    MakHome Renovations
Great. The project was a kitchen remodel. The workmanship was very good. The project was completed on time and the cost of the project was very competitive. Both the owner and I, ( I am the rental property manager) highly recommend Makhome Renovations for your home projects.

    JD Michael Construction Inc
We, 500 Majestic Properties, have worked with JD Michael Construction for over two years on several projects. Our most recent project was the complete renovation of 1723 Carrs Mill Rd. Joe, from JD Michael, was involved in every aspect of the project, from initial renovation analysis, budget generation/management, permitting, and beyond. Their primary role was as GC, managing the overall schedule, subcontractor work force, materials management, and interface with local permitting/inspector community. Due to the size and complexity of this effort, JD Michael also performed many general construction activities, to include framing, general carpentry, painting, tiling, cabinetry installation, and more. Beyond excellent workmanship and communication skills, JD Michael was very diligent in their selection of the subcontractor workforce and managed them without scheduling or timing conflicts. On the occasion when a subcontract needed special attention, JD Michael quickly and professional dealt with the vendor to resolve any issue to insure the work was performed in a timely manner with no interruption to other vendors or schedules. We are about to start on another renovation project and weve already signed the deal to work with JD Michael Construction.

    The Paint Doctor LLC
Homeowners Beware Before Contracting with Ron Bowen or The Paint Doctors! On December 22, 2017 we contracted Ron Bowen and Paint Doctors to sand, prime and paint our kitchen and bar cabinets. My husband is a licensed contractor and we very rarely hire anyone to do anything in our home, we do most renovations ourselves. Due to this being a labor-intensive messy project, right before Christmas, we put our trust in Ron and The Paint Doctors. We very much regret this decision. Two days after the completion of the project, the paint on the cabinets begin chipping and flaking off because the cabinets were never primed and insufficiently sanded. Mr. Bowen assured us that everything was fine the paint needed time to cure. The cabinets continued chipping and flaking. Mr. Bowen and company came back to our home in February 2018 to correct the problem. Their correction entailed painting over the chips, leaving an uneven surface, and spray painting from cans, in my home, a clear polyurethane in an effort to prevent the paint from chipping further. They did not open windows, have an air scrubbing machine and clearly were grasping at straws trying to correct the issue. My children, pets and I had to evacuate our home due to the fumes. When they said they were going to spray I assumed as professional painters they would be using a paint sprayer not spray paint. We allowed them to attempt to finish the project over our childrens spring break at which time we would be out of town. Again, assured the project would be completed correctly. We arrived home after a week to find our home in complete disarray, plastic hanging all over the kitchen, a thick layer of dust and dirt everywhere, the project not even close to finished correctly. In April 2018 Mr. Bowen and Paint Doctors once again came to fix the problems. Prior to them arriving we retrieved from the paint manufactures website clear instructions how to refinish cabinets with their product, sand, PRIME and paint. It was clear to us, Mr. Bowen had little to no knowledge how to properly refinish cabinets. We brought this to his attention and Mr. Bowen assured us he would be doing the work himself and one of his employees we felt did not know what he was doing would not be doing the work. Mr. Bowen arrived with said employee and proceeded to sit on a bench in our kitchen on his phone the entire time while his employee painted the cabinets. After three days of excuses, attempted fixes, multiple paint changes, primer over paint, paint on top of that, the cabinets and doors were irreversibly damaged. Over the course of several months we have consulted with other licensed paint contractors, general contractors, the Store Manager of Sherman Williams, the Store Manager of Benjamin Moore, experts in the paint industry, and customer service representatives from the paint manufacturer. The conclusion that was consistent with all our research was that the cabinets had to be stripped down to the bare wood and repainted or completely replaced. The stripping process is toxic and creates noxious fumes and an unhealthy environment inside in the home. Thus, replacement of the cabinets was the only real option. Currently as of August 24, 2018 we are left with $30,000 in ruined cabinetry, celling drywall that needs repair from them hanging plastic and ripping off the tape, paint on our moldings and floor in our kitchen and bar areas. Over the course of the last 4 months, May to August, Mr. Bowen has admitted both in phone conversations, emails and text messages he is responsible and will reimburse our initial contract money and also pay for damages to replace the cabinetry. However, he has failed to reimburse our money, make any agreed upon restitution toward damages, and refuses to respond to phone calls, texts, or emails. Mr. Bowen and The Paint Doctors is contracting with people to paint their cabinets with no proper knowledge as to how to paint them correctly.

    FELIKS LEYBENGRUB PAINTING LLC
Feliks was excellent. His team was even better. They worked hard and were extremely cool. Very neat, no drips, no splatter. Cut in was clean and patch work is nearly indistinguishable from the rest of the wall. I would hire his team again without hesitation. I would also recommend him to everyone who wants an excellent job and fair price. He also helped pick a color for us and is sending someone back to do some small touch up we would like done.

    MPW Painting/Maryland Pro Wash
Tony and the guys at Maryland Pro Wash did the most amazing job washing and painting the house. I had found them on Angie's List and initially was surprised that they did interior painting since I'd heard about them previously as a power wash company. Thankfully, since it was winter, they had time to fit our project into their busy schedule. WOW. It's amazing how fabulous everything looks now. Our house is transformed! Not only was the work done extremely well, but the work crew was great. In the 3 days MD ProWash was here, probably 5 different guys were on job site. Each was extremely professional, courteous, and did an excellent job. Pros they certainly are. Looking forward to working with them again. Now I'm starting to wish we weren't moving it looks so great!

A BRUSH OF CLASS PAINTING SERVICE, LLC

Goode Design Painting & Wallcovering Inc
Excellent work. Painters showed up on time and got right to work, no dilly-dallying at all. Did an excellent job in a tough basement, which really looks great now. I am very particular about lines being straight where wall paint meets trim and ceiling and they nailed it...no complaints. Did a great job down the stairs to the basement as well as the balusters on the handrail. The pricing might be a little higher than the last guy I used but I definitely got a much higher quality job at the end of the day, so no complaints...and in fact did not price it with anyone else this time due to the fact that they fit my schedule and had received such good reviews here on Angie's List. Can highly recommend.
