at our basement and they both recommended installing french drains in the basement, which would have cost thousands of dollars. Before moving ahead with that work, we wanted a further opinion and quote. Jay from Armored Basement asked us to explain the problems we had experienced in the basement (including exactly where we had seen water in the basement) and, based on that, he said he suspected that water was coming in from under a window sill. To test that, he ran a hose against the window sill he suspected was the problem and, sure enough, we could see water coming in exactly where we see it after heavy rains. Jay explained to us clearly how we could waterproof that part of the outside wall using materials from Home Depot, which would cost about $30. Following Jay's clear advice, we got the materials and waterproofed the wall. He did not charge us anything for his visit. We re-tested the wall using our hose and water is no longer coming in from under the sill. We will have to wait to see whether this has totally solved our problem because we have not had heavy rain since Jay's visit. But, at the very least, we have fixed one problem that Jay identified at minimal cost, without going straight to a very expensive fix. If we do get any more water in the basement in the future, we will definitely call Jay to help us out. We were very impressed with his professionalism and we liked his suggestion to fix what appeared to be the most likely cause of the water issue rather than rushing to implement the most expensive solution. Jay's business card stresses that Armored Basement pride themselves on undertaking "zero sales pressure in your home" and that was definitely our experience. It was great to find a company that emphasizes trying to solve a problem at the lowest cost, rather than trying to maximize the sales they can make.

Requested estimate and bid for a large renovation project. Had issues with scheduling initially. Then we met at the property to discuss. Blue prints were requested. Coordinated pick-up, and was again delayed in picking up. After, multiple follow-ups by email and phone, still have not heard back from anyone. No one answers the phone, it always goes to voicemail. Providing large prints of architectural plans cost money. They literally wasted both my time and money.

Price was very fair for amount of work provided. Work was completed on schedule. No change orders. Workers were polite, tidy, and considerate. Work was done properly and skilfully. Work site was left clean daily. Any requests were taken care of efficiently. No detail was forgotten. I highly recommend Russo's Construction for your concrete work. The concrete patio was removed, along with the fence all around it. The foundations were exposed. A 7-foot crack was found on one end of the back corner wall of the house, and a smaller one on the end other end. The corner walls were reinforced at each end and underpinnings in between both ends were used to provide more support.  Inside the house, the floor of the family room downstairs was excavated all along the length of the house, on a width of about 2 feet (?).  Gravel was used to fill in the holed-out area to ensure better water filtration, and when everything was done a layer of concrete was poured to restore the floor to a point where I could have it refinished.
It was messy, dusty, noisy, lengthy, and costly.  To make matters worse, by the time my home equity loan came through, it was early January. The work started on the Monday in January that would bring us the 2016 blizzard. Needless to say, this slowed down the work since workers could not even gain access to my house for many days. When it was time to pour the concrete on the floor in the family room, that was also delayed because of the weather. The cement company cannot mix the concrete when the temperature is too low.
AA Action Waterproofing provides the services of a structural engineer, but they contract out the work of digging out and making repairs, with the engineer overseeing the work.
I cannot speak highly enough of the guys who worked in my house for about a month.  They dealt with rain, snow, severe cold, difficult access -- my house is built on a slope, and there was no way to bring a truck right where the construction debris was generated.  They showed up for work when they were supposed to and worked really hard.  They were always very polite and friendly.
Fortunately, everything that they removed was old, and I was planning to take out a home equity loan to redo the patio and the family room in the spring anyway.  I would have been devastated if that part of the house had already been upgraded. Of course, I can't do as much home improvement as I wanted to since $25,000 went to AA Action Waterproofing. But at least I am reassured that my house will not collapse! From what the engineer said, my house had not reached the point where I had to act ASAP. But I had to do something if I didn't want my house to become worthless. Apparently, with these problems, the deterioration is very gradual. Then you get a tipping point, and damage occurs very quickly.
There could have been better communication between the structural engineer and myself. I did not realize the extent of the "damage" that would be done inside. Also, I did not mind losing access to my TV (I have one upstairs), but I hit the roof when I came home one day and did not have internet access.  I work from home twice a week, and often put in some work in the evening or early morning in addition to putting in a full day at work. I was furious, and, frankly, not nice at all.  What matters, however, is how the company and the workers reacted when they got my screaming phone calls in the evening. They apologized and told me they would restore internet access to me every evening at the end of the day, if they needed to disconnect it.  They also told me when I would not have access during the day, ahead of time, and for hour long, so that I could plan to go to work instead or go to Starbucks/the library.  Writing this, I feel bad that I was so nasty to them.  They were true to their word, and I have a lot of respect for them.
Currently, I am in the process of having the family room repaired/remodeled extensively. It is also messy, dusty, not so much noisy, but definitely costly too. And UNBELIEVABLY LENGTHY.  I am dealing with a provider who is much, much less responsive than AA ActionWaterproofing and its contractors were.  They worked hard to get the job done well.  My current provider drags the process on and on and on and on.
Still, I hope I never, ever need the services of AA ActionWaterproofing! I can think of other ways to spend my money.  But I would definitely recommend the company to someone who would need the same services as I did.

