Great prices for labor and job got done very professionally. Didn't try to sell additional services or recommend higher priced repair. Service was quick and appointment also was available when needed. Will definitely check again for any further maintenance.

It's due for service again. It's less than $100. I forget. They do excellent. They do very good work there.I think their prices are reasonable. I don't know how they compare with other places. We've been satisfied. I haven't had any problems.

They are very personal and personable so they treat you like they want you to be there. They are willing to tailor their explanations based on the expertise of their listener so for me, it’s got to be really basic and they are very proactive about that so I really appreciate the speak my language on it.

This is the third time I used Columbia Family Auto Care for the two cars I own and each time, the service has been great. This last time I was having problems with my brakes and even though I didn't have a service appointment, Mr. Young said he would take a look and see what he could find out. Within about 2 hours, Mr. Young called to inform me what the problem was with my brakes. He gave me a number of different options to repair the brakes that could save me money. Even though I asked him for his opinion on several options, it never felt like he was trying to "upsell" me on anything. My car was repaired the following day since he had to order parts that he didn't have in stock. At the time I came in to pay the bill, he indicated that the dealer had misquoted the price of the calipers to him which resulted in the repair costing less than he originally quoted me. Its nice and refreshing to find someone who is an honest and trustworthy business owner. I plan on using them in the future.

After receiving an outrageous estimate on brake replacement for our minivan from another shop, we tried Eakles auto care.  They completed the work quickly and well, and charged less than half of what the previous shop had told us.  Would definitely recommend.

While they were very prompt in getting me my estimate, the estimate was really high.  They were pushy in trying to get me to authorize the repair.  After consulting with my uncle who is also a mechanic, I decided to pick it up without any work done.  I was not impressed at all.

Best service I have ever found, and I have lived in the Wash/Columbia area for decades. Extremely honest, knowledgeable/skillful, very good price, and even punctual. My cars 30K service was half that of a dealer's - partly

because he did only that work which was actually NEEDED.

I'm really pleased with the professionalism, politeness, and responsiveness of the staff at Hillmuth.  They don't talk-down to me, and they take the time to explain what's going on.  They seem to have loyal employees who like working there. That seems like a good sign.

Last Friday night, my 2007 Mercury Milan lost acceleration when the gas pedal was pushed, and it limped home. Saturday, I contacted the nearest Ford dealer, Apple Ford, but they seemed too busy to diagnose and repair my car. When I called Koons Ford of Baltimore, J.P. said they could probably diagnose it, but it might not be till Monday that they fixed it.
Since that was a better deal, I had my car towed there on Saturday and got a call from J.P. saying they got the car. Soon thereafter, I was pleasantly surprised when he called to say they diagnosed it to be a throttle body part problem. I had told him about my extended car warranty, and he discussed the issue with them and found out half was covered and half wasn't. The latter required a total carbon flush out. They needed to order the part, but it should be there by Monday.
He informed me I needed to come in on Monday to sign the form to fax to my warranty company. Before receiving the part, they could get the carbon issue worked out, to save time, so that replacing the part would be the only remaining issue. J.P. called me on Monday when the full repairs were completed, and I ended up getting a rental, and Koons Ford was able to call the nearby Enterprise rental to pick it up, without me being present.
Koons Ford quickly faxed the signature/work order to the car warranty, so I was good to go in and lt;30 minutes. Total repair cost ~$1,000 w/ 1/2 being covered by warranty.
I went into detail because J.P. went above and beyond in keeping me informed, not over-promising but over-performing, and explained everything well. This is the way customer service is supposed to be, and it was much appreciated.
The only two things to have made it a perfect experience would've been: 1. wash the car afterwards (do dealers do this anymore?) and 2. have a loaner car to use, but I u/s those days might be gone.
Bottom line, Koons Ford and J.P. did a great job, and I would highly recommend them for car repairs.

These guys are great! I was due for an Emissions test on my car, however, my Service Engine Soon light was on which I needed to fix before I could get the car inspected. I had taken my car to 2 other shops to have it looked at. All these mechanics did was pull the code from the computer and told me that I needed a catalytic converter, a part that would cost over $2,000 to fix. My husband and I weren't very comfortable with these diagnoses, so we held off having it fixed at both places. However, as the due date of the inspection approached, we knew we needed to do something. We read about Columbia Family Auto Care on Angies List and decided to give them a try.
When I dropped my car off, they gave me a lift to my office about 5 miles away so I didn't have to wait for hours while they worked on the car. The neat thing about this shuttle service was they actually drove me in my car, which gave them a chance to test drive the car and see firsthand how it runs. I thought this was genius! After they had done a thorough diagnosis on my car, I got a call in which they explained very clearly what was going on. They also found that the catalytic converter was the area which was causing my SEL to be on, however, they also noticed a leak in an exhaust pipe right behind the catalytic converter; something none of the other mechanics had noticed. He told me that the leak may or may not be the issue, but before we could know the status of the catalytic converter we would need to fix this leak. He fixed the leak, and the light went off! The leak only cost $350 to fix, which, while still a decent amount of money, was much less than the over $2,000 I had been quoted by other mechanics. Thanks to the careful diagnosis by these guys, I saved almost $1500!! If you're looking for a decent, honest mechanic, these are your guys!
