  • (I should of posted this months ago but since we just moved we have been busy) They came on time to the house. That part was a plus. I asked if I had to be there and they said no, as long as the seller and or someone else was there. My realtor and seller were at the house, they did the three scans and gave a one page report for all three flues. The report had a stamp on it that stated"UNSAFE NOT to be used until repairs are completed" The report looks like it is a report for one flue until you get to recommendations. The recommendation stated that all three flues should be relined due to missing mortar between tiles, office will call with price. I paid for the services over the phone that day because they called my house twice to make sure I was paying. No problem I understand that. I asked if they could mail me the video scan so I can see what they were talking about. The lady said no problem and took my address. I waited a week or two and called again because I did not receive the video scan. They did email the written report to me which was only one page and is considered a visual report. She took my address down again and said she would send it out. They came to inspect the house on 8/17/16. On 8/23/16 they emailed the work proposal for the three flues. It would cost about $3,000 for EACH flue. I still had not received the video scans and now it was weeks later. I called again in October and never got anything. They said they sent the only copy of the video scan in regular mail. How can a company be in business for over 35 years and send an only copy of something in regular mail with out sending it certified or something to track the package? I was livid. I paid $720 dollars for what? Not only that, if they sent a flash drive wouldn't that mean they have it on computer to? the report they sent was one page and how do I know they really took the video? They never said it was best for me to be there when the guy was inspecting it. This house had lots of inspections and I was very busy so if I did not have to be there I wasn't going to. Anyway, I was very angry about not getting the scans and I called the owner to get my money back because I never received the product. The owner talked to my realtor who tried to get my money back but he was very nasty with her and yelled at her and got mad when she said she was going to recommend that we go to small claims court to get our money back. I called weeks later to ask for my money back. He was not nice on the phone and when I I said I was going to write him up on Angie's list he got very mad and yelled at me. He got nasty on the phone and refused to give me a refund. I explained that I never received the video scans and how am I to know that they ever did the scan. He said to me , " Not to be rude but how do I know that you are not lying about getting the video scan. I said," I would not go through this whole debacle to get a refund this is a mess and not the way a business should respond to their customer. We ended the conversation where he was going to give me half my money back. However they should of refunded the whole cost of the three video scans and not just refund the regular visual inspection. So in the end I got half my money back, no video scans and a one page hard to understand paper report on three flues. I had the chimney reinspected by another company and it turns out that they did a video on their phone and I could see all the details. Plus this other company discussed the chimneys with me for an hour and a half and did not charge me a thing. This other company also said that two of the three chimneys were safe to use. The third chimney has a wood burning insert and that was so old that if we used it then it would need to be relined. I saved a lot of money by going with the other company. Honesty goes a long way with my loyalty. Do not use Piccadilly unless you don't mind spending money on things you don't need or you don't mind being talked to like a respectable customer.

  • Did a terrific job!  Took apart our wood stove and gave it a thorough cleaning.  Also swept out our flue.  Checked out fireplace flue too and said it did not need cleaning this year.  We appreciated their honesty and thoroughness.

  • Showed up on time took great care to protect all my surfaces from ash. Took the time to explain what he was doing step by step and answer all my questions. I don't remember how much I paid but it was very reasonable.

  • Chimney Tek came...gave us a reasonable estimate and we said ok.  

    They came the following week (as soon as they got the parts).

    Repaired flashing & sealed.

    Replaced crown.

    Joints of the brick needed grinding out and repaired.

    After letting the crown set and dry, they returned the next week and removed the framing from the crown and cleaned the bricks.

  • While out for the cleaning they determined that the cleaning wasn't needed but that there were some major repairs that needed to be addressed before the chimney could be used safely. They also determined that the wood stove we wanted to use  (in addition to the fireplace) was damaged and could not be repaired. The guys doing the work were respectful, cleaned up after themselves, and were very patient in explaining everything that needed to be done. While the need for repairs was completely unexpected they had pictures of each section that needed repair and explained why the repair was needed and what would happen if the repair wasn't completed.

  • We were pleased with this company and would use them again and recommend them to others.  We knew we had an issue with our chimney that was not included in the price of the deal, and they gave us a reasonable price to perform this service in addition to the cleaning.

  • Overall, the project went well from our standpoint.  The owner, Gary Howard, Sr., provided detailed explanations of every phase of the work.  The proposals were clear and complete.  All changes to the job scope were documented and agreed beforehand.  Several unexpected tasks were handled graciously and without additional charge.  For example, when removing the old brick patio, the concrete pad under the bricks was found to be as much as 24" thick is some places - an unpleasant surprise that required additional time and equipment to remove.  And the temperatures that week hovered around 100 degrees.  It was brutal!  But the workmen were good-natured and polite throughout.  Care was taken to minimize collateral damage to the lawn and shrubs.  Daily and final clean-up were good.  Mr. Howard on several occasions made suggestions that reduced our cost and at his expense.  He was at the job site almost every day.  Six months have passed since all the work was completed and we are very pleased with the finished product.  We will contract with Perry Hall again.  Based upon our experience, we can recommend Mr. Howard and his company.

  • Mr. Benton was very responsive. Delivered same day as called. I rated the quality a B because the wood is a mix of seasoned and unseasoned or slightly less seasoned. We have used him for the last 3 winters and will continue most likely. I like that we don't have to be home when the firewood is delivered. All went as expected.
