DMy wife and I tried hard to like this place because it is very conveniently located for us ... but we finally gave up. Here are a few good reasons to ditch Dogwood Acres and find somewhere else: 1. Their pricing structure is based on depriving your pet of basics like play time unless you book a higher-cost visit. 2. They'll rip you off on the back end. On our last two visits, we were charged a full additional night's boarding because he stayed a few hours longer than 24 hours. I understand charging extra, but double is ridiculous - especially when it is a minimum of $55 per night. 2. Oh, and picking up your dog within exactly 24 hours is no easy chore ... this place is only open when it is least convenient. Want to drop off before work? Sorry, they don't open until 8am. Want to swing by during lunch? Sorry, closed mid-day. Want to pick up after work? Nope - closed after 6pm. Weekends are even more restricted. 3. Don't be fooled by the photos of fancy "guest rooms." The kennels are basic, and the dogs have to use the restroom on a concrete slab. Our dog seems to hold it in until play time (which is limited) or until we pick him up. He always makes a hurried beeline to the nearest patch of grass and pees like he's been holding it all day. 4. You can get your dog bathed for an extra small fortune. But if you stay enough nights, they include a bath for free. Except when the bath is free, they forget to do it and blame "miscommunication." Even if you asked multiple times. I strongly recommend finding another option if you can.

AHe is wonderful and compassionate. He sent us a sympathy card when my dog passed. He gives excellent care. They'll go the extra mile for you. Our little guy had arthritis and I let them know it was okay with me if they needed to take their time with him and keep him all day. So he would do that. I'd take him over early in the morning and he would work on him for a little while and then give him a break for a little while and then worked on him again so that my dog wouldn't be so stressed. Whatever you need, Kevin supplies. He really is amazing and incredibly good especially with senior pets. He really goes above and beyond.

ASassy PawsI started going there in December 2011 or January 2012. They are very reasonable, much less than a lot of people. They are very good and very nice people. A lady and her husband do it. She does the cutting and he does the bathing. The first time I paid $75 and every other time I've paid $68. The price is very reasonable for this area. They really like animals. I have no concerns at all about them ever abusing or being rough with my animals.- Linda B S.

AStrut Your Mutt Pet GroomingKevin did an excellent job. With our little old guy having arthritis he often experienced pain and Kevin allowed him frequent rest periods between areas so that it didn't hurt or stress him too badly. Pancho always loved going to get groomed and see other dogs. Sadly, we lost Pancho right before Christmas but when and if we ever get another dog Kevin is our first choice in groomer's.- Jamie H.

ADIANE'S PET PARLOR & BOARDING BASEIt went well as always. We have been a client of Diane's for about a year now. We have boarded both Jack Russell's various times....anywhere from 1 night to 10 nights. We have been very satisfied with the grooming which we have done every 1-2 months and have recommended Diane to several people. My sister's dog is 8 and never been boarded until he went to Diane's and she was great with him. My sister has had many problems with other local groomers not being home when she had an appointment, her dog coming home with flea's, etc. But she has never had any of these problems with Diane's Pet Parlor and is also very happy with the service. My mother recently got a mini schnauzer and is currently taking her to Diane's for grooming and is happy. So Diane receives an A+ for outstanding services and quality care for the animals. One thing to mention is that at this boarding kennel, Diane is there every day, all day long. So its not just a kennel to board your dog, it is a day care where she is there to watch them and make sure they are ok while you are gone.- Sara O.
