My first contact was with a salesperson named Tim Schliegel. Tim had worked previously in the construction industry and from that work, had a lot of experience to draw on when evaluating my basement issues and recommending the proper solution. Throughout the entire process, Tim was available to answer my questions and address all of my concerns. The work was started on the day it was scheduled and Javier and his crew arrived every day, on time. They worked continuously throughout the day, only taking a short break for lunch. Each of the three-man crew was very polite and very competent. The foreman, Javier, was very knowledgeable, addressing questions and concerns in a very professional and polite manner. I did have an issue with where I had originally chosen to place the sump pump. I worked with Tim, Javier, and the project foreman Dave Ryan to get the pump relocation without any problems or concerns. I would highly recommend this company for any basement related work. I had checked three other companies and this company was far ahead of the rest. In my case, one the most attractive features was the wall restoration option this company offered. Other companies put in a drainage system and you were on your own getting the walls restored. This company offers a very good wall restoration option that is ready to paint. And before the wall goes up, an insulated moisture block material is put in place. With regards to the drainage system this company uses, its quality is far superior to other companies solutions. All of the other companies I checked with, just installed a generic round black drain pipe with holes on the top. This company's system collects and drains water in a much more efficient method. All in all, with regards to materials and workmanship, I would give this company an A+ rating. I will warn anyone having this work done to expect a fair amount of construction dust being generated during the process, so cover everything as best as possible.

The crew showed up on time, provided protective barriers so that dust generated in the project would be isolated to the workplace. They finished the job on time and cleaned the work area completely before they departed. They were very professional in the work they did and in their interactions with us.

Even though it was during a very busy time for them as it was hurricane season and there were a lot of water issues everywhere, they came out the same day I called and gave me an estimate. I received a call 2 days later that they'd be able to begin the job the next day. They finished in two days and you would never know they were there except for the nice job they did and no more water in the basement. They were very professional and left no mess anywhere - inside or outside.

    Armored Basement Waterproofing
. we had a significant water problem in our basement which required a service to come to our home and perform an extensive drying and anti-mold treatment of a very large area. They then recommended that we contact a Steve Taylor to identify and repair the source of the leak. He said that we would need a very extensive repair involving tearing down the drywall and jack hammering the flooring for a $19000 price tag. I then contacted Armored for a second opinion. The owner of the company himself came out and after investigating the problem for about an hour discovered that it was a leaking pipe behind our wall and insulation that was causing the problem. A plumber was contacted and the entire job was completed for $75. Armored didn't charge us at all! I have never dealt with someone as competent or honest. He saved me $19000 and an enormous amount of aggravation.

I called on 7/6 based on the great reviews here on AL. Brian answered. Very nice on the phone. Said he does cover Harford County but he'd have his tech that covers this area call me or Brian himself would call me to get a service visit scheduled to perform a free estimate/diagnosis. Asked me many questions but kept repeating himself and getting confused on the phone and saying that he "must be mistaking me for someone else" and kept apologizing. He then kept asking me the same question over and over again. Is the leak something that I need a "shop-vac" for or "towels", I repeat 3 times over a few minutes that I needed towels, no shop-vac and he kept apologizing saying again, he must be mistaking me, etc...
Brian called me back around 10am this morning, 7/7, and started the conversation by saying he believed he was talking to my wife yesterday... then went through the whole towel/shop-vac thing again. Then asked if I was sure that I had a "cinder-block" foundation... I told him we never discussed that yesterday or today and that no, I don't have a cinder block foundation... he then started apologizing again saying that he must have mixed me up with someone from Carroll County he was speaking to that was a lady which is why he thought he was speaking to my wife yesterday...
His Angies List profile says he does the entire Baltimore area and the highlighted circle shows past Bel Air, MD, which is in Harford County. I live in Fallston, which is 10 minutes south of Bel Air, closer to him by a little bit. I'm well within that circle highlighted and when I asked him yesterday if he serviced this area, he said yes.
    1. He was very nice on the phone.
    2. Seemed very distracted, busy, unorganized, confused, and obviously took zero notes which is why he kept having to repeat himself.
    3. His map on Angies List is wrong, he doesn't service Harford County because he asked me to take pictures of my challenge/leak and email them to him and then he would quote me a price... WHO DOES THAT? I've spoken to other company's already and every one of them, near and far, never said anything like that and all of them scheduled visits to come out and diagnosis and then give a free estimate.
    4. Very disappointed with this company after 2 calls. Again, he seemed very nice, but I would tell them to start taking copious notes so we don't have to repeat ourselves over and over again, and to please not waste the time of someone who is outside of their area that they have no interest in driving to and quoting.

