    Winthorpe Design & Build Inc.
My Wife and I recently went through an extensive renovation of our home which entailed moving our kitchen to a different location, expanding a bedroom, remodeling two bathrooms, adding a bedroom and an office, and adding a den. Everyone on Scott'S team was amazing! They worked within our budget, gave us numerous options, and they were extremely accommodating considering we lived in our house during the renovation. Everyone was very professional and knowledgeable. We had estimates from other companies but Winthorpe Design & Build stood out because they really thought outside the box to make our wish list a reality. We love the ideas Krag came up with. We knew we were in good hands when we signed our contract. We highly recommend Winthorpe to others looking to complete a renovation. You won't be disappointed!

Went very well. Workers showed up on time when expected and were very nice and friendly. They went out of their way to make us as comfortable as possible with all the work going on as we were living there.

    VKB Kitchen & Bath
Joe Zouine was the design consultant that transformed our kitchen from 1980s eat in kitchen into a beautiful, large, and functional kitchen. The project manager, Jason Freeman, wad instrumental in ensuring the project wss correctly orchestrated and on schedule. Jason monitored the project from start to finish, physically at the job site often, and called daily to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. Jason did a wonderful job and we could not have asked for a better or more qualified person for the job. The crews were highly skilled and performed continuously throughout the day. The products, service, and work crews are truely deserving of a 5 star review! I recommend this company and plan to use VKB in the future. Including before and after pics.

    Stowe Contracting -Transformative Innovations
Excellent, sums it up! I had to wait while he finished another job to get the job started but well worth the wait! Gene and the guys started by demoing all the tile on the floor and removing the shower glass, and the damaged shower curb. Found subfloor issues and they fixed it all. Job was supposed to take 2 weeks and 90% was done in 1 week. They installed a new underlayment, and then the new wiring for heating. Then they covered it with thin set, my floor is solid as a rock now. Rebuilt the rotted shower curb and sealed it as it should have been originally. Laid the new tile, new stone on the curb, grouted and cleaned up! They cleaned up everyday and took special care to contain the dirt and dust during construction! Also took special care to ensure the dog did not get out while removing all the debris. The bathroom is toasty warm, looks excellent, no more rotten curb and I am so happy we selected Gene for the job!

    Oleary's Custom Carpentry
Things went so well that we hired Oleary's Custom Carpentry to do a total renovation of our master bath. Several of our neighbors have envied our island so much that they have hired him for various home renovations of their own.

    Zepp Plumbing & Heating
We asked several plumbers for quotes and they were comparable. They were responsive to communication. The office staff person, his name is Brian, was really good about getting questions answered and scheduling and that sort of thing. I would say though that you really have to have some of your own knowledge about plumbing. This has been our experience with contracting in general, I don't think it's just this project with the plumber. They did a good job. What happened, was our home, when it was built 25 years ago, the original contractors that built the home, they reversed the hot and cold water in that particular bathroom. And so you would think that part of the installation process would to be to make sure that the hot and cold were where they are supposed to be. It's just part of installation. They came back and they fixed it. We had asked about the smell coming from the tub and it turned out that it was just a very new tub. Normally I guess tubs have a chance to sit in the warehouse for a while, that it is just a chemical smell. They came out and they were very responsive. They said they would fix and it would take 30 minutes. That was probably the only thing for an irritation. They did not charge me for fixing it. So it wasn't that big of a problem. They were comparable with everyone else. In that sense it wasn't a super deal, but they weren't super expensive either. The work was very good. They were very responsive and on time.

Kris Konstruction Design & Build Group
We bought the Angie's List Big Deal bathroom renovation and have waited until the job was finished to write this review.
It took the Kris Konstruction team a while to get to us, as they apparently are kept very busy by Angie's list members and others. But we weren't in a big hurry and  company representatives were professional and easy to work with all around. Chris Roe initially worked with us on a design, explained clearly to us what materials and fixtures we needed to supply and how much additional we would have to pay above the terms of the Big Deal, and answered our many questions. Ours was  a relatively small bathroom job in an 85 year old house a long way from their Harford County base, but once the job started, Tony and his helper kept coming back  until it was done to our satisfaction, although  it was a long drive in heavy traffic every day.
As always happens in an old house, unanticipated challenges popped up along the way, and we screwed up a couple of times in what we bought - or didn't. However,  Tony's problem-solving attitude was outstanding, and both his workmanship and his communication with us was excellent.. "We'll make it work" became an almost-daily mantra. They did an exceptional job cleaning up every day, and even got along great with the dogs. We are very happy with the result and would use Kris Konstruction again as well as highly recommend them to others.

