Glass Repair reviews in Germantown

  • From start to finish M Zuckerman contracting did a superior job. Mike was incredibly patient while I chose materials (and changed my mind several times!). Mike and all of his workers we punctual, polite and knowledgeable. The design an execution were top-notch, met or exceeded my expectations. At the end of each work day, the area surrounding their "work zone" was cleaned up, allowing me to comfortably live in my home during the renovation. I expect to us this contractor in the future, for the remodeling of my master bathroom. I have referred, (and will continue to refer), M Zuckerman Contracting LLC to friends and family.

  • We're repair house for sale and had to repair/replace 14 windows. Andrew and Glenn are exceptionally knowledgeable and skilled at glass and window repair. They were very conscientous and courteous throughout.

  • Mr. Handyman's technician completed all these tasks quickly and professionally. he arrived on time (and insisted on wearing booties even though they were not necessary). I would not hesitate to call them again.

  • Overall, this project went very well.  They had an opening in the schedule and were able to start a week earlier than originally planned.  The demolition for the guest bathroom went fast and they got started on the powder room (1/2 bath) also the first week.  The only problem that occurred was that despite telling both the manager and the workers multiple times that the guest bathroom needed to be finished before the master bath was started, I came home to a completely demolished master bath before the guest bathroom was finished.  Luckily, I have a third full bath downstairs that I could use.  So it ended up not being a big issue except it was not anticipated.

I will say the work done was exceptional and they were very fast.  I think the original plan was for the full project to take 6 weeks and it only took a little more than 3.  The workers were respectful and asked questions before anything was done, so nothing has had to be redone.  In all the bathrooms, all fixtures were replaced and it all looks very good. Amongst the items: I had them add a shower door to the tub in the guest bathroom and they replaced the shower door in the master bath.  They added an extra outlet in the guest bathroom also.  I am very pleased with how everything looks and a couple of weeks after completion, I have not encountered any issues or problems.

I recommend working with KBR if you need to have your bathrooms remodeled.

  • We took estimates from three other companies. Their estimate was most competitive. Tom (the owner) came to take the measurements, most pleasant guy. I called him a couple of times with questions and he was very pleasant. The installers came on time and were very efficient. A couple of weeks after the installation, there was a squeaking noise from the door. I called and talked to Devon, another pleasant owner of the company - who was very helpful in making a convenient appointment for his crew to come back and fix. They came back to replace a hinge and all good for now.
I would highly recommend the company.

  • I think these folks are the cat's pjamas and would definitely use them again.
I did my  thorough research beforehand and got 6  quotes ranging over 1000 in price.  (the highest said it included a 20% coupon for parts and labor.  Bel Pre's quote was near the bottom, and the best for what was included.   I also got a quote to install it myself.  It would not have saved any money and after watching the installers, there is no way I would take on a project like that.
Bel Pre was the only one who used 1/2" glass all around  with 3/8" door as their standard installation.  the rest were 3/8"  panels with 1/2" on the door only.  Bel Pre's makes installation more sense.
My shower is large with a step up the side to accommodate a sitting bench requiring a special cut.  All the other installers said I needed to run a U-Channel along the top as well as the bottom because the panel as so large.  It would have detracted from the physical beauty of the shower.  But when they came to measure, a wonderful guy named Peter looked at the existing set up and determined that if he changed the layout, he could eliminate the top u-Channel.  The new quote was enough lower in price that I bought the ShowerGuard treatment which was on sale for 1/2 price  (normally $700,-750).  And the shower is gorgeous!
If you can afford it, I highly recommend the ShowerGuard.  I have now used the shower about a dozen times and after it dries without any cleaning on my part, the glass still looks brand new - no beads, drops, etc.  Just love it.
Could not be more pleased or recommend Bel Pre more highly.
P.S.  we did remove the old neo-angle shower glass ourselves .

  • The main bath had to be remodeled to a handicapped accessible bathroom.  The price was very expensive for an 8x10 bath with a shower only-we did not order top of the market materials.  We reused our own vanity and mirror, all of our bath accessories like some of our towel bars and hooks, and purchased the tile accents ourselves as well as our own own overhead light fixture.  The contractor reduced the amount of tile that was in the bath to the roll in shower only, though we understood the same amount of tile would be used.  The contractor removed the hot water heat unit from the old bath, and never replaced it back, though they "said" they would provide heat in the new bath (the designer said she would put in a "toe kick" heat under under the vanity, but it never came).   When I came to them, I told them we had a $25K budget and a tight timeline to delivery, and at the end, they were $15000 over budget at finish.  I had asked at the first meeting if they had experience with handicapped size standards, and the designer said it was no problem they were well versed in all types of handicapped construction requirements.  It was clear this was not the case, since the handicapped accessible door had to be re-framed as it was not large enough for a wheelchair to fit through, and the barn sliding door had to be reordered because it was too small once the correct sized door for handicapped access was redone. They put in a lip on the roll in shower, that had to be redone to allow a wheelchair to actually roll in.  The broke the shower sliding door which had to be replaced at their cost.  They finally agreed to extend tile so it joined with the shower door-otherwise, the wet door would shut to drywall, which would obviously become moldy if left that way.  The fought us ever step of the way, and in some cases, they charged us for their mistakes.  There is still painting along the door that was not finished, but we eventually told them to not bother with it, just to get them to complete the work, since their contract said they would be done in 13+ days, and it was--we started in Oct. 2013, and they finished in Feb. 2014.  The original designer was a disaster.  She was the one who overpromised tile and heat source, but her bid and change orders were always needing further details.  When we would press her by phone, she would say our concerns would be taken care of, as if it was a basic pledge on their part, but later, she would say "you didn't get it in your change order" when we had called for just that reason.  We had two "meetings' having to rehash "who said what" even in cases where adding back in heat, or having the door fit a wheelchair seemed to become a debate.  If you go with this company, you should not sign anything if you use this company, unless every detail is spelled out.

  • The person who came to evaluate the jobs needed was very personable and professional. Darren, the young man who did all the work was capable to perform all the tasks needed. He even used his ingenuity in installing the window shade since the fixtures supplied with it did not work. I was extremely pleased with all that was done.

  • From start to finish the process was easy and proffessional. They come to your home, explain what the offer, tell you the pricing and set up an appointment date to have the work done. The Crew that came was proffessional and they cleaned up after themselves. Everyone we talked to throughout the process was knowledgable and kind. We would definitely use them again and plan to when we have one more window replaced.

  • The glass shelves were cut perfectly and available for pickup on the date they were promised. This is second time we used Hutchison Glass and we had excellent service and an excellent product both times. Highly recommended for glass work.
