    The results were, to say the least, breathtaking. As stated on their website, it was hand stripped, not dipped. It was refinished "old school" using tung oil rather than varnish. (Few refinishers use tung oil. Read more about it on the internet.) It is much more labor intensive, but the results are excellent. The mahogany was so dark that it was difficult to see the wood grain. The tung oil finish brought out the wood grain, and it looks terrific. It was expensive, but worth every penny. The "before" and "after" photos say it all!

    We love these guys!  Started by getting bids from 4 different companies on the dining room set because we knew it needed work but had no idea what that really meant.  Lauer's prices are reasonable, they know their trade and perfectly described their approach.  They are very professional and respect people relationships with their things.  It was like having family work on the pieces - but better since Mike and Jim really know what they are doing, stay on schedule and are great communicators.  They even stored the dining room pieces for us for months while we had some home remodeling going on.  That was such a great experience that we've had Mike back several times to work on other pieces - even repaired a chest without taking it out of the house!  The breakfront was a piece that had seen far better days a hundred or so years ago. They did amazing things to bring it back to glory not only on the wood which is now gleaming and beautiful but matching or crafting new hardware to match missing bits, changing out a broken wood top for soapstone, etc. Amazing. My only regret is running out of furniture for them to work on.  Every bit of the experience on every piece has been wonderful.

    I inherited a 60 year old corner hutch from my mother that was in need of restoration due to many gouges, scratches and worn out areas. I met Mike Dowell after I hired him to refinish my bedroom end tables and a small dresser and because they turned out so well I asked him about possibly restoring the hutch. He assured me that it was the perfect candidate for restoration. It was returned to me today in beautiful condition. It looks brand new but the original integrity of the piece was not compromised. I would not hesitate to hire this company again. Their prices are very reasonable and their work is excellent.
    I would also like to mention that it is a family owned business and Mike and his wife, Julie, are very nice to deal with. They are respectful, friendly and very accommodating.

    The owner was very helpful and friendly. I had asked Cornerstone to email me when they received a highboy. There was one in the store that was out of my budget. When I received an email within a few days that Cornerstone had received a highboy, I went in to see it. It was beautiful, but I was still in love with the more expensive highboy that I saw earlier...... I ended up buying the more expensive piece, and I couldn't be happier. Delivery was arranged for the next day. The two men who delivered the piece were very professional, and carefully placed the piece where I requested. From start to finish, everyone was very helpful and professional. I know I will be back to buy more pieces. This store is truly a treasure!

    Ordered the furniture in September 2006. Not in stock. They received the order from their mfr, and told us all pieces were in. They attempted delivery of two pieces, saying the third piece was out of stock until March 2007. Buyer beware! If your furniture isn't 'cash and carry' you may wait a LONG time to get your stuff. In the meantime they have your money. Sales staff were friendly and accommodating. Justin, Joe, and Stephanie were personable and friendly, the company just couldn't produce the items.

    Work performed was well done perfect and at the expected cost. The store is an old independent store located in a Bel Air MD a suburb of Baltimore. My wife called around for price on a specific dryer and found it in stock for a good price of 629.00 The delivery and installation was only 30.00 for both but a GE rebate of 30.00 made the delivery and installation at no charge. The old salesman explained the features of the unit and we paid and left. Upon returning home we were overcharged by 30.00 over the phone quote. We called them on this problem and they refunded the 30.00 with no problem. The best part was the no noise or lack of attention and service found in the big box stores, what a pleasent experience. Good price, friendly people in the sales floor and office, followed up with a good price and excellent on time delivery and installation made this a great experience. One that I will use in the future.

    ON SUNDAY, JULY 25, 2004, MY HUSBAND AND I PURCHASED A REFRIGERATOR AT BEST BUY #296. AT THE TIME, WE WERE TOLD THAT DELIVERY WAS SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, JULY 27, 2004 AND THAT A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE WAREHOUSE WOULD CALL THE DAY PRIOR TO DELIVERY TO CONFIRM THE TIME. AS OF 7:00 P.M. MONDAY EVENING, I HAD NOT RECEIVED A CALL EVEN THOUGH I PROVIDED BOTH MY HOME AND OFFICE NUMBER. NOW THE NIGHTMARE BEGINS. AT 7:27 P.M. MONDAY EVENING, I CALLED THE BEL AIR STORE. FOR THIRTY MINUTES I WAS BOUNCED BETWEEN THE APPLIANCE DEPARTMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. EACH TIME, THREE IN TOTAL, I WAS CONNECTED BACK TO CUSTOMER SERVICE THE PERSON I SPOKE WITH JUST TRANSFERRED ME BACK TO THE APPLIANCE DEPARTMENT. NO ONE IN THAT AREA ANSWERED THE PHONE. FINALLY, THE CALL WAS DISCONNECTED. I ASSUME THAT IT MAY HAVE BEEN BECAUSE I WAS IN THE LOOP TOO LONG. I CALLED BACK A SECOND TIME AND ASKED TO SPEAK WITH A MANAGER. I WAITED ON HOLD FOR 5 MINUTES AND THEN THE PHONE WAS AGAIN DISCONNECTED.
