Columbia Drain Plumbers Reviews

"He and his assistant arrived and were great, they came in and immediately assessed the situation -
Columbia Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
walked my husband through everything and had a great sense of humor as well. He made sure that my husband would be able to handle smaller issues on his own in the future - we were lucky that it wasn't our main line and just an issue with our basement line and a flapper - but
Columbia Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
explained both and what to look for to my husband. The entire process was under 30 minutes and was worth every penny. We would not hesitate to use

again or recommend him to friends & neighbors.
"Great experience overall. Sent them a message on a Saturday night from the Angie's List messaging and got a call back within 30 minutes. Was given a baseline price range and told someone could be out within the hour at no additional charge. His guy was out, extremely good, thorough guy that explained everything and did the clean out. One problem, right after her packed up and left the drain clogged again! It was late so we connected Sunday morning and they came back out and did another drain clear. No additional charge for the revisit. I was very happy with the service. The price was fair, the problem solved and even though they needed to come back, there was no hesitation on getting the problem fixed right. I prefer it when providers get things right the first time, but when they respond so perfectly when things don't go 100% the first time around, that's when these guys earn my repeat business and recommendation. I'll have these guys back out in the spring for some other plumbing work for sure! "
"The inspection went well in my favor as there were no problems. They arrived on time with a three man crew. They took their time making sure they viewed the entire pipe line. I was in view of the camera. They restored everything and cleaned up. They were very polite and professional. Before they left they gave me information about maintenance and products I could use to prevent future root clog problems."
"The service was excellent. The dispatcher/operator who took my call was very polite and was very concise in collection of my information. She quickly assigned and dispatched the plumbers who would be working the job and gave me accurate scheduling information. The scheduling window set was extremely reasonable (3 hours) which is much more reasonable than saying you might get a visit between 9:00am to 4:00pm.
The plumbers dispatched to the call gave me a 30 minute call prior to arrival and were there well within the schedule window. They were very prompt and had no issues reaching my house. Upon arrival, the plumber and his apprentice were very professional and quickly got to work. The estimate given to me seemed a little high for the work being done, but I was already comitted to getting this fixed, so I told them to proceed with the work.
Although I was very hesitant from the estimate, once they completed the job, I felt that it was money well spent. This is in consideration of their professionalism and the fact that they replaced my sink trap to include a clean-out port that wasn't their initially. This was a bonus because I called the plumber because I couldn't appropriately access the line to clear the issue myself.
Payment was easy and their credit POS system from their tablet/iphone gave me a since of security. It's better than them handing you the phone to give your credit card information to somebody you've never seen on the other end.
These guys are a class act and should be considered for any work you may have done. Their rates are a little higher than some would think reasonable; however, you are getting an extremely professional and high-quality job. That makes it worth the extra money.
"They were very thorough, professional, and showed up nearly on time. They were easy to reach and schedule an appointment. They diagnosed the problem and cleaned the drain and line. They minimized the mess and cleaned up afterward. The plumber and his helper that the company sent were competent and personable. My only problem was the final price which, I think, was a little high. In the past, I used a self employed plumber whose rates were not as high, but he has since retired. I knew what their hourly rates were but the job turned out to take longer than originally envisioned. They also charged for various pieces of equipment, one of which I did not know the price of and it had to be retrieved from their place of business at my expense. In the final analysis, I think they did a good job and I would use them again but, I should have asked more questions about cost during a job that was being priced by time, materials, and equipment.
"I discovered a basement drain that was backing up and overflowing on Sunday (29 Sep 2013). I checked Angie's List and found a coupon for 'Last
Columbia Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
- $99 For Sewer Line Video Inspection, Plus Free Indoor Drain Cleaning'. I selected this offer because I was concerned that root intrusion of my underground sewer lines may have been the cause of my concern. When I bought the coupon, I selected three potential dates for the service including Monday, September 31.
I contacted
Columbia Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
on Tuesday morning when I had not heard from anybody to schedule an appointment. I called the phone number on Angie's List and reached '
Columbia Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
'. I explained the concern and how I had found his company. He was very polite and responsive and indicated that he had availability the following day.
Columbia Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
contacted me on Wednesday 02 October as we had agreed and indicated that he and his colleague were enroute. Upon arrival, the two gentlemen visually inspected the sink and we discussed the concern.
Columbia Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
explained that the Angie's List coupon only covered clearing out the trap of the sink. For my concern, he recommended a Hydro Jet treatment, (flushing the sewer lines with water.) He stated that hydro jet cleared the lines rather than a snake that only pokes a hole in the debris. He stated that he would give me a discount on Hydro Jetting the lines since he was already there, and would only charge me an additional $350.00 rather than the customary $500. Snaking the lines would cost me $150 and would likely result in their return within months.
I agreed to have the hydro jet service performed. He and his coworker set about cleaning my pipes and clearing the blockage which was located in my gray water (smaller) sewage line. By all appearances they did an excellent job, cleaning any spilled water as they went and conscientiously ensuring that no sewage water was dripped or spilled within my residence.
Columbia Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
stated that he could pretty much tell through the hydro jet process that there was no resistance in my lines so he felt pretty confident that there was no root intrusion.
Upon completion of the hydro jet,

