0ReviewsChesapeake Acupuncture & Healing Arts, LLC
Business Description: Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used forms of medicine in the world. Originating in China more than 2,500 years ago, acupuncture is currently one of the most thoroughly researched, practiced, and respected forms of complementary medicine available anywhere. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, your overall health is determined by the quality of the Qi (energy) flow through the natural pathways of your body (meridians). Acupuncture uses a variety of techniques, including placing very thin sterile needles into specific points on the body, to stimulate and improve your Qi flow. The many benefits of acupuncture include: Pain reduction, stress and tension relief, increased energy levels, stronger digestion, relief from bad habits and addictions, as well as a greater sense of overall health and well-being

ADr. Park AcupunctureIt wasn't very good. Nothing went wrong. It's just that I didn't get any relief from my condition that I went for. I've never had acupuncture before. I don't know if it's acupuncture in general or if it's this practitioner in particular.- LESLIE V.

BAwaken Wellness, LLCAll of my appointments have gone well and I have no complaints about any of my sessions. The problem comes when you try to make a follow-up appointment for any type of acupuncture --- it seems to be difficult to impossible if you work full time. There have been several times over the past year when I would have/ wanted to have a follow-up session(s) --- or would have committed to maintenance sessions and many times could not get an appointment (on any day, at any time) for up to a month out. I get discouraged because of this and just give up.

AJohnson, KarenKaren was recommended to me by several people, so I went to her web site to learn more. www.karen-johnson-acupuncture.net.
I called Karen and spoke with her for some time on the phone. She was absolutely delightful, warm and understanding of my problems. I scheduled a visit for later in the week at her office which was conveniently located in downtown Columbia. Karen was punctual and as friendly to me in person as she was on the phone. We spent a good half hour discussing my problems and she created a treatment plan that was individualized for me. She placed the needles and I felt absolutely no pain. Immediately, I felt a very calming sensation come over me. Though it's hard to believe, i felt instant relief in my hip an knee pain when I got off the table. I've been through some unusual stress as of late, and have returned to Karen several times to help me through these difficult times. I can't imagine how I could have gotten through it all without her. I recommend Karen at the very highest levels possible.

ARothstein, JudithVery comfortable office and waiting room. It is a one person show so there is no fuss or muss or attitudes. She is an expert acupuncturist and therapist. She asked a lot of questions and gets to the root of the issue. She has a calming way about her. I feel rejuvenated after every visit.

ATransformative AcupunctureShe is responsive, compassionate and very intuitive in terms of treatment. I have experienced outstanding progress in terms of pain management. I have had conditions that she has treated that really has been almost eliminated and I have had treatments with them over a number of years medically. I was diagnosed with trigger finger by an orthopedic doctor and it was my ring finger on my right hand that would lock when you bend it and it's an extremely painful condition and I received a number of cortisone shots the orthopedic doctor and he said the only way to address it after it did not respond to the shots was to have surgery. I discussed the situation with Cynthia and Cynthia began treating the finger through acupuncture sessions and the locking of the finger has been completely eliminated and the pain has gone from a 10 plus to about a 2. So I am just overjoyed with the progress that has been made with it and saving costs in terms of insurances. She is just an outstanding practitioner, responsive and willing to work with her patients in terms of comfort level and she is just phenomenal. It should be noted that acupuncture is not only for pain management, it's stress reduction, it's relaxation and it addresses many issues. I would recommend her to anyone who is considering acupuncture.- Karen C.

AWisdom WellI was in pain (back) when I called and they worked very hard to get me in as soon as possible. They asked one of their acupuncturists if she'd stay late that very day to see me and she did. She was wonderful, very caring and helpful. I'll definitely go back.

AStewart, JoanieThe office was nice and location was convenient. Dr. Stewart patiently listened to my concerns. Treatment provided some immediate pain relief, but ultimately I sought corrective surgery for long-term resolution of the problem. Nevertheless, acupuncture got me through a period when I was not yet prepared for surgery but was having great difficulty completing activities of normal daily living.

AShenker Acupuncture (Madhuri Shenker)The second hour was spent getting the treatment. Madhuri was very gentle and took lots of time to make sure I was comfortable while doing the proceedure. It was virtually painless, and I am confident that with subsequent treatments, my condition will be improved. I even felt an energy boost after the treatment.

AZhang, Dr. GrantHe is excellent and wonderful for everything. I am in a lot of pain and he is relieving the pain. The treatment is very relaxing, soothing and it does not hurt. He has helped me with a number of things that can help to lower my blood pressure and helps with anxiety; you name it, it works. He is very gentle and knowledgeable. He also teaches Tai Chi and I am taking a Tai Chi course from him.- Marilyn D.

ARothstein, JudithJudy Rothstein is very friendly and health-conscious holistically. She makes recommendations for diet, exercise, medication and stress reduction. She is very flexible in terms of scheduling and billing. She doesn't take insurance but she will work with you and help you to get reimbursed through your insurance company. I go there fairly regularly, every couple of months, and I always come out feeling a lot better than when I went in. It's kind of weird that I don't know I'm missing it until I go and have a treatment and then I feel so much better afterwards.- Jim B.
