Tire Buying And Repair reviews in Gaithersburg

Sometimes what they do and we don't fall for it is they analyze your car, even though you don't ask for it. They try to talk you into an oil change, but we don't want any of that. What I like about them is their tire service. They do other things, and I don't want anything to do with that because I have another place I use.

I needed to replace a tire. I went online to the manufacture. They had a price for the tire replacement from the manufacturer. The manufactures pointed to S and S as a service provider for that tire. I went there and the price was about $90 hire. I actually complained to the manufacturing company and the attorney general because I thought it was a bate and switch. S&S we are independent and we don't have anything to do with them what it says on their website. But the tire was on the car so it was a done deal.

From the unexpectedly quick response to my initial phone call to the welcoming front office experience to the surprise moment when I pulled out my phone to call an Uber only to have Maria tell me they had a shuttle. A great experience overall. I was impressed by the detailed breakdown of the tests and results of the diagnostics before the work began. Very thorough. Very professional. Shout outs to Maria at the front desk and Brenda for the shuttle drive. Thank you to everyone. You all my day easier. Looks like I found my future shop.

First I went to a Mr. Tire and was told that the tire couldn't be fixed and I'd need a new tire.  Then I took it to Universal and not only did they fix the leak for only $10!! I've been driving on that tire for over a year with no problems.  It was quick, easy and cheap.

While doing the MD State Inspection for an '04 Accord we bought in VA, Marty and his shop found severe misalignment of the rear end suspension parts, as well as a bunch of brand new front suspension parts recently installed.

While CarFax didn't find any record of a vehicle accident insurance claim, apparently the prior owner did enough out-of-pocket repairs to pass it off as a trade-in.

Century Auto did heroic measures to try to salvage seized up rear adjustment parts and minimize the overall repair costs.   I even asked about replacing a $200 part on the left side just to make it the same as the matching right-side part that was damaged.   Chuck said we should wait and let the alignment results be the verdict.  In the end, I saved the $200 expense of a needless repairs.

Now all the previous road vibrations (even when the car was on smooth roads) have gone away.  Car rides and tracks almost like a new vehicle.  Chuck even invited us to bring the car back in a month or so to recheck the alignment to make sure everything is staying put.

I was so worried I had bought a lemon, now we're really happy.   Terrific service and a terrific outcome.    Thanks Marty

I have taken my car there before because I know that they do excellent work and very honest as oppose to some of the other
repair shops. The maintenance service included oil and filter, cabin filter replacement, brake inspection, check fluids, and rotate tires.
I was very please with the work and the bill. There is no anxiety when I take my car to Certified Auto Repair....I know my car
    is in good hands.

If I have somebody who is good and watches out for the car, I am willing to pay their price. These guys are great. Any time I take it in they do a thorough check of it. I have used them for years and have never felt that they overcharged me. I have never felt that they have done something that did not need to be done. They were terrific. What stands out the most is their customer service and their attention to detail.

After finding I had a tire half empty, I went to Rice Tire for a repair.  They took a quick look at the tire and because the nails I hit were too close together, the tire couldn't be repaired and would need to be replaced.  Also, since all the tires were will past their warranty, I needed to get a complete set.  We discussed options and arrived on a Michelin tire that they didn't have in stock, but Rey was happy to order it and have the spare put on my car to keep me rolling (all at no charge).  Rey called back the next day to say the tires were in.  I was at a meeting downtown, so I couldn't get back to them until just after 4:00.  Nevertheless they replaced all the tires, checked the alignment (it was a bit out) and got everything straightened out, staying a while after closing to get the job done.
I appreciate their honest approach, not trying to sell me on any unneeded warranties or extra services.  Their prices were also much better than the big chains and competitive with the online sources.  This is my new favorite tire (and service) shop.

Bill and his staff are PHENOMENAL.  I have used him for years and will never go anywhere else for service.  He's professional, friendly, thorough, HONEST and beyond reasonably priced.
    Another example:
My parents were visiting one summer and they had a horrible smell in the car.  Took it to Bill and he said it was something dead (mouse, etc.).  They worked for hours trying to find it and get it out.  Never could BUT he recommended taking it to the dealer because he didn't want to tear the whole dashboard apart unnecessarily and the dealer would have better knowledge how to get in there.  He didn't charge a cent.
They do pickup service in certain cases - distance and dollar value of service, which I find a wonderful thing!  Much rather that then get a loaner, etc., etc.
NEVER hesitate to use Bill's service.  I've recommended him to probably 50 people over the years.

I have not been satisfied with tire retailers around Montgomery Village MD and Germantown MD. Went to Radial Tire in Silver Spring MD. They got the tires we needed and advised I arrive early. Good advice - very popular and lots of customers. Good price, fast work, all very competent. No talk about extras I did not need.
