Water Softener Installation And Repair reviews in Gaithersburg

    The Water Specialist Inc
They're an A without a doubt. They come every year.  The technicians are always knowledgeable and easy to deal with, polite, professional. They come once a year and we had them out twice last year because they replaced the yard hydrant, that's the gizmo that brings the water out the well without running it through the house. Responsiveness is very good. They come within the window or very close to the window that they give you for two hours so that's all good.

    Benjamin Franklin Plumbing
The outside hose bib was replaced, but I had to call back and have them return because the hose bib leaked when the water was on but the hose was not in use.  They fixed that on their second visit.
One thing I did not like was the fact that they put a large sticker with their name on it over the existing sticker that was put there by the company that had installed the hot water heater. The original sticker had the install date of the hot water heater.
The findings of the inspection was that the shut off valves should be replaced, but I thought that the cost was too much for each one and that there was no discount for doing many of them at the same time. I did not have them do that work as all of the valves were working and none were leaking.

UPDATE#: The company rescheduled the service for the estimate. I am happy that the company made this right.

I was informed by the customer representative that the estimate to place an water pan under the w/d would be performed at the same time as the fireplace service. The estimate was not performed as promised, and I was told by their service manager that they had to send a plumber back to the property for additional $35. I was later told that another plumber had to perform an estimate to place a plastic pan under a w/d unit.

    Culligan of Maryland
I have mixed feelings regarding experience with Culligan.  We purchased a house with an existing water softening system and a reverse osmosis system.  Previously scheduled 4-hour windows were missed and rescheduled, and communication with the company was inconsistent depending on employee reached.
For a recent challenge in which a seal broke and allowed water to cycle continuously 24-hours a day, I used the Culligan's online Contact Us page to request support.  I did not hear back within a week, so I called; the individual said they saw no record of my request, and they entered one on my behalf, stating I would receive a call back the following week.  I received no further communication until approximately one month later when Culligan called to remind me I was due for an annual service check.  At that time, I requested support for the leaking water softener, which we had manually turned off indefinitely.  On the Friday prior to the appointment, a Culligan representative called to let me know that a technician would arrive between 8-9am Monday morning.
A technician arrived at 9:30am Monday morning after I left for work.  He was polite and intelligent in communicating with household members in my absence, and called me near the end of the job to discuss details.  There was discussion of price and potential miscommunication; however I was advised to call Mindy (a manager) in the near future.
A call to Mindy allowed me a chance to vent historical frustrations with the company's customer service, communication and pricing.  She attempted to remain professional, but we both were somewhat frustrated.  Mindy attempted to counter each point I made, for example, suggesting that I contact the franchise directly instead of the Culligan main website.  While I appreciate that inside tip, this is but one sign that important organizational inefficiencies exist - it should be seamless to the end customer, otherwise you should not be using the name "Culligan".  When I suggested that prices were outlandish, her response pointed out the quality of Culligan systems and parts were high ($149 just to visit and see what's up, and THEN costs for whatever needs to be done), and also that the expenses such as gas, technician rates, insurance, were such that the company (or franchise) could barely break even.  In my work consulting on organizational operations, service delivery and IT service management, this response indicates to me that either: a) the franchise is not really barely breaking even, or b) there are very likely significant process, communication, logistic and sourcing (does a seal pack really cost Culligan close to $150?) inefficiencies that are being passed on to the customer (as well as requisite marketing expenses to maintain Culligan as a brand name).  It almost makes me want to create a competing business just to make the market more liquid and competitive.  I must give credit to Mindy for handling an impromptu call with a frustrated customer and maintaining her position while ultimately persuading me to buy-in that the company (or just the franchise) has made, and continues to make, significant internal improvements, including resource management and training, and implementation of an automated ticketing and response system.
To be honest, I was close to simply shutting off my Culligan systems based on my personal expense-to-value perception, but Mindy and the well-spoken technician combined to give me confidence that the company is truly improving.  For the time being, I will remain a customer and watch for the promised improvements - the water really is terrific...

