Window Replacement reviews in Harwood

    Power Home Remodeling
I spent a day taking estimates from 3 different window companies.  This company, although not the least expensive, hands down had the best quality window.  Having replaced 10 windows already using 2 OTHER companies, I had plenty of experience with poorly made windows, which is why I delayed getting any more until I knew wanted, and knew what I didn't want.  My brand-X 2012 and 2013 replacement windows are much harder to open one handed, locking/unlocking requires 2 hands, and a few of them already leak.
This sales rep arrived on time and was not pushy.  He had a great product to show and he knew it. A week later there was a scheduled appointment to confirm the measurements and an appointment was made for the install.  We found a week and time that worked for both of us, and a date was set.  Many window companies that I've talked with over the years have insisted that I must do all the windows in order to do the job. This company allowed me to do just a few windows at a time so I can test them out, and later budget and plan for more.
I received a reminder call a few days earlier and then a call again that morning.  They told me that I'd hear from the crew around noon to get a specific ETA.  They called at noon to say they'd be here at 1:30.  The 2 man crew arrived right on schedule.  They were dressed in clean uniforms and introduced themselves at the door.  They spread out drop cloths on all my hardwood flooring and carpets, they even hand wiped their shoes upon entering the house. They did a quick survey of the windows being replaced, and promptly began to work.  They spread a tarp outside to catch the debris from the outside, spread yellow caution tape around the construction zone, posted a temporary construction warning note at the front door. They attached a padded ladder to the side of the house with slow and careful precision so it wouldn't hurt my siding, I checked. They were very polite, quiet, and respectful of my privacy.  They treated my home with gentle kindness.  There were no loud noises or shouting. Nobody smoked on the job.  I hardly knew they were here, and then they swept, vacuumed, picked up, and cleared out just as quietly.
Before they left they did a walk through with me, encouraging me to look for anything that may need to be improved upon, but I found nothing out of order.  Everything was insulated, caulked, sealed, and all the trim was put back looking better than ever before! They showed me how to open/close, lock/unlock, and how to clean the windows.
A 3rd man arrived partway through to follow up.  He had me sign the sales contract and emailed me a warranty for the windows. He stayed for the walk through and we talked about future window replacements.  He took measurements of my other windows so that when I'm ready to do more windows.  I'm almost ready to order more, just by how smoothly this went.  I had expected a major mess and disruption.  I think they'd be just as efficient with 6 more at once!
I'm looking forward to the sunlight not baking my bedroom this summer but the big test will be when we get the first frosty wind this coming fall and I'll update this review then.

    Absolute Glassworks Inc
Our 95 lb dog got excited and broke the glass in a window accidentally with his moose antler. Days before taking photos to list our house on the market. I contacted several glass companies on Angie's list. While each listed glass repair as a service most responded saying that they only replaced windows (some of which had a 5 window minimum) or did not even serve my zipcode.
Bob contacted me the same day I contacted him via Angies List. Depending on the the type of glass I was quoted $169-$189 (which he would test) He offered to come to our home to take measurements and test to see what the type of glass it was. Alternately he offered me a discount if I wanted to bring the window to him. Who wouldn't take advantage of this!?!
So I took the window bottom out myself (just two quick screws) and covered the hole with cardboard and a trash bag and I took the window sash up to him.
First of all if you take advantage of this and you are visiting his shop make sure that you put in the entire address (zipcode and all!) there is another 1718 Belmont Ave Baltimore MD. It could have just been me that somehow managed this (as he said he has not had a customer with this issue before). My point to mentioning this is that when I was lost I called Bob and left a message saying I was lost. He called me right back and he helped me find my way to his shop.
Once I finally made my way to his shop, he told me he would wrap up replacing the glass by the next morning or so. In the back of the building they have an option to place your window if you need to do an after hours pickup. He was actually done with it same day and told me I could pick it up first thing the next morning.
All around my experience with Absolute Glassworks was fantastic! I will hands down recommend them to everyone I know and will use them if/when our Dog ever and quot;strikesand quot; again!

See above.  The crew could not have been more hardworking or professional. They made a really hard job look easy, and finished on time and on budget.  I would recommend them to anyone considering work on their home.

    Unicorp Home Energy Services

the Both crews were very professional during their removal and installations.

During their work, both crews were very careful to unsure no damage was caused to shrubbery, plants, etc.

Both crews took extra care to perform their work in a very professional manner, answered any questions about the installation and materials, and made cost saving changes to the installations as we discovered defects in the house construction.

The crew supervisors visited the site daily to ensure the crews, their work and materials were delivered on-time and installed in a very professional manner.