    Glenwood Kitchen & Bath LLC
The best thing about employing this particular contractor is that the owner, Rich Judd, makes an extra effort to communicate with you each day and lets you know about expectations for the coming days. He has a very good eye for design and is eager to help you make the plans that you have in mind turn out well.  This means that he is not afraid to tell you what he thinks will not look so good.

All of the workmen who participated in our project were punctual and attentive, but the carpenters were particularly excellent craftsmen and the contractor who did our tile setting for our backsplash and floor was very meticulous and artistic. The electrician was very knowledgeable and helpful particularly when it came to designing the lighting for the space. Our job was done in a very timely manner even though we kept on adding more items even after our renovation was underway. Rich?s price was on the high side to begin with, but the advantage in working with him is that he does not tend to ?nickel and dime? you as the project goes on. He makes a great effort to find the materials and complete the job in the way that you have in mind and the price that you negotiate up front is the price you are asked to pay.  The cabinets that they installed are very beautiful and of very good quality.
Overall we were very pleased with our experience with Rich, and if we had to do it again, we wouldn?t hesitate to hire him.

    Glenwood Kitchen & Bath LLC
My wife and I have lived in our log home for nearly 20 years procrastinating much of that time about renovating our home's kitchen and the rest of the downstairs.  When we finally made the decision to take the 'plunge,' we were fortunate to find Glenwood Kitchen and Bath and Rich Judd.  From our first meeting to end of project, Rich and his crew were the epitome of professionalism.  Rich offered excellent suggestions to compliment and enhance the ideas that we had for this extensive project.  When the project began, RIch was on site each day liaising with us and members of his team to ensure that all was on schedule and budget.
Rich really seeks perfection in his work and each of his team is a real craftsman - the guys installing the cabinets, those laying bathroom tile, and the electrician who is an artist in terms of installing light fixtures which show off beautifully the features of the overall team's work.  Another very pleasant surprise we experienced while working with Glenwood and Rich were the vendors he suggested we visit to select materials and supplies needed to complete our project  - cabinetry, bathroom fixtures, granite countertops, floor tile, etc.  Each was exceptionally knowledgeable. very helpful, and wonderfully friendly.
Our kitchen and downstairs bath are now complete.  The final product exceeded our expectations and its so much fun to share with our friends.  Compliments flow when visitors enter our home and those who knew the previous kitchen and bath cannot believe they've entered the same home.
If you're looking for exceptional workmanship that is conducted in a very professional manner, I would certainly suggest considering Glenwood Kitchen and Bath.
Probably the greatest reference we can provide is that we were so pleased with Rich and his team's work that he and Glenwood Kitchen and Bath are back at our home again - renovating two upstairs bathrooms.  The team's professional manner and attention to detail continues as they engage in this project.

    John D Miller Builders
We are very pleased. He is great to take care of what we need. I have a wellness office myself and he built my 800 sq. foot office with beauty, pride and love. So I was very happy with that. He is expensive but I get quality work and it gets done right the first time. For some that might be a deterrent but for me it's not because I want quality material. We went out and got 3 quotes. He was in the middle of the range but then we did some other things. It ended up being more and that was design issues that needed to be fixed. I know I got value for what I got. Later on there was a little problem and he was right there to fix it. I have nothing but high praise for his crew and ndash; no smoking and respected my needs in the house. No thrash outside and clean-up was excellent. He has a very professional crew. We have him already on our calendar for this year where he has an opening to do our kitchen. Once he comes back again, one of the things I wanted to do is some video clips because they just do a nice job.
