    We called Landers and they had a technician here the next day. He knew immediately where to look. A chip on the main control board had burned out and, because of the age of the machine, the parts needed were no longer available. The technician was courteous, but above all, extremely knowledgable. I would call Landers again in an instant.

    I have a contract with them and any time I have an appliance that needs to be repaired, they come and fix it. It's a little weird because making appointment with them it's like having a root canal without any anesthesia or any pain medicine but when they come they do work perfectly. Getting an appointment is the one that is really difficult. The price is reasonable actually. I'm still using them. The workers are very punctual, very well mannered and professional. They leave the area pretty much the exact way they found it.

    That didn't go well, I ended up buying a new washing machine.
    The guy came out about 8:30, 9:00 and he repaired what he thought it was. He didn't test run it because it was so late. I didn't get a chance to test run it to see how it would go. The next morning when I get ready to run the machine it didn't work. It would fill up and it would keep washing and washing, it wouldn't stop. So, he said it was a timing thing and that's what it ended up being. If I had known that the night before I wouldn't have had all that water running down on my kitchen floor because the door is a front load and it locks. It was a mess.

    Washer stopped working around 11am. I tried to diagnose and fix it myself with ideas from i/net. Couldn't so called LG technical for advice. They guided me through a diagnostic procedure, which indicated that the machine needed new part or parts. This was about 12.30pm. They asked if I'd like them to send one of their factory field service mechanics, adding that they could come out today. Told me about minimum diagnostic  charge of $90, repair cost of $150 to $225 (less diagnostic charge) plus parts. I said yes. The mechanic called ahead as requested, arrived about 4.30pm, diagnosed and was able to fix the washer by 5.30pm, 'cause he happened to have the replacement motor required on his truck. And the best news, he said that even though the washer's out of regular warranty, the motor's warrantied for 10 years, so the only cost was the $150 labor. He was extremely friendly and professional. And I got to do the rest of my laundry that same day as planned.

    I've thought long and hard about how much of what happened with Wooten Appliances I would write in this review. The problem was that if I told everyone the degree to which they extended themselves in the name of customer service, everyone would expect that same level of above-and-beyond service and they would go bankrupt. Then again, if I didn't tell everything, then people may not know that there are still service repair companies out there that really give a d*** when an appliance upon which we are dependent suddenly fails.
    I've decided I can't go into all the details -- you wouldn't believe me. I'll just share what made me choose Wooten over other Angie's List A-level providers: Each company I called about fixing my dying refrigerator quoted a service fee of $99. Wooten was the only one that would examine and assess TWO appliances for the same fee. My dishwasher was also on the blink but I had triaged that problem when my fridge went out, but when Wooten took this common-sense approach to customer service, "i.e., We're already going to be there so...," I knew they were the ones for me.
    Interestingly, Wooten did NOT repair my refrigerator. Daryl, the absolute angel-turned-technician, told be point-blank that he could fix it but the likelihood was that the repair wouldn't hold and I would waste my $600. He went into detail about why this was the case until I understood what he meant. Most importantly, I later googled my Frigidaire All-Refrigerator and found the model itself  was discontinued by the manufacturer because of the exact defect Daryl had described.
    How's THAT for putting the customer first?
    Then, it turns out my dishwasher needed a reset. That's it...a reset. Daryl pushed a few buttons and on it came. He could have laid on the floor in front of it, flourished some tools, twisted some screws and wrote me up a handsome invoice, but he didn't.  I sure hope he was demonstrating Wooten Appliance's commitment to customer service when he did so -- I'd hate to get him in trouble if it was just his personal kindness and consideration. But my early- monring and weekend email communications with Melissa in the main office make me confident he was doing just that.
    Keep in mind, I'm not going into all the details. There were additional service calls and time taken and efforts made under some extreme circumstances and at minimal additional expense to get an old back-up refrigerator I had in the basement running long enough for me to hold an important dinner party. All I can say is this: As long as I live in Baltimore and they're doing business, Wooten Appliance will be my service company. If they're not available, whatever I need will have to wait. I wish there was a rating higher than an "A."

    The person answering the phone was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Since this was a rental property she took the information regarding the tenant and also was able to arrange for me to make payment via my credit card. She allowed me to set an upper limit beyond which they would not make the repair and she would mail me my receipt.
    On the day of the service my tenant did not answer her phone. The receptionist called me so that I could see if I could get in touch with the tenant. Ultimately the service guy, Ken, was able to get into the house. He called me after the service to tell me that it was not worth repairing the unit. That was great considering that he could of temporarily fixed the unit, charged me a bunch of money, and then have the fridge stop working yet again.
    Everyone was responsive, professional and friendly. All the things I look for in service providers.

    My A&E expereince has been awful.  I've lost money taking off from work to have unskilled lazy techncians come into my home.  To make matters worse, dipatch reschedules appointments without consulting with you.

    It was very simple, we got an appointment right away, Steve showed up on time, diagnosed the problem right away and had the spare part with him that he needed to fix the washing machine. Very courteous and professional.

    It's been 30 years, so The Dean's have basically helped me re-create my gardens and home. Their prices can't be beat, and the quality is unquestioned. Their prices as shown above are for high-end complex work; often, while they are working for me, they only charge about $10 per hour, and often do small things for less due to my age and handicap. The only B I give them is for their difficulty in determining a set price for a job; they are a bit slow in their estimates, but that's because they will NEVER come back to you to say, ''We need more money.'' Their estimates, when made, are final, and don't ''come out of a can''.
