AJW Home ImprovementThe two workers (John and Isaias) did excellent work and were focused and diligent while on the job during the two-day period. The work they did was top-rate, and they also pointed out a missing downspout and fixed that (got a new one and installed it) as well as the scheduled work. AJW Home ImprovementWe had a wide range of tasks that needed to be done around our house, and we saved a lot of time and money by having JW do all of them, rather than hiring multiple separate firms. Kevin and Soren did an excellent job -- they did quality work, worked efficiently, and and were good to communicate with. Jesse did an excellent job helping us define the scope of our project and identify what needed to be done (and what didn't need to be done). Kevin even made a couple extra trips to complete some electrical work that proved to be more complex than we anticipated. They had great ideas when it came to the layout of our small kitchen to maximize storage. When it came to finishes, they provided great options that fit within our budget and took our kitchen to the next level. They recommended adding a feature wall and certain moldings that were true to our historic home's aesthetic. They were fantastic when it came to transforming our unfinished carpark into a drive that was designed so beautifully, we use it as a patio as well! Would definitely work with them again!- Nicole B.

AExterior MedicsI didn't hire Exterior Medics but I'm leaving a positive review because Tom was so helpful and honest. Another mason gave me an estimate and recommended repointing my wall. Tom looked at it and said that it would be possible to do some touch-up but it really was not needed. Tom also reviewed a roof drainage question I had and helped me understand what was going on, but indicated it was not the type of work that they did. It's rare to have a contractor who is straight with you and doesn't try to gin up something to sell you. I would definitely call Exterior Medics again when I had work to do.- Gavin B.

ACapital Masonry LLCI was so impressed with Capital Masonry, LLC. It was a great all around experience with the staff, the communication, and the outcome of the projects. Every area was handled with expertise and professionalism. They constructed boulder steps along the side of my house, down a steep slope. The steps look amazing! They also fixed deteriorating joints on my window sills, cracks on my front steps, as well as on my patio. The end result with all the other repairs were a smooth, professional looking finish. BThere are two different teams that do these services, so the dryer was scheduled first, and that guy also did the on-site estimate for the gutter cleaning dryer vent- cleaned the vent, but did not clean the dryer itself, $150 gutter cleaning-for 2-story single family home, cleaned gutters, performed water check to look for leaks, but did not find any leaks, $400 Pros- easy to reach, were able to schedule gutter cleaning within one week, while most other companies were scheduling 3 to 4 weeks out Cons- on phone, was told starting price for gutter cleaning was $150. Once the estimator came out it went up to $400- quite an increase! I was not home, so called back to ask for an explanation on the price increase, the woman I intially spoke with became very defensive when questioned, and finally stated the $150 was the starting price for a townhouse, but... I had told her on the initial phone call that the house was a 2-story single family home with walkout basement, so the back gutters were 30 feet high...so I felt that they were misleading on the inital pricing. The company I have used before gave me a quote of $250, but could not get me on their schedule for 3 weeks. In the end, I was willing to pay a higher price to just get it done within the week.

FOn March 12th and 13th 2020 MCP Chimney installers were replaced an existing knee wall in my back yard. I discovered my AC was not working in May 2020 and contacted my Home Warranty company who sent a technician on June 2, 2020. The HVAC tech was unable to determine an issue with my outdoor AC Condenser and reported to me it would be $680 for a line test and approximately $1500 to replace the line if that was even the issue. My Home Warranty would of course not cover this charge. I decided to replace the system after spending an excess of $1200 on refurbishing the condenser in April of 2019. In June BGE Home came to my home to replace my system where the installer reported to me that the" intake line was the worse pinched line he had ever seen." I could not for the life of me understand how this happened and only could assume it was related to replacing the retaining wall but had no evidence. I was archiving my pictures in my cell phone November 23,2020 and found the pictures that I was taking as the work was being performed on my knee wall. When blowing the area up on my phone it was obvious that the intake line had been re-caulked between March 12th and 13th. I contacted the owner Michael Pentifallo on November 30th where he contacted me immediately, he said he would speak to his installer of 12 years and get back to me. Michael Pentifallo did contact me again on 12/1/20 were he acknowledged that he spoke to the installer Jamie, and of course he said he knew nothing about it. He also said he went to my property on November 30th 2020 without my consent or knowledge, chastised me for not reporting this sooner, acknowledged that the caulk did appear different in the photos, but it was not them it was not the way the conducted business & he would see me in small claims court sense I reported it so late and had no evidence for him to review on site. How would I have evidence if it was discovered as the unit was being replaced? If his installer had been honest this matter would have been quickly resolved.

AWe highly recommend SLG Masonry Construction -- the work was excellent and Santiago was a pleasure to work with. We hired SLG to reset the stones in a 200-square-foot patio and to repair a stone walkway with several steps at our house in northwest DC. The patio was reset with a minimal slope to carry water away from our house, and the crew's new arrangement is both attractive and fits with the original style of the patio and walkway. When SLG discovered that the patio was missing a necessary concrete pad, Santiago was able to get a concrete mixer to our house within 24 hours to pour the concrete with a reasonable adjustment to our original cost and contract. SLG had great communication with us from beginning to end, cleaned up the work site every day, and even made a special trip to our house to protect the patio from an unexpected rainstorm!

AI am thrilled with the work provided by WK Home Improvement. I was flexible with my schedule and Wagner came and started demo ahead of his crew with a small team. On the days for work, there was a full crew working in tandem and doing a good job. On pour day, full crew again doing all the cement placement and smoothing. Finishing was great. Crew came back to remove framing and touch up, build back steps and railing. Clean up was 100% including power washing off some splatter on my railings. There is seed spread with straw to replace the edges where the work was done. This is top notch work. All the details were addressed and Wagner took pains to match the wood work on the deck to the new stairs. I'm completely impressed and look forward to engaging WK Home Improvement for some interior work once the weather turns for his concrete work. I fully endorse their work. Fair prices, great workmanship and expert execution. WK Home Improvement will do a great job for you.

AEddie Lovius promptly and professionally responded to my request for a quotation. He came to the house and took measurements and returned a reasonable quotation to me by e-mail. As it turned out, my project had morphed from one of simple concrete replacement to a combo of hardscape and landscape, so I ended up going with another company that provided both services. I would have had no problem accepting Lifetime Stones quote on the job if my needs hadn't changed.
