Appliance Repair reviews in Damascus

This was our third time using Wooten Appliance and I would recommend them to anyone needing a large appliance repair. Scheduling was easy and the scheduler was very knowledgeable and friendly. The ttechnician was courteous and very professional, even making sure the dryer vent was clear after finishing the repair to help reduce the chance of further issues. They have a two step process if they dont have the part on the truck, coming out first to diagnose, then returning to repair. Coupon deal covers labor and the cost of the part is separate. Both very reasonable.

Just like the previous time we had Wooten Appliance come out to our home, Daryl was extremely professional, friendly and polite, as always, and even though he was unable to perform services that were purchased in the deal/offer , he did identify the problem and extend a credit to us in the event we need to use his company again, which if the need does arise, he would be the first one we would call due to his honesty and professionalism,

I have dealt with this company in the past for fridge and microwave repairs, because Maytag/Whirlpool always uses them for warranty repairs, and had fine experiences. The techs are usually punctual and competent. However, things changed this time as I was dealing with them outside of a warranty. I found the customer service and policies of the office staff to be among the worst I have ever experienced. I can only assume it is the warranty work that keeps them in business.
So at the beginning of this experience, I actually did have a warranty that I had purchased from Maytag. The tech came out to diagnose the washer leak. He said the part had to be ordered. After he left, I cancelled the warranty that I had purchased (I figured that I might save $ by paying out of pocket instead). I called VIA's office to explain this change, and also to ask for the exact diagnosis of the problem in writing. When I told the rep (Crystal) that I no longer had the warranty, her tone immediately changed and she became rather short with me, and kept saying that she had to collect a payment from me immediately for the first time they came out. The company seemed to care much more about getting their $130 on the spot than maintaining a good relationship with the customer. I did end up paying her the $130 for the first service call, b/c I wanted her to give me the official diagnosis in writing. That diagnosis turned out to be wrong, which I found out later on when I hired a different company. Then I had to decide whether or not to use VIA to do the actual repair. The part that they diagnosed as needing to be replaced was the bleach dispenser. The rep told me it was ~$40 for the part and ~$110 for the labor to install it. Here is the unbelievable part: she said that in order for them to order the part, I had to pay her by credit card over the phone, for the part AND the labor to install it. Unheard of. When I expressed my incredulity with such a policy, the rep told me to hold, and she went and checked with her superior, I assume, and came back and told me that if I preferred, I could pay for only the part right then, and they would order it, and when the tech came to my house, I would have to pay him for the labor BEFORE he installed the part. This still would be a risky deal for me. I went back and forth with the rep and asked to speak with her supervisor. At first she tried to dissuade me by saying that the supervisor would tell me the same things that she was telling me. I persisted and she put me on hold for a long time. She came back and said that no supervisor is available. I asked when one would be available. She had no answer, no idea whether one would be available today or tomorrow. She did not offer to take a message and have one call me back. I had to ASK HER to have a supervisor call me back. She was very short and brusque at this point, but said she would pass on the message. No big surprise here, but no supervisor ever called me back.
I eventually found another company to do the diagnosis and repair. If I had had VIA do the repair, the leak would not have been remedied b/c it was the wrong diagnosis, and I would have already paid for it in full. Based on my experience with them, I would never want to be in the situation of trying to get a refund from them. I have *never* had a contractor come to my house and expect payment before the repair was performed. I would never use this company again.

My wife and I have used Kenney's many times over the past 20 years for washers, dryers, freezers and dishwashers. Unless we are covered by a manufacturer's warranty, we do not call anyone else.

It was wonderful, he went straight to work, had the part, we chatted the whole time....couldn't ask for better. He even helped tighten some hoses that I called myself handling before he'd arrived. Now that's what I call service!!! AHA is a working example of quality service :).

Arrived in a timely manner. Professional. Checked washing machine and determined that the problem may cost over $300.00 in parts to repair then advised looking into replacement rather than repair. Then worked on the dish washer and was able to have it functioning with in a very short time.

The floor of my laundry room was wet and it clearly was the washer as I had put a load of clothes in earlier in the day.  I have an expensive maintenance agreement on both the washer and dryer and called Sears.  I was surprised they answered on a Sunday.  That was the only plus - when I explained my problem, I was given an appointment 2 weeks from now - what good is having a maintenance agreement if Sears will not "maintain" the item??   Then the lady on the phone had the nerve to ask "did I satisfy all your requirements today"?  Was she kidding?  When I said a two-week time frame was unacceptable, she kept apologizing.  Granted that is not her fault, but really, these operators should be given another "script" when clearly there was nothing satisfactory about the whole thing.   I called a local appliance repairman today and he will be here bright and early tomorrow morning - yes, I have to pay for this, but it will be done.

This is not the first time I was unhappy with Sears' maintenance policy.  Another time they came to service the washer/dryer, the window of arrival was 9am to 5pm.  When I asked if that was the best they could do, they said yes.  In today's busy world, who can sit around ALL day waiting for Sears?  Needless to say, I will never buy another major appliance from Sears - it's not worth all the hassle.

This online store has a HUGE variety of parts for pretty much every major appliance out there.  First good thing is that the parts got to my house FAST.  Like, less than 48 hours fast.  Second good thing: the price for the parts was more than reasonable, and half of what the manufacturer wanted to charge me.  The process was easy and it was really easy to find the correct parts on the site.  When I placed the order, (third good thing) my order confirmation came instantly, and they're part of Google's protection plan, which gave me extra assurance (I was recently burned by an online vendor, so this was crucial).  Thank you for making my dryer repair less painful (at least where replacement parts are concerned).  I will absolutely be using this vendor again and will be recommending them to my friends and family.

My Whirlpool Duet washer began flashing different codes, stopped working and the locked door wouldn't open.  I was at my wits end!  Mr. Kenney came out first thing in the morning, found the problem (the pump had failed) and repaired it for a very reasonable price.  I will certainly call Mr. Kenney again for any appliance repair.
