Electrician reviews in Glen Arm

I highly recommend Mr Electric of central Md. I called to have 2 ceiling fans hung and was told they also do free safety inspections. I live in a home built in the 1930’s so I decided to have the safety inspection done. It was a pleasant experience at every point, from scheduling the service to receiving the wonderful thank you note after the service was completed. The electrician was thorough, polite, and neat. The price was reasonable and I would definitely use this company again.

Shawn was terrific.  He trouble-shot a problem with the pendant light install (due to the wrong mount being used for the last fixture) and came up with a temporary workaround and told me exactly what we needed to make the permanent fix.  He did a fast and great job hanging the mirror--fortunately he had a couple of metal anchors (I only had plastic) that were necessary for hanging such a heavy mirror.  He also gave me info on materials to get for a later job we need done.  Will definitely call Taylormade Homeimprovement again!  Professional, helpful, fast, and well-priced!

I am originally from Switzerland. My Expectations are: High Quality Workmanship, Precision Workmanship, High Quality Materials, Timely Execution of Entire Task, Competitive Pricing.

I engaged six (6) Roofing companies to provide me with Information and pricing for a New Roof and two (2) New Skylights. Five (5) Roofers were from Angie's List, one (1) Roofer was the Original Roofer of 30 years ago. This was a very time consuming process.

Three(3) Roofers were very competitive and it came down to quality Workmanship, References, and if Roofing was their only business. I was not interested in people Remodeling Kitchens, Building additions to a house and Roofing. A new Roof is what I needed, so I chose a Roofer that only does Roofs.  Two (2) Roofers were out of their mind cost wise and not using better products. One (1) Roofer was using inferior products and left the door open for additional charges to the customer later on.

OUTSTANDING describes the QUALITY work carried out by Home Wise Pros.

The Owner Mr. Jay Gleason supervised the entire process. Always courteous, always on time. Always firm. He will do what he says he will do. He will not mislead you. Very honest.

Timely: only 1.5 days with a full crew...Home Wise does only Roofs...they are efficient and good at it.

Clean Up: Home Wise Pros takes every precaution not to damage your slate, brick work and surrounding area to your house. Clean up included a magnet to pick up any unseen nails to prevent you having a flat tire.

Home Wiese Pros removed two (2) layers of old Shingles, replaced two sheets of Plywood, and installed a 40 year Roof Shingle.

In conclusion, during the last thirty years I have engaged many contractors that have made lots of promises, that they never delivered on. It is nice to know, that there are companies like The Home Wise Pros, that actually carry out all of their promises without compromise.

We had a mixed experience with JPS. I wouldn't hire them again for a job of this size.
    The Good:
The scheduler was very pleasant to deal with, she tried to be helpful with recommendations. We were able to get appointments within a week or so of calling. If I had to leave a message, I got a call back the same day.
The electrician, Jeremiah, was easy to work with and had a good attitude despite the bad issues, plus he showed up on time or early and his quality of work was good.
The cost was great, they charged on time and materials.
They got the job done the way we wanted it.
    The Bad:
I requested a quote in advance, the scheduler explained the company works on time and material, so quotes aren't provided, but she did say the owner would be back to me with a rough estimate in advance. I never received one.
On the schedulers recommendation we scheduled for an electrician and apprentice due to the size of the job, plus a full day for both. The electrician showed up on time and got to work, he informed us that he thought the job was do-able in 1 day, but his apprentice would be late since he was backed up on another job (he was hours late). Then they both had to leave early for another job, they didn't finish on day 1.
They came back 1 week later, again with the promise of an electrician and apprentice. Apprentice was a total no show this time, pulled to another job. My husband helped pull wire in an attempt to get the job done in 2 days. To speed things up since the electrician cut a foot high whole the entire length of 2 walls in 1 of the rooms, this was not expected and caused significant increased patching work for us (probably 15 hours of labor on us to repair).
Day 3 (3 weeks later) (this was supposed to be a 1 day thing): Again we were promised 2 guys, this time in writing through email correspondence with JPS. Again, we only got 1 guy. Again this guy was scheduled for another job and tried to leave without finishing mine. I told him if he left again I would call another company, I was done rescheduling with JPS, he got approval to stay and finish.
Our request was to have all electrical replaced, from the outlets back to the panel. On all 3 visits the electrician attempted to shortcut this replacement in order to get through our job and onto his next job. We had to reinforce each time our request for all new wiring. It was clear he wasn't trying to short change us on $, since they only charge for time and materials, not a set up front job cost. However, it was still frustrating that we had to keep reinforcing our request.

They arrived 10 minutes early, & finished 5 hours later. They were very professional & walked me thru each step of the installation. The job was finished to my expectations, & I would definitely use them again.

I arranged for Ryan Electirc to come to my home to perform the work.  I left a mes

sage on voice mail and a call was returned in 15 minutes.  They came out that Saturday to perform the work.  There were 2 guys that came out and they took a look at the room and then quickly started the work.  They finished the job in no time flat and did a terrific job with no mess.  My room looked like it did before they came with the exception of 4 new perfectly positioned recessed lights. The guys were very polite, courteous and professional.

I know that I will have a need in the future for a repair/improvement

that requires electrical.  I WILL call Ryan Electric again.

I used the special offer Aspen electric provided, however I upgraded the panel to a 10 circuit panel and had the outlet installed 70' from the panel near my garage.   Barry came out first to look at the situation.  We set a date and he came out on the day and hour we agreed on.   He did his thing and did not needed any help except of moving tractor and other things out of his way.  He did a terrific job.  Afterwards he explained eveything and offered to come back if I had more question when the generator would arrive.  Thanks.

They were very good.  He found the problem right away and fixed it.  They were courteous, efficient and personable.  I called on the weekend and felt bad for calling so I hung up and he saw my number and called me back with in minutes.  He was nice enough to advise me and cared about helping me.

The design was great but the designer was difficult to work with.  The contractor and daily work crew were outstanding.  They did excellent work, cleaned up everyday before leaving, were courteous and pleasant and gave us a beautiful finished product.  I would not work with this designer again but would recommend the contractor to everyone.
