NOTE: Kargmans, Inc. and Jewel Remodelers is the same company. DO NOT USE THIS VENDOR! This has been the worse experience I have ever had with a home improvement vendor. Jason, the Project Manager, came to my house on 3/9/18 to assess the work I needed done. Job 1: Paint Prep and Condensation Repair in Bathroom Crew was scheduled to arrive between 8am-9am, but no sign of anyone at 10am. I called the office and Arthur Kargman, the owner, was very apologetic and had someone there by 12 noon. It took him about 8 hours over two days to complete the work. Work was fine, but he only did the paint prep on the spots that I pointed out (I am an inexperienced DIY guy). After he left I found several other spots that an experienced person should have noticed and taken care of. The bathroom ceiling has also started to peel again, but to be fair I don't know if that is a result of his work or poor ventilation in my BR, which I have tried to correct. Job 2: Screen Door Installation Two words...Train wreck. It took over a month for Jason to get my screen door ordered. (It had to be a custom size due to my older row home not having a standard size opening.) I also told him that at a minimum I need my current undersized door, and the frame that was built in the opening to make it fit, taken off my house because I was getting new furniture delivered and needed to make sure I had access to the entire door opening. This didn't happen until the night before the furniture was being delivered. However, they didn't remove the build-in frame, so the opening was not any larger than when the door was still on the house. Finally, the morning the furniture was being delivered someone came by and removed frame so I had the whole opening available. During those 4-6 weeks that I was trying to get the new door ordered and the old one removed, I had numerous phone calls and texts with Jason asking for status updates. (I still have some of these on my phone.) He always had some excuse: he had to check with the foreman, he was checking to see if they already have one in stock that might fit, etc. After a month or so he said they had to order the door, and of course he needed $275 paid in advance before ordering the door. I give him the check and 3 or so weeks later I checked in with him (because he would never proactively communicate with me) and the door had just been delivered. By now it was almost Memorial Day. I scheduled the install no less than 3 times over the next 4-5 weeks. When they cancelled again on June 29th the office manager, Krista Barlow, told me she would process a refund check of $275 that I paid them for the door. Over the next 2+ months I followed up with both Krista and Arthur at least a dozen times via voice mail and email about my refund and never received a response from them. I then filed a complaint with the BBB in late August or September, to which Jewel/Kargmans never responded. To this day I have not heard from the company or received my refund check, and I am now getting quotes from other vendors for this door installation plus replacement of 2 additional doors on my house. I wound up paying $800 for only $525 worth of work. Stay away from this company. They are dishonest, unethical and unprofessional.

I hired CCC based on word of mouth reviews from some friends. The business is new but the owner has been in the home building and repair business for many years. I had a limited budget and took a gamble on hiring a less established contractor and won big time. Could not have been more pleased. Billy (owner) took the time to describe a few options for me so I could adjust my needs and wants with my budget. The project was huge (free standing 2 car garage) and there were so many options. He was professional and treated me with respect through all of my inquiries. My father is a retired contractor and he was extremely pleased with the quality of work that CCC did. I plan on having an addition done to the house next year and definitely will be calling CCC back to do the work. So nice to now have a go-to handy person who I can trust will do great work and is a pleasure to work with.

The first appointment was missed due to miscommunication. I got an email, then a phone call, made an appointment, then the worker never showed up and they said I hadn't confirmed the appointment, even though I talked to the scheduler on the phone and confirmed it! Calling back was sometimes difficult as the answering machine would not pick up, or only after a long time. So I can't give them a great grade for responsiveness or punctuality. Once they did get the worker out to my house, he did the work quickly and efficiently, so no problems there. For the small amount of work needed, I probably could have hired someone for just an hour for less, but everything offered in the deal was provided.

The previous owner of my house mainly focused on completing the first floor exterior trim but not the second floor.  There were several areas that were painted and I wanted to protect them from the weather and reduce the maintenance requirement on them.  This was an arduous and physically challenging task due to the heights, odd angles on the house, one very steep angle on one side of the house, and multiple roof levels.  Mike and Rob were undaunted by the challenge and tackled the job like the true professionals they are.  Mike is the owner of Designing Renovations and is an excellent communicator.  He let me know when he was on his way to look at the job to provide the estimate and when he and Rob were on their way to do the work.  Mike and Rob are very patient, knowledgeable, experienced, and productive.  I was very happy with their work and professionalism.  I will be using them again for both small and more complex renovations.

    Excellent Service.

Showed up exactly when they said they would

I had purchased the incorrect faucet for kitchen and they returned the incorrect item to Home Depot for me and purchased the correct one, it was a challenging job due to corrosion on the fixtures. Nevertheless they completed all tasks in an excellent fashion and within the allotted time. Cleaned up after themselves.

I would definitely hire them again

They insulated a crawlspace and cleared a front porch of overgrown ivy. They showed up on time, offered advice on getting the job done correctly, made a run to Home Depot for an item I'd missed in providing the necessary materials, and yet still finished the job far faster than I'd expected. I inspected it - it was done perfectly.

The repairman removed the old outside hose and installed the frost free hose. He drained the sump pump and re glued the Pvc pipe that goes from the sump pump to outside. Then he took off the lever to the sink and installed the repair kit I received from delta faucets for my leaky kitchen faucet. The work was done quickly and neatly.

Before buying the big deal which was 349.00 for 8 hours of handyman services, I sent an email to explain my project. Project was to remove existing board decking from 12x12 deck and replace with new decking. Approx 24 deck boards. Company did not respond to email. I called after a few days to follow up. Company rep, Erin, said she needed to discuss with their estimator. I called back after a few days and estimator believed 8 hours may not be enough time and likely 2 persons would be needed. Labor cost would instead be 700.00 for two persons. Discussions with Erin were very pleasant but that was more than i wanted to pay so I did not compete the deal.

Bruce and his team showed up on time with all the tools needed ready to do the job.  He was polite, professional, and very thorough.  All windows were finished within a couple hours and the work sites cleaned up very well once complete.  While at hour home, we also had Bruce give us an estimate on finishing a bathroom (roughed in, but not a working bathroom).  He gave us a fair price and was very responsive to our questions/concerns.  We will be using him for that job as well, but I will leave a separate review once that work is done.  Definitely recommend Bruce and his team!

He was on time for the intial assessment, offered cost-effective solutions and invaluable advice. We were unable to have the renovations done at that time - but he would be the right company for the job.