Everything went smoothly. The workers put down plastic and were careful with our house. They did need the entire house since they were working in the attic and crawl space and taking materials in and out.  However, when they were finished, it was all cleaned up and looked great.  Our 1950s house had significant air leakage and very high gas bills in the winter (even with radiation heat).  We've notice that the temperature doesn't change easily and are looking forward to seeing how our gas bill will change next month.  Mohammed also got us pre-qualified for a 50% rebate with the energy company and is filing the paperwork for us.

Jay & Chris are HONEST!  I had water in the unfinished utility space of our new home.  I called another company first and the rep said we had major issues and would need a full perimeter drain and sump pump installed--for $8000.  My father recommended Jay and said he wouldn't try to push us to get work done that we didn't need.  Jay & Chris came by to give me an estimate and it turns out it was a leaking connection with our furnace--not a waterproofing issue.  Jay also gave us some advice about how to help with basement moisture by having some landcaping/grading changes and extending some of our gutter downspouts.  It was a huge relief to find out that he took the time to actually try and diagnose what the problem was.  If I could give an A++ I would!

Our basement was finished- complete with a bedroom and living room - we paid a company to help demo the area in order to save as much materials as possible to reinstall. Where tiled, we were told we could just cut back leaving enough room to install the drain, keeping the rest of the tiling intact, so that is what we did. When the crew arrived the first day, they were concerned about the available space for dropping a truckload of gravel. We were not told ahead of time that this would be required and did not have a good location around our house....the team seemed very frustrated by this and we were frustrated we were not told ahead of time to prepare for this. For the most part we removed everything from our (formally finished) basement and only had some shelving of basement type storage for them to work around that I asked they cover in plastic. They did, by stapling plastic to our ceiling- making small holes in multiple locations. While doing the work, they used the basement bathroom -Irealizethey would need to use the bathroom during the day - but disappointed that they did not take care to cover any of the flooring or clean up after themselves -thetile and grout was leftvery dirty. Additionally, the closet tile that I was told could remain intact was not covered either. This tile, grout and thresholdended up completely scratched and damaged andI just learned this morningis not salvageable andwill have to bereplaced at an additional cost to us.
I will say we did get a good price compared to another company and the sales guys were very responsive and honest. When Ihad asked about a battery backup, they explained the shortcomings of installing what would be a very expensive addition too the pump and recommending a much more reliable option of a portable generator, at 1/2 the cost. I really appreciated the honesty as this project was already extremely expensive for us.Our air conditioning was acting a little funny after the jack hammering - our AC company replaced a metal strap that had become lose- and All Aspects has agreed to reimburse me for the service call. I will be contacting them about the tiles once I have an invoice from our contractor and hope they are just as helpful again.
All in all, they did install a working system and have a fantastic warranty that transfers with the sale of the house - a primary reason we chose to go with them. I am just a little disappointed in the care that was taken for our house while they were working in our space.

Update: All Aspects did agree to reimburse us for the damaged tiles in the closet.
