Interior Painting reviews in Dunkirk

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Carlos was very prompt with his communications and professional. His prices were reasonable and he and his crew were punctual, courteous and did a great job. Very happy with the services and plan to continue using them and referring them to friends and family.

  • The job went very smoothly. Craig Baldwin showed up every day with a helper and worked 8 hours straight. He was totally dedicated to the project. The work is beautiful and I have even had guests from Australian face time the results to family members in their country!
    - Pamela S.
  • Very pleased with the quality and price of work. I've always wanted a deck off my kitchen and JJ built exactly what I told him I wanted. Power washed the house and painted inside. Feels like a brand new home I couldn't be happier
    - Lynda B.
  • Based on previous experiences with hiring painters, I expected the work to be acceptable but nothing special. The work Mr. Luckel and his son did goes way beyond acceptable. I am so happy with the quality of their work! The house is being fixed up to put on the market. It looks so good now, I almost don't want to move. Ceiling fans had just been installed, so there were holes in the ceiling and walls of four rooms. The repairs are not even visible. The walls were touched up and sanded until they looked like new construction. They even sanded between coats of paint. The front porch was sanded, cracks filled, and painted. Again, it looks as though it was just built!
Mr. Luckel was very easy to work with. They were respectful toward my family and home. Drop cloths and plastic were always used to protect my carpet and furniture. Each day, they vacuumed and cleaned up before leaving. Furniture was always put back in place. I would definitely call Luckel Contracting again!

  • Eugene Sibley returned my call the same day and came to my home for an estimate the following day.  Work began the following week.  Eugene and his crew repaired the badly damaged drywall and doors in a bedroom. After they painted, it looked like a new room.  I couldn't remember where the large holes had been.  The bathrooms had peeling linoleum floors, a leaky toilet and needed new vanities.  They tiled the floors, replaced the toilet and vanities, and painted.  Light fixtures were changed, new faucets installed, towel racks and light switches replaced, walls and ceiling painted.  Both rooms are beautiful!  I couldn't be happier with the way it all turned out.
I am very pleased with the quality of the work.  The tile looks so good!  Nice clean lines between painted walls and trim.  The areas were always cleaned and vacuumed before painting started and before grouting the tile.  They spread drop cloths so they weren't tracking anything on my carpets.  The work areas were vacuumed and things put away neatly at the end of each day.  Eugene was very easy to work with, and his crew was very respectful toward my family and my home.  Eugene did a lot of the actual work himself, but he called and stopped by everyday to make sure we were happy with the work.
I would definitely hire Stowe Contracting again. In fact, we have already tentatively schedule another project with Eugene before the end of this year.

  • This summer, Christian painted our house, prior to moving to MD.  It was a significant amount of work costing $6K.  He said I could call him back to schedule for the remainder of our house after moving to the area.  When I called him for an appointment, he said he did not remember me...hmmm...I just paid him $6K a month ago and he did not remember me?  He said he would call me back since he was driving, but he never did.  I called twice again with no call back.  My wife did the same and Christian was rude to her.
I will caveat the above, with saying he did a great job the first time.  I rated him very high on my original review.  However, his customer service and follow-up were unsatisfactory.

  • Things went well. They arrived early. They were very professional. They made sure to set up their paint in an area that my puppy couldn't get to. They didn't spill any paint on anything at all. They were so fast. They showed up about 8:30 and they were done by 11:30. They did a really good job. I did shop around with other companies on Angie's List and they were 100 dollars cheaper.

  • Chris and his crew did a great job. Although the cost was higher than
what he quoted, it was fair and understandable based on the work he had
to do. They painted about 75% of my home, roughly 2500 sq ft, to
include doors, ceilings, and trim/moulding. Initially he said it was
going to take 4 days and 4 guys a day but after further review he
decided to send 5-6 guys a day for 5 days. After completing the job, the
shift leader, Randy, ensured the house was clean and all items were
fixed from the final walk thru. I will hire them again.

  • What he does is he sub-contracts with other painters, he doesn't paint himself and that was one of the deals. He's a nice guy, but the painter that he sub-contracted to, little trouble with one of them speaking in English. The overall company was another company. He comes in, give you the estimate and he sub-contracted that to another company to paint it. I kind of thought he has his own crew, but apparently he does not. He was always very helpful coming around but he was not doing any of the work. He would come in and he would talk to his sub-contractors and they would arrive in CertaPro t-shirts when they came over here, but their car is under a different company. They were nice, they did paint over some of our switch covers and they have to switch them off, and the guy told the painter not to do it, it was the language issue. They stained one of the much more dark than what my wife wanted. He took money off at the end, but she figured he should have known better when he noticed that the color was obviously too dark, he should have stopped the work right there, this is not the right spot lets make it right. Now eventually I'm gonna have to replace the door, the molding and maybe a window because it is stained instead of painted. We haven't finished everything,  part of the house, we haven't finished our bedroom yet. My wife is going through decorating stuff around the house. It's a 20 plus year old house. Probably they will not finish the painting, after they made the mistake, I would find somebody else and likely not use CertaPro again. But like I said, the thing that I thought CertaPro have its own crew but he sub-contracts to other folks and maybe that' just what happened around with stuff. I can't remember the price, my wife writes the check. I know it's little expensive, it's a little over priced. It's a little bit pricey for the work that was done and for the paint. They screwed up a little on the paint but everything else they do it, yes they made a small mistake but they went over and fixed it. But the one last thing, that guy wanted to go Nicaragua or El Salvador the next day, so he wanted the job get done and get out of here. He was motivated to finish and eventually took a couple hundred bucks off, but hope that will eventually differ the cost of everything. He was here when he said he'd be here and if I needed them to come over.

  • Arrived on time, were professional, organized, pleasant, and worked non stop. Good job painting and left everything as clean as they found it. Very comfortable with them and the word they did. Would recommend Roberto & Uliof.