They were able to start the initial work immediately, and it was completed in a day.  Roof was inspected and cleaned,  flashing was resealed and vents were resealed and painted.  Masonry repairs were made to brick chimney and several courses repointed.  In addition to contracted work, they also sanded and painted an addition chimney at no charge.  Area was cleaned and swept before they left.  Due to speed and quality of first job, they were contracted to make repairs to a cracked block retaining wall next to driveway, which were begun within two weeks.  They first removed old coat of parge, then covered and anchored entire wall with wire mesh and applied two coats of parge with brushed finish, with waterproofing to follow when weather permits.  Job took about four days in all.  Driveway was cleared and all debris removed each day prior to their leaving.  In addition to contracted work, they also made some repairs to garage siding at no charge.  We have been completed satisfied with all work performed, and would recommend them without any reservations.

So far so good - we havent' had any water since the work was done.  I was very happy with the salesman (Chris D.) as well as the crew who spent two days working the issue (Joe H. and TJ).  Everyone was so pleasant to work with and they really took the time to explain in detail the process and how it would work.  They did not try to "upsell" me on a large basement system as we really needed to address this issue before we would really know if there was a problem.  Some other companies did try the upsell while ignoring the gaping hole in the ground.
I cannot speak highly enough of my process with BWN, from the first estimate through my many questions through completion of work.  I almost cancelled the first appointment because of my other experriences with basement waterproofers - I just didn't think they were the company to address my issue.  When I called to cancel they said they really would like to come out - and I am so glad they did.
We are having some major melting now and so far no water.  I will be keeping my eye on it - if we do get water BWN will be my first call!

    Armored Basement Waterproofing
We recently bought our first home and after the first good rainfall our basement floor was covered in water. Very frustrated and upset we began calling around to several waterproofing companies asking for quotes. We had 4 companies come out and look at the basement. The first 3 seemed like trained salesmen, giving us a basic sales pitch, just trying to snag a new contract and spent no more than 5 minutes in the basement looking at the actual problem. The 4th company was Armored Basement. Jay came out to see the basement and seemed very educated in waterproofing basements. He asked us a few questions about the history of the home, which of course we couldnt answer having just bought the house. We have a cinderblock home, so Jay went to his truck to get some tools which would allow him to inspect the walls. He drilled a small hole in the wall (which he later filled in). He explained to us what was going on and showed us with a fiber optics camera that the water was still sitting in our lowest course of block. We had mentioned to him that the other companies had told us that the water was coming from hydrostatic pressure (whatever that is), not the walls. Just to check, Jay drilled another hole in the floor and used a small rod to test the soil under the floor, which was fairly dry. What we loved most about Armored Basement and Jay is that he never once asked us to sign a contract. He simple took our email address and said that he would send us a quote later that evening. We were very eager to get the work done so that we could get our basement back together and we knew that this was the company we wanted to go with so we asked Jay if we could get the quote before he left and set a date to have the work completed. Jay gave us the quote, set the date and explained in detail what work would be done. The job itself went just as Jay has explained to us. The crew was on time for the job and lead by his brother Chris. They covered all my belongings in the basement to avoid a mess for me to clean up later, however they did very good managing to keep the dust to a minimum. They worked all day (I think even through their lunch) to get the job done - installing drainage pipes, wall flashings, and a sump pump - ALL in just ONE day. I was amazed that the job was done so fast and clean. We have not had any water issues with our basement since the work was done. I would highly recommend Armored Basement to everyone looking for a water proofing company, in fact I have already passed their name and number on to a few of my neighbors.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and the quality was pretty good. My husband took care of this project. We were well pleased with that. They did a good job with the caulking and were prompt. I think they were here earlier than the said the would be on the day of the appointment. It did not take them too long to come out after my husband scheduled the appointment. It was good that he was prompt and, from what I have seen, it has held up well.
