Locksmith reviews in Hyattsville

Mr. Brooks was on time and made a quick assessment of the job. He took the time to review the least expensive solution which was rekeying the locks. When that solution failed, he went out of his way to purchase the locks we wanted and installed them efficiently. His manner was professional and cordial.

    Keyed In LLC
Roy came out to fix my security door locks and was friendly, fast, and professional. He was very informative of the various options available for locks and home security. He aligned my door frame and VIOLA! my locks were locking properly. I will definitely use them again to replace my locks with a heavier door lock. Also, provided me with an Angie's List discount on service performed.

He was awful.  He was brand new starting out to change my door in my condo.  It took 2 and a half hours.  He couldn't cut keys.  He was here on September of 2016.  He might be better now, but he was just brand new, it was not what I expected.  It was more than $75 because he had to buy a different lock set.  He was professional.

He rekeyed the locks but some of them are loose and keep turning. He told me the locks that used a key on both sides count as two locks. I was never charged double before. I had two pay 120.00 more than my Angie's price. 123.00 for six locks. I had eight locks but he charged me for ten. It took three hours for him to rekeyed the locks. He took so long on the first one (35 minutes), I called his cell to make sure he was okay. He said he had a "snafu" but everything was ok. I had to cancel my plans to wait on him.

Used Angies List to find MrQuickPick on Monday morning; Charles was onsite, getting the locks changed and everything working as it should on all entry doors in less than 24 hours. Great communication, quick response and straight-up professionalism with NO BULL. Value for your $, A+++++++++

    Eastern Safe & Lock Inc
I was under the impression that the deal I purchased would cover the cost of work. I was wrong. I paid $35.00 for $75.00 worth of service in addition to paying another $50+ to the locksmith the day of. I don't like being deceived about cost, especially when the lock was fixed and not completely replaced. I think the way the deal was written was deceiving (and the locksmith agreed) and therefore would not recommend using this locksmith.

    Mike's Locksmith & Security
Punctuality or lack there of is one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to service calls, but Mike arrived right at the scheduled appointment time (and even a few minutes early).  That to me is invaluable. The price for the services was fair - I had prepared myself for paying a lot more.  In fact, I had planned to re-key the lock myself after the door was opened, but the cost was reasonable enough for me to have Mike go the distance.  The work was performed very quickly.  He was in and out in 30 minutes or less. Mike was very professional and polite and didn't try to sell me on the higher cost locks.  This was a very positive experience and I wouldn't hesitate to use Mike's Locksmith again.

    Ernie's Lock Company, Inc
Andy called when he was 30 minutes away and showed up right when he said he would. Was very friendly and professional while asking what he could help with. Did the work well and in a timely manner. Talked to us about the neighborhood while he worked. Will absolutely use Ernie's again.

Even though I gave it an A (the service was great) the deal was not ideal.  You pay $35 for $75 of services; however, the service call fee is $89 so you'll come out of pocket regardless of what you get done.  Maybe that's how these deals work but I assumed that I would be covered (or at least close to it) with the $75 deal.  I'm a new homeowner so maybe that just comes with the territory.  Now I know!

    Lamar Locksmith Co.
I did not initially find this company off Angie's List. I happened to discover them in passing when I saw one of their vans in the area. I wrote down the number on the side of the van and gave them a call. They were very affordable and reasonable. They should up on time, were very professional and courteous. They were also very knowledgeable in their field and I liked the way the workers were prepared and how clean their vehicle was. They very well organized and I will definitely be using them again in the future.
