Pediatric Care reviews in Columbia

    Beams, Dr. Zaneb
She has consistently been patient, available, and willing to explain things to me and my kids. I've never had a problem getting an appointment when needed. Once I was able to avoid going to urgent care on the weekend by calling and leaving a message and she got back to me right away and let me know what to keep an eye out for. Once (only once as far as I can remember) she was unavailable when my kid was sick, so I saw the other doctor in her practice who was also excellent. Since that doctor sees adults, I'm considering moving my own care to her as well. Only downside is to pay with credit I have to physically be in the office. Otherwise I've had no billing issues whatsoever.

    Beams, Dr. Zaneb K
We were fortunate to meet with Dr. Beams on the first appointment, and we liked her. She is knowledgeable, patient, and understanding. However most of our appointments there after was with her associate because Dr. Beams was not available or not in town.
There was more than 2 occasions where the examination room was dirty--tissue paper, etc. on the floor and the trash literally overflowing. The walls throughout the office need to be repainted and the children's toys/books in the waiting area and examination rooms are extremely used and in poor condition. I am concerned about the overall cleanliness and sanitation of this office. Also, the staff seem to be more casual (less professional) when Dr. Beams is not around.
A sick visit a couple weeks ago was the result of my child having a small cough for 3 weeks now; therefore the doctor decided to do a sample and culture test, to check if my child had a bacterial infection--I was told the turnaround for this test would be no later than 3 business days. I called on the 4th business day and was told that someone would get back to me. I did not receive a call back until 7 business days later. The test was positive and my child needed an antibiotic prescription, and could've benefitted from more responsive care.
Then our last appointment, which was a wellness appointment, resulted in me transferring my child to another pediatrician. We were 5 minutes early for my child's 15 month wellness checkup. We were finally escorted to an examination room thirty minutes after the appointment was scheduled to start. Around 50 minutes after, we were still waiting to meet with the doctor. Therefore I took the initiative to ask the staff what was going on, since no one informed us that there would an extraordinarily long wait time; they said the doctor would be with us shortly. My child was getting irritable, bored and tired in exam room. Finally 15 minutes later, I saw a doctor in the hallways and asked her if someone could please meet with us. By that time, my child was crying and upset, because the wait was long and it was almost lunch and then naptime. I really wished that the staff was more attentive to keeping us informed (especially considering baby/toddler schedules) because maybe I would've asked to reschedule the wellness appointment, if I had known we would've been waiting for so long.
In the end, we did not get to meet with Dr. Beams (unless we wanted to wait even longer). The doctor who met with us had rushed through the "checklist" of developmental milestones of my child. It was an upsetting experience because if she does not care about the fact that I had to take more time off work at the last moment to accommodate for their poor scheduling, she could've at least have shown more concern for my child's well-being and health.

I have been taking my kids there for about 15 years. They have good doctors, knowledgeable and my kids feel comfortable with them. They make an effort to find a way to get the kid in, if he seems sickly, so, I appreciate it. If a specialist is needed, they refer.

The kids' regular doctors; Dr. Landrum and Dr. Chang are great with them; caring and attentive, great at answering questions.
My teen daughter has a really good relationship with Dr. Landrum and is comfortable talking about any issue with her.
Dr Saini is also great. She not only diagnosed my son's flu, but thought to arrange for my daughter to get Tamiflu as a preventative and counselled my husband and I to get tested for flu and see about Tamiflu for ourselves. I don't think we would have thought to go to a doctor ourselves without her encouragement.
The entire staff is warm and caring. Getting same day sick appointments never seems to be a problem. The triage nurses have been uniformly helpful when I've called them. The old facilities were pleasant and the new office is very nice.

Dr. Thomas King is competent and polite. However, she doesn't seem terribly interested in her work or in children and seems to be a bit cold with regards to both. We've seen her three times and it just wasn't a good fit for us.

    Lasser Pediatrics
I am extremely happy with Dr Lasser's office. We have just moved to the area and had our intro appointment with Dr Lasser's office a few weeks before. When my son had fallen and cut his lip I called the office and they had us come in right away. We were seen promptly by the nurse and soon after by the PA and by Dr Lasser, himself. They were all very attentive and helpful. It didn't end up being serious but the attention we received was outstanding.

    Ambush Jr, Dr. Paul F.
He's great with the kids. Usually, I don't have to wait very long which is a big plus for the pediatrician, sometimes I do but not usually. Luckily I haven't had too much unnecessary appointments but he does give his cellphone number out if you need to get him directly off time. The staff is great too, they're good with the kids. I just luckily haven't had too much to go over with him, just the basic.

It went smoothly. We had to wait a bit because it was a very busy day at the practice but we were given a waiting room and the wait was not stressful.
Dr. Chatterjee is friendly and very professional. We are glad our children go to Kenneth Klebanow and associates.

    Donkor, Dr. Nicholas
Dr. Donkor has a very easygoing rapport with kids. He has an extensive knowledge of pediatrics and answered our questions before we could even think to ask him. Our little one wasn't crazy about getting the vaccinations, but she seemed to take to him well, even on the first visit.
