The crew was punctual, worked quickly/meticulously and left our home clean. Mike and Brian were a pleasure to work with. I was surprised how fast the job went. No water in our basement anymore! Sigh of relief when I hear the rain pouring down.

It turned out that the pipe was clogged and the waste was backing up. I found the leaking pipe in the afternoon; Chief was on their way home from another job and stopped to check the pipe. They dug to uncover the septic tank and pumped it out since it was due anyways. They showed me the pipe was solidly clogged at the entrance to the tank. They tried suctioning the pipe both from the tank and from the cleanout side to no avail. Mud was visible at the cleanout which they explained was a sign that the pipe had probably failed. It was getting late by this point so they closed things back up and explained that we would have to use the drains very conservatively that night so that the waste would not back up into the house. The next morning they were back and dug up the cast iron pipe: it had indeed rusted through into pieces. They replaced it and the cleanout with new PVC. They compacted the earth above it and even replanted some small plants they had dug up above it.

I had to shut off the water main to stop the flow of water from the broken pipe and started calling around for who could come and do the repair as soon as possible. Shipley was responsive and asked questions about my general heating status and comfort, which was appreciated. They gave me an early appointment the next morning. Patrick arrived on time, assessed the problem, discussed the options and made the agreed-upon repair right away. Very professional and courteous throughout. He also gave me information on their pricing plans, which cut my repair costs that day significantly. By noon, he had finished, cleaned up, processed the payment and life was back to normal for me, except for some missing drywall in the ceiling of the basement, which I'll have repaired soon by someone else. An excellent experience overall and I plan to use them again.

J&D were punctual, professional and did an excellent job. Several trees were in a precarious position, close to a fence, pool and neighbors shed. The expert crew cut down the 80+ foot trees harming nothing in the surrounding areas. All debris was cleaned up. We were very happy and impressed with this company.

The initial estimate was not consistent with the final scope of the project, which grew as it proceeded, in large part due to an initial misunderstanding of the type of foundation under an addition that replaced what was originally a carport on a concrete pad, and in small part due to some tangentially related follow-up work to a concrete patio that I wanted to have done. The end price seemed fairly good to me -- the owner claimed he was losing money on the project -- but I do not have enough information to evaluate this, so no letter rating on price. The quality of the end result has been very good. No problems for several years. However, I was not impressed by the professionalism of all of the people that I interacted with at The Foundation Expert. Over the course of this project, I encountered a wide range of memorable behavior -- memorable enough that I am writing this review more than four years after the project -- that, in my view, averaged out to fairly professional. I would consider hiring them again.

We had installed 2 drains ourselves using cheap plastic parts from Lowe's and Home Depot. Both drains continued to leak after our repeated attempts. Shawn showed up on time and we found him very personable to work with. We discussed 2 options for correcting the problem and we went with the higher quality, slightly more expensive option. Both drains work very well and we were finally able to use our bathroom again. We have since recommended him to our neighbor who had a much larger problem to deal with. The neighbor came by a few days later to thank us for the referral. He also felt very well taken care of by Elite Plumbers and was very thankful to us for the recommendation.

Unscrupulous, predatory, shyster.  Those are the first words that come to mind when I think of AquaGuard's salesman, Tom Cockey.  My 82 year old mother began having problems with water flooding the basement window well a few weeks ago.  This was a new problem in a 40 year old house.  I could not come out immediately to fix so she called AquaGuard.  Tom Cockey inspected the basement windows, declared the problem was an excessively high water table and quoted $7000+ to install sump pump(s).  He then offered a Black Friday discounted price of $4888.  My brother and I advised her not to authorize work.  Shortly thereafter, I got out to my Mom's house and within minutes determined that work done by fence contractors a few weeks earlier resulted in the drain pipe connected to the downspout being angled retrograde to the house.  Gutter drainage was flooding back against the house and traveling along the exterior wall until it reached the window well.  Problem easily fixed by regrading soil underneath drain pipe.  No sump pump needed.  Furthermore, a sump would not have addressed the issue.  Not rocket science to diagnose.  Simple observation and common sense.  Window wells have remained dry during the several severe storms since my repair.  I would hate to think what would happen to my mother if she did not have her sons on hand to protect her from those who would prey upon the vulnerable.  Shame on you Tom Cockey.  Shame on AquaGuard for employing such personnel.

