Appliance Repair reviews in Hyattsville

Faued was awesome! A true professional! Came to the house without hesitation during the first snow storm of the year. Diagnosed the problem within minutes, ordered the part and came back the next day to complete the work. Even suggested certain things I could do to prolong the fridge. Both days not only called in advanced but showed up early and got the job done with ease. He is definitely someone to hire. I would definitely hire him and Appliance Repair 24 again!

The technician called before coming and he was right on time. He verified the problem and told me something was broken and he had to repair it. I did laundry that same day and all went well. Thanks again for your services.

I got a response to schedule appt w/in 24 hours and date of service within 72 hours. This met with my satisfaction. Prior to service call, which was estimated at approximately $135 (instead of $155), Darryl from Wooten appliance contacted me. He inquired about the problem and discussed investigating the cost of a replacement part. In the meantime, he suggested I plug and unplug the oven or use the circuit breaker to reset. He held the line while I performed these functions and the digital panel returned to normal. Before ending call he made sure I had his phone number in case I had a recurring issue. Although I had no actual hands on service provided, this response gave me assurance that if I had an issue with a large appliance in the future I would contact this company. Thanks Darryl!

They're good, I'd give them a high grade. On price, we have a master warranty we just pay a flat fee every so many years and everything covers. We've always had good luck with Kenmore brand. I think it's been 50 years now we've been buying from sears. It was good. They've been real responsive, they call right back I don't know its whether we have the master warranty we always get right through and they set it up right away. They have been punctual. They've always been very professional.

I really appreciated that Mr. Eduardo Gutierrez explained things to me as he was figuring out why the freezer was working but the fridge was not cooling. He got the fridge working but said that the problem would occur again in a few days if certain parts were not replaced. He came back a couple days later with the new parts and everything is now working.I really appreciated Eduardo's positive attitude and the attitude of the folks at Mr. Appliance. It was a pleasure to work with this company.

He was out several times with it, and didn't charge us at all. It wasn't nothing he could do. We ended up replacing the refrigerator, which was one of his suggestion. He has been very fair with the price with us.

I did not have a good experience with Wooten Appliance. The automatic defrost on our refrigerator wasn't working, so frost was building up in the freezer and preventing cold air from reaching the refrigerator. I had done a bunch of diagnostic testing myself, and narrowed the problem down to one of two parts. When I booked a service appointment with Wooten using the online form, I left detailed notes about what I'd figured out so far, in hopes that they would be able to use the notes to diagnose the problem and bring the correct part with them. I also called ahead, explained the situation, and verified that the technician would review the notes before they came out. When the technician arrived, I asked whether he'd seen the notes, and he said no, the dispatcher never gave them to him. When I showed him the notes, he immediately said "it's the control board, we'll have to order it," and never even looked at the fridge. In other words, I was exactly right that they could have diagnosed the problem from my notes and could have ordered the part ahead of time, but they couldn't get it together to make sure the technician saw the notes even when I specifically requested it. To make matters worse, I had taken the freezer apart (removed all of the food and the bins, taken off the back panel, etc.) so he could get right to work when he arrived. After he told me he didn't need to look at it and was preparing to leave, I asked for his help in putting things back together. He said their policy was not to put anything back together that the customer had disassembled, because they didn't want to get blamed for things the customer screwed up. I suppose that's a reasonable concern, but I guess I'd rather work with a company that values being helpful to customers even when there's a slight liability risk. So to sum up so far: Wooten Appliance sent a repair technician to my house, and during that visit, the technician did absolutely no work whatsoever except to look at some notes that I had requested he look at before making the visit. For this I was charged $139. When I called the office to let them know what had happened, the woman I spoke to was apologetic and assured me that she'd provided the notes to the technician. I don't know who's really to blame, but something is clearly dysfunctional about their system. After they quoted me a price for replacing the control board (parts & labor), I looked online and found the part for $100 cheaper than the price they'd given me. I ended up ordering the part and, since Wooten couldn't come out for several more days, I ended up replacing it myself. Everyone I interacted with at Wooten was courteous and respectful at all times, but in terms of providing competent service, they seem to have a long way to go.

I purchased the $11,995 Kitchen Remodel Big Deal with Innovative Home Improvements. Jenny and Gary came and did measurements and made suggestions for the new kitchen. Jenny suggested that I come look at a house they were renovating where the kitchen was similar to mine. I met Jenny at the house and afterward let her know that I wanted to go with the same cabinets and light gray/white counter top. The team arrived on March 14 to begin the demolition. I explained that I would like for the bulkhead between the kitchen and dining room to be removed and the popcorn ceiling in the dining room removed so it would be a smooth, continuous surface between the kitchen and dining room and that I would like for them to paint the kitchen and dining room ceiling as well. I agreed to pay an additional $4800, which covered more cabinets than what was offered in the Big Deal, fixing the dining room ceiling; removing the bulkhead, getting the floor ready for tile, adding the circuits for the dishwasher and microwave (getting a dishwasher was the main reason for renovation), moving gas and water lines, and painting. Gary explained that everything would be done according to code. After removing the old cabinets, the demolition team removed five layers of flooring before they got to the subfloor. Its a good thing we were getting the kitchen remodeled because it turns out the evaporation pan for the fridge was broken and water had been leaking through the laminate floor, probably for years, requiring replacement of parts of the subfloor. Jenny sent me the design for the kitchen on March 15, which looked great. I had decided to go with white cabinets, charcoal gray porcelain tile for the floor, light gray subway tile for the backsplash and sage-gray paint for the walls. I found the backsplash tile at Morris Tile but the floor tile there would have busted the budget so Jenny scouted around for a more reasonable alternative finally finding it at Lowes. We should have settled on the counter top by this time but we had not. At the end of March Jenny brought three samples of granite that were darker and busier than I had expected but I chose the one with light and dark gray and burgundy colored spots. It turned out to be very beautiful. Jenny has a good eye. The cabinets came from Cabinets and Stone Direct in Beltsville. The kitchen was done, except for some floor molding, on April 15. It looked great! The stainless steel sink was deep and wide. The tile work was excellent and the painting, which included wall repair, was very good. The members of the crew were diligent and pleasant throughout the whole process. Gary agreed that the floor molding on the dining room side of the counter was insufficient because the unfinished and uneven hard wood floor boards were exposed at one end due to the counter being a tiny bit crooked. This was rectified on September 9th when they came to replace a light and dimmer switch that kept blowing. Gary said that all of their work was guaranteed for a year. Going into the project I had no idea how long it would take. It ended up taking five weeks. I made a mistake in buying a dishwasher with the controls on the top of the door instead of the front of the door because the counter top would completely cover the controls when the door was closed, but Sears agreed to swap the dishwashers. This held things up a few days.

I had purchased the $139.00 for a repair of one large appliance deal because we were getting a puddle beside the fridge.  A technician came out and opened the back of the fridge and found that the drain pan was badly cracked.  He had to order the part and came back a second time with another technician to replace the part, for which we had to pay an additional $130.

The fridge was making a loud buzzing noise and the ice maker wasn't working.  He responded and came by quickly, diagnosed the problem and ordered the parts.  When the parts came in, he called and came by quickly and replaced the faulty parts in less than 30 minutes.  He followed up the next day to make sure everything was working (it was). Highly recommended.
