    Mark L. did a great job repairing my front steps. He got back to me right away and scheduled a time to examine the steps and give me an estimate. I had had them repaired by other masons twice before only to have the bricks start coming loose within two years. Mark was able to diagnose the source of the problem and come up with a detailed proposal and estimate within 24 hours. I had been waiting for weeks for two other masons to provide me with their estimates which were actually a bit higher than the one Mark provided. He got on the job right away and removed all the old brick work and the underlying cement that had deteriorated so badly. Then he took careful measurements, constructed forms, and formed new concrete to provide me with a level and even foundation. Next he went to a quarry and selected the best blue stone he could find and sliced five big slabs to go on top of the repaired foundation. It was such a simple and elegant solution and I've already gotten a lot of compliments from my neighbors about the new look. I found Mark to be trustworthy, reliable, helpful and friendly -- and also reasonable in terms of cost. He was also prompt and did what he said he would do when he said he would do it -- how often does that happen these days?

    I utilized the coupon available on their website for 5 days of handyman service at a vacant house I am getting ready to put on the market. I had a 840 square foot house that I needed to have painted. I purchased the necessary supplies, but was told the paint I had was the wrong kind. That's fine, I understood the logic behind needing different paint. However, I had purchased two 5 gallon buckets of the wrong paint. One was opened by myself, so that was a wash, but then Myriad opened the unopen bucket. So now I'm unable to return either bucket. Now this was an accident, I get it, but all that was offered was a 'Oh, sorry'. And if that was my only complaint, that would be fine. My schedule was for 5 days of work, but I was told twice that they had someone call out and they would have to extend my time. Again, I get it, stuff happens, but it just all adds up to a lot of unprofessional behavior. There wasn't one handyman that came for the painting, it was different people scheduled each day. For some reason, Myriad workers did not communicate with each other, and I received a call at the beginning of the day to ask "What was done? It looks like some areas have been painted." When I expressed my frustration at this to Myriad I was told "For the online coupons, it's the homeowners job to be the project manager and discuss each day with the handyman." This expectation was not set prior to scheduling. If I had known that, I would have gone to the location at the end of each day to assess what had been done so I could direct the next worker. I assumed that my project was being handled. As it relates to the painting - I have a 840 square foot one story rancher with an open basement. The house is vacant. No furniture to move. Completely empty. All rooms had been patched if needed, so no spackling was needed by Myriad. In 5 full days, Myriad was not only not able to complete the job, but did a very poor job in the areas that were 'complete'. I would have preferred to have less complete overall then the large portion of poor workmanship they did. The walls that they viewed as done are just so clearly terrible. I have photos to back up these claims. Not only was the paint job done very poorly, but there was paint on my floors, cabinets and windows in a total of TWENTY EIGHT places. When I informed Myriad of this, they asked for photo proof, which I was immediately able to provide. They then offered to send someone over to remove paint, which they did (which is why I'm giving them two stars as opposed to one star), but the fact I had to tell them was just shocking. Some of these spots were SO obvious - they workers clearly knew they did it, and chose not to fix it as they went, which is about the level of work that seems par for the course. Overall, I have hired someone to FIX the poor job that Myriad did. Do yourself a favor - do not be fooled by the low price. You get what you pay for, and I'm now paying for trying to be frugal. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking to have a professional job done. The owner insists he feels the work done was professional and would only require a minor touch up. He also has insisted that the home owner is responsible to be onsite through all repairs to guide the project. In this case, I was supposed to be onsite to ensure my project of 'paint all the walls and ceilings with getting paint on the carpet' was actually completed.

    I was not home while he was putting in my ceiling fan. When I got home the ceiling fan was completely in and all the work was done. The work area was cleaned up and everything worked perfectly. He was very polite and very professional, and I would recommend him to anyone.

    Excellent work! Stayed true to estimates for work performed. Arrived on time or early, completed work as promised. I especially liked his ideas about flooring, etc. as I really didn't know exactly what I wanted, and all of his suggestions worked perfectly! Also helped with picking out items at Home Depot.

    we purchased a 2 hour deal. the office called to question what was needed and confirm time and date. Worker arrived as scheduled. We gave worker a list. he came to us prior to the 2 hours stating he finished the list so we allowed him to leave. Upon walking thru the house we noticed he did not do one thing on the list. We called the office being that we allowed him to leave prior to the two hours we paid for under the ideas he completed all. no one answered we left a voice message, no one called back. We tried to call 2-3 more times in the following days and left messages again no one called back. The worker did good work however we are unpleased with the lack of response once the worker left.

