    Dr Benshir is a neuro-optometrist that works with patients with brain injuries due to stroke, TBI, or other trauma. She is very competent, professional and is one of the best neuro optometrist's in the US. She is one of the most caring, considerate, and creative doctors that we have met. My wife has chronic medical conditions, and we have seen 50+ doctors over the last 7 years. She is the among the best and at the top of the list.

    My Eye Doctor, 1701 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Md
    I use My Eye Doctor in Fredrick, Maryland.  I was there about one year and two months ago.  The thing that stood out to me was price.  I felt gouged.  It was over a thousand dollars for an eye exam and contacts.  Then my insurance covered like five hundred dollars of it and I was left to pay the remaining five hundred dollars.  It was outrageous.  I will never ever go back to them.  I would tell others they were slow, they were incredibly expensive, the waiting area is okay but it took awhile to get to me.  They do have good hours of operation so you can go in later, that's nice.  I would say find someone cheaper.   I honestly felt so gouged from, and their mark up has been a couple hundred percent over the contacts.  It was horrible.

    Visionworks - South Cleveland
    I like Visionworks. I went for the first one and it had scratches on the lenses so they replaced it. This is the second pair but its the first prescription. They were prompt and used very current measuring procedures. They made a good selection. Its a little store and its okay.

    Dr Algaier is who I usually see although have seen Dr Sclar once and both are excellent !
    They have a wide variety of glasses to choose from and are very helpful in picking out frames. They give you their full attention in picking out frames and give you all the time you need so you do not feel rushed. I was unhappy with my frames initially after wearing them for a day and they allowed me to pick new ones with a small restocking charge. They are always on time and always customer oriented. You may want to call at least a month ahead for your appointment, but this is because they do such good work and I always request evening or Sat appmnts.  I have been going here for several years and will keep going and recommend them to others!

    Be prepared to wait an hour to be seen at Dr. Kracher's, at least if you go in the afternoon (morning may be better?).  That said, Dr. Kracher is very pleasant, as is the staff in the office.  Follow-up phone calls were made, and the exam was well performed.  Entering the office is like taking a step back in time, when doorways were shorter and there were globes in offices.

    Before making the appointment, I verified they took my insurance (which they did). When arriving at the office, I noticed the great selection of frames and the unique architecture and the attention to detail given to the space.
    I did not have to wait upon arriving and was ushered to the initial exam room to go through the basics with the tech. She was knowledgable and went through the steps like it was second nature.
    Then Dr. Maria performed the formal exam. Everything went smoothly and she gave me a number of contacts samples to try before I selected the next supply. I tried the options provided (even the top-of-the-line daily disposables) and called the office to make my selection and order.
    The contacts were available for pickup (they also ship to home) in 2 business days and I picked them up at the store.
    Every interaction was polite, professional and I always felt valued as a customer/patient. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great eye exam experience.

    Dr. Kracher is in a small office in historic downtown. I had to wait longer than I expected for the appointment, but I had his full attention once the exam began. His office staff was friendly in spite of having to deal with some fairly annoying computer issues.
    Dr. Kracher is older and was in the military for many years, so his manner is very no-nonsense but not unfriendly. I will see him again.

    The staff always greets whoever comes in. If they're busy, the staff let's you know they'll be with you as soon as they can. Dr. Gan is punctual, so there's usually little waiting for the eye exam. Dr. Gan also remembers his clients from one visit to the next; well, he remembers me. He takes time to get to know you.
    The eye exam is a typical eye exam. Dr. Gan doesn't make me feel rushed in any way; he takes the time needed, talks to me, and makes sure I'm happy with the prescription.
    After the eye exam, I always end up needing a new pair of glasses, so that's when I start going through their selection of frames. They have a great selection: it's not huge ... it is quality and there's something for everyone whether you want traditional, trendy, etc.
    The staff assists with the frame/lens selection process and purchasing. They are patient and very good at identifying what looks good on someone. They are also knowledgeable about the products. For example, there are many different types of lenses available; and they can answer all my questions.
    This particular time I chose to go elsewhere to purchase my frames/lenses. I went to a big chain store which had a large selection of frames. The first thing I noticed is that getting help is hard. The second thing I noticed about this big chain store is that many of the frames looked cheap. I went with it thinking I'm saving money. So I got frames I liked and went with the lenses I like and am used to (high end progressives). They had my glasses ready in just a few days, which was amazing. I put them on and immediately did not like them. The staff working with me tried to convince me that I can't tell if the glasses work for me that quickly. So I wore them for the next week and continued to dislike them. I even resorted back to my previous glasses several times during the week. I ended up returning those glasses (thanks to a 30 day money back guarantee) to that big chain store.
    I went back to Urbana Eye Care, got a terrific frame, and love my lenses. The prescription is exactly right and they work fantastically. Plus, I didn't spend any more than I did at the big chain store (which I thought would have cost less).

    The office is wonderful- an old row house downtown. The office staff were very friendly, and helpful. They made sure I filled out all the paperwork correctly and asked if I had any questions. Dr. Kracher was also very friendly and helpful. He was very thorough with the eye exam and medical history. He took the time to explain everything he was doing, answer my millions of questions and explain my prescription. Wonderful experience!

    The appointment went great from beginning to end. Upon scheduling an appointment, Walmart was friendly and had a convienent time slot for my visit. When arriving to the appointment, I was shown the waiting area, which was clean and orderly. The assistants immediately gave me 2 forms to update. As soon as I was done filling out the forms, I was taken to complete two eye tests, which were comfortable, quick, and easy. Then, the eye doctor called me into her exam room. She was pleasant and knowledgable. Her tests were thourough and accurate; she was able to answer all of my questions. When picking out new eye glasses, I was not rushed or bothered. Once I had chose my frames, the assistants sat me down, had all of my accurate insurance information, and was able to have my prescription in within one week. To my surprise, my glasses were ready to be picked up within four days and fit perfectly once I got them home.
