Optometry reviews in Gaithersburg

Both times that I have been in, I have been very impressed with the doctors. They are very efficient, thorough in their testing, and they don't keep me waiting! They take walk ins, which I think is amazing! They keep updated on all of their machines for testing. Their follow up was just stellar!

The appointment was relatively quick despite all of the patient traffic that was present on a Saturday morning. Dr. Cheng was engaging and informative. I was able to ask questions regarding the annual follow-ups relating to Lasik surgeries since she had previously worked with TLC.

This was for a routine exam. Dr. Glenn has been our family optometrist for years now. We were greeted promptly, and as usual, Dr. Glen was cheerful and efficient. No pressure to use the optician next door or to buy contacts from her if we did not want. We will go back and she is the one for our family.

I visited Dr. Hollier for a routine eye exam. It was easy to get a convenient appointment and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Hollier is also very personable and professional.
During the exam, I mentioned that I was not thrilled about having to wear reading glasses over my contacts and she suggested I try monovision contact lenses to correct both distance and reading. She also suggested a different brand of contacts since I was having problems with the ones I was currently using. Both the new brand and the monovision lenses provided excellent results.

They were okay and fine. Because of the walk in appointment for me, I did a schedule, and they were actually able to take me in about 10 or 15 minutes. The experience was good. It is a very clean atmosphere. The doctor is very hospitable.

I used to wear bifocal contacts but stopped due to blurriness. Dr. Hollier fitted me with mono-vision lenses and adjusted the prescription of each eye so I didn't need bifocals. It took several tries but Dr. Hollier was very patient and finally I can read and see distance at the same time!

I've been with them for quite a few years. They do an extremely thorough examination. I have diabetes so they have to check more than the average person. They are cooperative about getting a timely appointment. It always helps that they take all my insurance and I don't have to pay anything. It is convenient for me and I could walk over. The parking is convenient. She is always cheerful and thorough. She is concerned with my full medical history and not just my eyes. I get exactly what I go in there for. They call to remind me of my appointments so I don't miss them. I see them every February for my yearly appointment.

The optician worked with me but when the glasses came the progressives were not correct. It took awhile to get the next set of lenses and I wore them but my middle vision was not right in one eye. The technician listened to what I was saying and studied the glasses for awhile. He actually found a "wave" where I was talking about and send when they put friction on the lenses sometimes there are waves. He really stayed with me and didn't blow me off. I am still waiting for my glasses to come back. The first time I went was in early November so this has been a long process but I do not think another technician would have spent the time needed nor would have had the insight to find the problem. I will go back to the Eye Center, not just to pick up my glasses! My daughter got glasses during the same time period and they are just fine.

Dr. Ruben did what seem to be a quick and professional examination, informed me, answered questions and it was pretty straightforward and reasonably a good experience. He seems to be professionally confident and interested and communicates with the patient well.

Dr. Chow did what appeared to be a very thorough exam on both of us. She was friendly and warm and my daughter seemed very comfortable with her. I felt like she was careful to diagnose and also to make sure she did not over-correct when determining the correct perscription. She gave me a perscription for each of us, which we could use to purchase glasses at her store or elsewhere. And she was able to run the exam through our health insurance so the price was very reasonable.
I thought the selection of glasses at Crystal Eyes looked nice but was a bit on the pricey side. One pair was comparable in price to one pair at Hour Eyes (across the street), but Hour Eyes had a buy one - get one free special, so we ended up purchasing there. The staff at Crystal Eyes was willing to work with me a bit using our eye insurance discount, but it turned out that pricing elsewhere was still better. However, I would definitely return to Dr. Chow for exams.