We have an erosion run-off problem with our back yard partially due to the fact that four of our downspouts drain into the back yard and eventually to an adjacent wooded area and then into a creek.  The second problem is that yards at a higher
elevation than ours drain through our yard to the same area.  There is a swale in our yard through which most of the runoff from the higher elevation yards passes.  This project was to deal with the downspout runoff, specifically to incorporate drainpipe to the wooded area so it would not run through the yard.    To Hometown Landscaping?s credit, they sent out an individual who examined the problem and discussed it with me.  At that point I clearly pointed out that the path for the drain pipe should avoid the swale because going through the swale would just aggravate the erosion problem.  The order states ?as discussed? which to me indicates that we agreed to avoid the swale.  Now the person I discussed it with, or anyone else for that matter, was not there to give crew direction as to what ?as discussed? meant.  The crew arrived and went right to work and began digging trenches.  By
the time I realized that they were there and digging it was too late, not to mention the fact that there was a sever language communication problem.  They routed right through the swale that was, ?as discussed? to be avoided. It has been about a week and with relatively minor rain I am seeing erosion problems in the swale area.  A moderate to heavy rain is going to be a
washout and I will be facing a major investment in erosion control that I did not expect to make.
One could say that I should have insisted that the work order be explicit as to the path of the drain line.  While that would give me more legal recourse, I do not see how the crew would have been informed of that intent in the first place because they took, absence specific guidance otherwise, the most obvious route.
Here is the bottom line: 1) the quality of the work was fine, 2) the price was competitive, 3) onsite management of the project was nonexistent, and 4) if you use them, make sure the details are in writing.

First of all I do have to say that my yard looks amazing they did an awesome job and I would definitely use them again.
The reason I cannot comment on pricing is because of the 4-5 companies I contacted they were the only ones to show up and give an estimate.
    Now some details:
We (my wife and I) recently bought our townhome and after the first storm realized we had a leaky basement, the main problem being water pooling directly against the house (there were other issues we had to address but not within the scope of this review). I worked with Evan on this project and when I called within a day or two he came out and assesed the situation and gave me a rough verbal estimate. This was back in may and he was upfront and told me that they would not be able to come out until around end of june time frame. After a couple weeks I did have to reach out and inquire about the written estimate, which was then promptly given and was also given the date of July 8 for work to begin. Once the eighth rolled around... nothing. Was finally able to get a hold of Evan around 1300 and  he apologized and said they would be out the next day guaranteed. Those minor communication errors are the only strikes against the company. The following day they showed up and got right to work. The job was completed in three days as promised.
As I stated initially my yard looks amazing. The crew worked hard and did a fantastic job. They removed all the old cracked and just really bad looking flagstone, buried a new drain, and laid the new pavers which included two mulch beds as requested. There are only a couple minor cosmetic issues that they promised to rectify (couple of pavers are badly chipped).
It took the a while to be able to come out and do the job, but it was well worth the wait

Jamie, the owner, is great to work with.  He provided ideas and helped us develop a final plan for the walkway and small patio.  We have a detached garage so the walkway goes from the deck about 40 feet to the side entrance at the back of the garage.  His stonework crew was efficient, and very skilled.  They first removed the existing slate walkway that was on a sand base and had shifted a bit over the years.  It also sloped down to the garage and was very slippery in winter.  They dug out the area and poured a concrete base, then installed the flagstone.  The walkway has two curved edges that are perfect, and the crew put in two small steps so the sections would be level.  The crew also ensured that water would drain properly away from the garage.  They took away the old slate, cleaned up everything and even washed down the paved alley behind the garage.  The stone work took three days.  The second crew that tilled the yard and put in sod was also excellent.  They asked about FIOS and Comcast cables.  I knew where the the FIOS cable started and that it was about 8 inches below ground.  They carefully dug up the cable so they would not cut it with the tiller.  They they re-buried the cable.  They also put in an underground 4-inch drainage pipe from a downspout with a pop-up drain near the rear of the yard.  Our yard is not big - the work area was maybe 30' x 40'., so they completed the sod work in one day.
I highly recommend Divine Landscaping.  You will be dealing directly with the owner; he has experienced workers that have been with Divine for years; pricing is very reasonable; workmanship is excellent; cleanup is thorough, and Jamie and his crews pay attention to detail, and ask questions whenever there is an issue to be resolved.  We are very pleased with the final results, and have received many complements from neighbors.  Divine Landscaping is terrific and will be first on our list for future landscaping work.