    I didn't like that the owner didn't measure all of the shutters that were being replaced. He measured one shutter and told us the size shutters we needed to order based on that one. After we ordered and painted the shutters, the guys who were installing the shutters told us that some of the shutters were too long and they would need to be cut down. I found that completely unprofessional. I would never trust him to give an estimate for another job because I don't know if he will be too lazy to take accurate measurements.
    Also, the first day the guys were here to install, they went to lunch and never came back. We later found out the circumstances, but if we did not call the owner to find out where the workers were and when they would be back, we would have wasted the rest of our afternoon waiting for them to return.
    I thought the workers did an excellent job of painting and hanging the shutters. We are very happy with the result. I just think the owner needs to finesse his professionalism and business etiquette if he intends to make lifetime customers.

    I purchased a handyman Special.  We communicated in advance about the requested work.  I opted for 2 people for 4 hours instead of 1 for 8 hours.  Explanations of the jobs and materials were very clear and reasonable.  Great work ethic and working relationship among his crew. Came ready to work!  Cleaned up afterwards.  I will definitely call on him again in the future.

    Phil contacted me with little regard for customer service.  He gave me the impression that the plumbing job I needed  was too small for his company to even be bother with.   I had no Idea what the problem was I just know I had a leaky shower which was destroying my floor and ceiling below it. I was informed by Phil  that if I was not getting a new shower installed then they were not interested.   I said that's why I called  your company so you could tell me if I needed a new shower or not.   His response was even if you do need a new shower we won't be able to get to you for 5 or 6 months from now.   Then he suggested I call my home owners insurance to get some names of plumbing companies that other home owners have used.. Or call some handy man.   OMG   I feel my money spends just like any other PERSONS'.

    I submitted the below review on June 23, 2014 and the provider responded he never did any work for Donna Wirt.  He did work at my home 2304 Russell Avenue, Gwynn Oak, MD 21207 for Carol Resnick and Donna Wirt.  Before responding, the company should search for the address and not a person's name.  I was home the day the work "was completed".  It is still incomplete as of today, June 28, 2014.  The owner is trying to make me look like a liar and a cheat and I am no such thing.  If I could attach pictures of the doors I would.  Here is Myriad Home Improvement & HandyMan Services, LLC:

    We do not have any record of completing work for Donna Wirt. Therefore we are unable to provide any dialogue. Angies please research this review.
    The company told us what supplies to purchase: size of doors, wood
    for framing, molding, hinges.  The company provided the screws.  The
    cost was to be $269.00.  The installer was punctual and polite.  The
    first day he said we needed to get different doors because what we had
    was too heavy and unnecessary.  He cutout the portion of the walls where
    the doors were to be installed.  For the first door, he  attached a
    2x2 strip of wood to an existing floor-length piece of wood so he would
    have something to attach the hinges to but the wood didn't go all the
    way to the floor so it was not sturdy.  He used screws to attach the
    molding!  He should have used finishing nails.
    He had to come back another day because he was incompetent for this job AND we had to pay $295.00 for the additional day.
    The second day he came (a week later at our request) he spent a great
    deal of the time contemplating what to do.  I was there and witnessed
    this.  At one point he said "I got it!  Now I know how to do this". 
    I asked him if he thought he might not be able to complete the work.  He
    assured me we would be happy with everything when he was done and it
    would be a professional job.  He didn't know what he was doing.  Neither
    door was professionally done and neither is acceptable.  He ran out of
    molding and that is unfinished even today.  He ruined one of the doors
    he told us to buy so that cannot be returned.  We had him redo one of
    the doors and it didn't make any difference.  He left and has never come
    We complained to the owner of the company and he make all kinds of
    excuses and never offered any compensation.  We told him we would put
    this experience on Facebook and file a report with the BBB and he
    said "Go ahead.  I'll submit a response".
