Columbia Massage Therapists Reviews

"I was given a gift certificate for spa services. I chose to have a massage, facial, and highlights and a hair cut. The massage was like no massage I had ever received before.... The method used to work with the stones was not effective and did not make use of the stones other than as a warming tool. The hot stone massages I have had in the past actually use the pressure of the stones to help with the massage. Additionally, the massage therapist massaged areas that I am not used to being included on a massage...The facial that had was great - the therapist was very good and helpful during the process at explaining what she was doing. The last thing I had was highlighting and a hair cut. I told the stylist that I wanted the highlights to be natural and low maintenance so that I wouldn't have to have the highlights done every 5 weeks. I walked out with highlights that were so blonde, I had to have some repair done the next day. And needless to say, I could not wait 5 weeks before getting additional highlights put in because they were so dramatic...Overall, I was not impressed with the quality of the environment at the spa... The locker room where you change did not look like had been well cared for with regards to cleanliness. The bathroom that was available also lacked a level of cleanliness that I would expect when men and women may be walking around in a bathrobe. Finally, the bathrobe that was given to wear during the treatments was so thin, it was very uncomfortable."

was very friendly and gave me a very good massage. However, every massage therapist is different and I have become accustomed to the style of my regular provider, so I ended up only going to see

"A very good experience. Easy check-in with the front office. They have several nice treatment rooms. The Massage Therapist reviewed my check-in forms and conducted a thorough initial interview before beginning treatment. Ondine, the MT, gave an excellent deep tissue massage with an extra focus on problem areas like shoulders and ilio-tibial band areas. A great experience, I would definitely go again."
"I scheduled the appointment three weeks in advance. The office staff greeted me warmly. The atmosphere is warm and friendly with nice music in the background. The physical establishment is well maintained. The therapist was on time and spoke with me briefly. I have used this therapist regularly so it was more of an inquiry about any special area I would like to have worked. The massage was excellent as usual. The massage therapist is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and personable. Payment and scheduling is handled quickly in a friendly manner. This place has been voted the best in

"It was the worst massage I have ever had. I never thought there was a such thing as a bad massage. Granted we did get there 15 minutes late so it wasn't as long but my masseuse was obviously very inexperienced. I asked her to please go deeper and still could barely feel it. My boyfriend stated that he felt that his masseuse was not the friendliest. We were rushed back to a room, no ambiance whatsoever and then rushed out. I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend for Christmas and I was very disappointed. I don't know who is rating

"I have gone to
Columbia Massage Therapists Provider Name Locked
for a massage on 4 occasions, as well as for a facial and a pedicure. Each time the therapist was prompt and the massage was excellent. The spa is clean and nicely decorated. The front desk area is very crowded and may appear disorganized, but I have never had a problem with an appointment or payment."

runs the spas for the Columbia Association & has more than one location. I prefer the original one on Little Patuxent Pkwy because it is quiet, even though it is located in an old, rustic office-type building. The check-in desk area is too crowded & cramped & can have too much confusion.

was on time and was polite and professional and gave a very good deep tissue massage. He asked about medical problems/issues before he started and asked for feedback on the massage if I wanted more/less pressure. The linens were clean, the massage table was heated, and the room was comfortable; the music was not loud or obnoxious and there was no hallway noise to distract from the massage.

gave me a damp clean washcloth and a dry towel at the end of the massage to wipe off excess oil; when I came out of the room he gave me some water & some instructions on follow-up for after the massage. It was not the best massage I've ever had but it was far from the worst; I would go back again.