and his associate attempted to open the maintenance port on my main (larger) sewage line so that they could perform the video inspection. The maintenance port would not open and
Columbia Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
said he was concerned he would completely strip the bolt if he kept trying to open it. He said the only way to perform the camera inspection was to cut my main copper sewage line and install a new maintenance port. I declined to have this done simply to perform a video inspection.
I asked them what they would do for me regarding the price, as I had not received any services that I originally paid $99 for (camera and drain clean). I did not want to pay an additional $350.

indicated that his boss would be upset if he did not charge at least $350 for a video inspection, and there was some discussion about price. However, once I looked on Angies' List and found a second coupon from
Columbia Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
charging $300 for a hydro jet service and brought that to

's attention, he agreed to only charge an additional $200 making the total price for the work to be done $300.

and his colleague did good work. They were clean and friendly. I am not sure that I would recommend

in the future though. If I do, I will encourage whomever I speak with, to ensure both price and services to be performed are clearly defined and agreed upon first.
"The work went quite well.
Columbia Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
the Plumber was very experienced and was able to correctly diagnose the problems in each case and took care of them. We are quite satisfied with repair work that was carried out.
"This was the third visit by
Columbia Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
. What I wrote earlier (this paragraph) still applies, but also read past the first paragraph for update. Scheduling was a breeze. The plumbers arrived on time. They wore shoe covers and put down material to protect the floor near where they were working. They explained everything thoroughly to me and did the work, adding a cleanout to the waste system, something that I would have found most helpful myself when cleaning the drain system; or more precisely, the part I can get to with my DIY equipment. They cleaned up well and returned everything to the cabinet they used to access the drain. They were altogether friendly, efficient, and professional.

I called them a second time for the same problem (The cost reflects both visits). Their warranty on drains is vary short, and had expired. They came out and snaked the drain again, which appeared to work for a few days. Then it clogged again. (Note: we do not have a garbage disposer, do not put food, grease, or even oil down the drains.)
Columbia Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
himself came out the third time, for which he did not charge. Both the second plumber and
Columbia Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
diagnosed the problem as the kitchen drain going out to a drainfield, which was within code when our house was built. Being in the slab and inaccessible, they both thought that the pipe had probably collapsed. They came up with the same solution, which would have entailed tearing up the slab and flooring to connect to the sewer system, to which the other drains connect. (Repairing or replacing the non connecting pipes is not within current code.)

I have downgraded the work because: 1. Another plumber came out with heavier drain equipment and has apparently solved the problem. 2. He had a much simpler and less costly and disruptive idea if replumbing ever appears to be necessary.
"I had an outside drain that was flooding my basement whenever there was a hard rain. I called them on the weekend and received a prompt call back first thing Monday Morning. They scheduled a workman to come out quickly. I was especially concerned about having someone come within a short period of time because there was a hurricane coming and I knew that I'd have another basement flood on my hands if I didn't get the problem taken care of. The plumber arrived and I explained the problem and he spent an hour snaking out the drain. He then determined that the drain was a "French Drain" and didn't actually connect to my sump pump. He then explained several options for what the problem was...with one option being to use a jackhammer to rip up my basement floor and install a second sump pump near the outside stairs. However, he recommended that I first buy some hydraulic cement and use it on the outside basement stairs (that had cracks that leaked water) to see if that would fix the problem so that I could avoid the expense and mess of a new sump pump. I went out and bought and applied the hydraulic cement and it fixed the problem! I was so grateful that he gave me an inexpensive and easy option to try to help stop the flooding instead of just trying to sell me an expensive and messy solution. I have recommended them many times since and am going to have them replace my ancient water heater."
"The kitchen drain was backed up. I had removed the P-trap but was unable to locate the site of the blockage.
Columbia Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
's scheduled around my frequent travel and at 7:30am on the dot, the plumber came in and got to work. By 7:50, he was cleaning up and testing the drain. Everything went without a hitch. It turns out there was a grease blockage in the pipe about 20 feet or so in from the p-trap (no way I could reach it). After he ran the snake, we ran the water and listened in the basement at the pipe - we heard the grease finally give way completely (sounded like gravel running through the pipe) and then the water ran cleanly. The cost was reasonable and I learned a couple things about how to prevent this kind of thing in the future."
