    Dave Harrison Appliance Repair LLC
I contacted Dave thru the Angie's list site and received a prompt reply. We traded a couple of messages and set up an appointment. He committed to a ONE HOUR window and was on time. He did great work explaining what he was doing and why as well as things I should look out for and fix myself if they happen again.

    Home Systems Appliance Repair
David, the technician quickly diagnosed the problem with my clothes dryer and patiently explained the issue to me. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He gave me the exact information I needed to pass along to an electrician as it turns out the problem was not with the dryer but instead with the circuit breaker. David charged me a very fair price that I was happy to pay in response to his excellent service. Overall, I was extremely impressed with his service, friendliness, and professionalism and would rate this experience among the best I've ever had when it comes to hiring house services.

    Landers Appliance Inc
We called Landers and they came promptly as scheduled the next day. The repairman was able to put the glass back in a few minutes. He said that he couldn't promise that it would stay on, but so far it has stayed on. He told us what it would cost if it were to break and that he could order the part if necessary. He only charged the amount of the service call. He was very professional.

    Home Systems Appliance Repair
The initial diagnosis of the leak in our washer was done through another company through our home warranty company. It turned out the problem wasn't covered under our warranty and, when we tried to contact the company who diagnosed the problem to come back and fix it, they never returned our call. So, I went to Angie's List and found Home Systems Appliance Repair. He came out the very next day and fixed the gasket. He also discovered the drain was clogged and took the time to give us suggestions on how we could go about fixing it ourselves. My only issue is that he didn't break down the costs on his receipt. I would have liked to know how much the gasket cost and what he charged for labor. The amount charged seemed excessive. I wasn't home, he worked with my husband, otherwise I would have asked him and I'm sure he would have provided that information.

    Crest Appliance Repair
The repair was done promptly and efficiently. The repairman "Gil" also retrieved money that had gotten into a part of the dryer and was making a lot of noise. The latter was a bonus! Much appreciated.

    Wooten Appliance
Chester, my technician, was prompt and knowledgeable. Diagnosed problem within 10 minutes, but did not have the proper part on his truck. Through no fault this happened over the Christmas holidays and the actual fix date was longer than anticipated, about 2 weeks. Would definitely recommend and/or use again

On the Monday before Thanksgiving my oven broke down. My husband and I had invited twelve guests for Thanksgiving dinner! That's not a menu that can be prepared in a toaster oven! I called Brian of Free State Appliance Service. Even though he had a full schedule of appointments that day, he managed to get the sensor part I needed and come in the early evening. In talking to him I realized what a depth of knowledge and experience he had. He saved the day for us.

    Expert Appliance Repair
I hired Expert Appliance Repair to fix my washer. They were unable to fix the washer and I paid the service fee...which was expected. Unknown to me, however, they left the water running on the leaky washer, and it flooded my downstairs overnight. When I called the next morning to report the problem and request them to send a remediation crew to clean up the water and repair damages, they denied responsibility and refused to respond. Be forewarned and don't hire them.. I hired a remediation crew who came out immediately and am stuck with the several thousand dollar bill and 4 days of disruption while the clean up and drying work continues. Their response was "why would that be our responsibility?" Do not hire this company. They are inept, and refuse liability for their errors.

    Wooten Appliance
Darryl checked the machine and verified it did not need any repairs. He tested the drain hose and house drainpipe and found that the pipe was clogged and that we needed to call a plumber. He charged us for the service call, but nothing else. We've had Darryl out before for other appliances, and he always makes sure to identify exactly what the problem is before taking or recommending any action. We will definitely continue to call him.

    Handyman Matters Of Columbia
Like an idiot, I paid for their 16 hour "special" that's only $1,900. They sent a new guy out - Patrick - who had just left a family owned business and spent a lot of time talking about how he's not appreciated by his current company (instead of working). It was very hard to get him to stop talking and start working. It took him 8 hours just to finish a powder room. He put it together very badly the first time - the finishing was obviously very poorly installed with spaces around the toilet and the walls. He had to take THREE trips to Home Depot to find the write hose to attach the pedestal sink. It would take all the time in the world to list the problems we had with Patrick. He came the second day 2.5 hours late. He was only supposed to work for four hours that day! That time was never made up. He spent most of the first day on the phone! I could never find him inside the house! He would take 2 hour coffee/Home Depot breaks. He would arrive late, pack p early, and told us he needed to avoid traffic! We paid for 16 hours. He worked incredibly slowly. He spoke a lot about his resentment for the company he worked with but begged for a positive review b/c he was new. I did call his boss Rose and discuss ALL of the problems we were having with Patrick and she said Brian would talk to him. The next day he showed up and was surly. I quickly realized we'd only be able to get the house ready before listing if I humored him. I wrote "great job" at the end b/c I was so relieved it was over and also b/c I felt a lot of pressure from him to do so. (When we did pay him in cash that weekend he worked like a fiend - which makes it so obvious that he just didn't give a **** while he was working on company time). Obviously, the company never made this right. Weeks later I realized we'd been conned and it was ridiculous not to dispute half of the charge. I filed a dispute with AmEx. I got an incredibly aggressive phone call from Brian who said, "YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" Um, yes you can dispute transactions if the merchants are terrible. I've never had to do it before but you better believe I did this time. What happened? Brian sneered that the problems had already "been resolved" after the multiple phone calls with Rose. Oh? Resolved? We didn't get any type of a refund, Patrick didn't work extra hours - nothing. Literally nothing was done - we had to pay the entire price. Next, to my amazement, Brian said they "ALWAYS win AmEx disputes" b/c customers have to sign that they approve when they pay at the end of the day. I couldn't believe he was openly admitting that merchant disputes are a regular problem for this company - that says quite a bit for how they operate! I tried to calm Brian down by explaining we were only disputing half of the charges (even though after all of this we will be asking the national company for a full refund). Brian abruptly said he'd speak with Rose and hung up. AmEx credited us but then sent us 2 emails that we couldn't open and neither could the AmEx agents overseeing the dispute. As a result, since we couldn't actively communicate during the dispute, it was resolved in the merchant's favor. You better believe we opened up another dispute right away and will be calling AmEx regularly to make sure they don't mess up again! I have an actual voicemail from Rose calling me back to discuss all of the concerns we were having with Patrick! SO - BE CAREFUL - go with a handyman you know in your neighborhood. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. They either don't pay the contractors well enough (Patrick kept complaining he was treated like he didn't know how to do anything even though he could build houses, blah blah - wish he'd shown us some of that while he was on the company's dime!). I can see the most recent review has the exact same problems we did - the guy came hours left, worked as slow as humanly possible, etc. Home renovations are EXTREMELY expensive - this company should be ashamed of how they take advantage of consumers. Absolutely disgusting. Heads up - Patrick asks to be paid in cash so he doesn't need to pay the IRS. He will work hard but as soon as you leave town he'll try to screw you over. If we had had more time we would have switched to another company immediately before listing the house.