    Pristine Water Treatment
From the initial testing of my water (quite acidic) to the installation of the water neutralizer I received outstanding service. Everyone that I spoke with was very courteous. If they didn't know an answer they promised to call back within 10-30 minutes - they ALWAYS did!
Jared, the gentleman who came out to test my water was polite, knowledgable, and very personable.
Michelle who answered many questions and arranged the installation was extremely nice and professional.
Roy and his assistant (so sorry I forgot the gentleman's name) were fantastic. The installation went smoothly and the unit is working perfectly. I had a small issue with a lingering smell of plumbing glue in the water lines but Roy talked me through how to properly clear the lines and all is well.

I f you want a professional, courteous service at a fair price (I shopped around and their pricing is very competitive)
then you can't go wrong with Pristine Water Treatment!

Solutions in Aqua Services/American Water Pro
We can't say enough positive things about Solutions in Aqua Services/American Water Pro.  We recently moved into a home on a well with highly acidic water that, among other things, was corroding the copper supply pipes throughout the home.   The acidic water was leaving blue-green stains in all of our bathrooms and sinks and had the potential to cause pinhole leaks in our pipes.  Further our water pressure tank was approximately 25 years old and on its last legs.  To complicate matters even more, the tank was wedged in an extremely tight corner next to our HVAC unit, making access to the tank nearly impossible.   Finally, our whole house filter and UV filter were in rough shape and in need of an upgrade.  Given the circumstances, we searched high and low on Angie's List, reading hundreds of reviews of water treatment companies.
From the moment I contacted Solutions in Aqua Services/American Water Pro, I was extremely impressed by their professionalism and responsiveness.   The owner of the company (Denise) requested that I email her several photos of our existing equipment and set-up.   Shortly after that, the other owner of the company (Gene) visited our home and spent close to an hour explaining the installation process and where he thought it would be best to install the new equipment.   Once we received a written estimate detailing the scope of work, Denise spent a lot of time on the phone explaining the quote in detail and responding to my questions to make sure I was comfortable with every aspect of the job.  Because of the size and complexity of the job, we initially were very nervous about it - my wife likened it to a body receiving an organ transplant!
We were extremely pleased that Gene performed all the work along with his assistant, Mark.  They spent four full, continuous days at our home removing the existing equipment and installing the new equipment.  During the entire install process, they communicated regularly with us about their progress.  We were amazed at how the made removal of the old pressure tank seem effortless (even though it wasn't).  They even went so far as to make sure the water was turned back on every evening when they finished for the day.
Now that the work is complete, we are pleased to report that the finished product is second to none!  It's been approximately five months since the system was installed and it has worked flawlessly.   The blue-green stains are now gone, we have much softer and cleaner water, and Gene even managed to improve the water pressure throughout the entire house.
To top it off, we've had several other contractors visit the house since the system was installed (including a plumber!) and they all have marveled at how meticulous the work is.    Regardless of the size of the job, you won't be sorry if you hire Solutions in Aqua/American Water Pro!

Solutions in Aqua Services/American Water Pro
If you are looking for great customer service and an expert in water systems, then I strongly recommend that you hire this company.  You will deal with Denise when you call them, and then Gene is the expert techician.  Denise is extremely pleasant to deal with.  And you will be truly impressed with Gene's expertise and demeanor.  I have learned the hard way that you get what you pay for in life.  This company may not be the cheapest, but if you want the job done right, then I strongly recommend that you hire them.

Solutions in Aqua Services/American Water Pro
I needed a well inspection for the sale of our home. They accommodated my schedule and showed up on time. They did a thorough inspection and also performed the annual maintenance on the water treatment system. This system was originally installed by American Water Pro over 12 years ago and they have always serviced it with professionalism and attention to detail.

My Plumber Heating Cooling & Electrical
See above Also, when I was out of town and had my daughter meet MyPlumber for a repair, they wouldn't give my Priority Club discount because 'the discount is for the member, not the address'. How stupid is that?

    Integrity Water Solutions
I called Integrity Water late on a Monday evening in desperate need of having a water softener system replaced the next day in order to go to close in two days on the purchase of a house. Integrity Water answered the call after office hours and I received a call back within an hour by an employee who would fit me into the schedule the next day. They called first thing in the AM to confirm the time of the appointment and called when they were in route (an hour ahead of schedule). They were extremely professional, pleasant to deal with, honest, and flexible. Their unit was a bit more expensive then the one we would have purchased through another company. But their flexibility, timeliness, and professionalism made the transaction worth every penny. We were able to go to close on schedule because of them!
