Door Installation reviews in College Park

    Energy Wizard
Our experience with Energy Wizard was excellent. The products we purchased were a bit pricey - certainly more than you'd pay going down to your local supply store - but we have never regretted the investment we made. The doors we purchased are of great quality and have stood up to five years now of hard use without a scratch on them. The folks at Energy Wizard did a great job of explaining the products to us, and the installation was professional and done quickly. I happily recommend their services to others.

    Unicorp Home Energy Services
This is one of the best home services companies that I've worked with. Brian and every person I had contact with were excellent: professional, polite, knowledgeable, and responsive. They did a beautiful job on the siding. I think one mark of an great company is how they handle problems. The downspouts were replaced on the front of the house, rather than on the sides as we had requested. The change was made quickly, at no cost to us, with no complaints: that made me very happy! I didn't hesitate to call Brian again when we needed the rest of our windows replaced. We were doing a bathroom renovation at the same time, and we reached a point at which the bathroom contractor could not complete work on the shower until the shower window had been replaced. Brian put a rush on that window and was able to complete the installation within about a week. The bathroom contractor had explained to Mr. Materka at Unicorp how the window needed to be installed--it had to be placed at exactly the right depth to leave the right amount of space for the tile and windowsill. When the bathroom contractor saw the work, he said: "you usually hear us blaming other workmen for work done poorly. This guy (Mr. M) did this work perfectly. I'm impressed." In terms of pricing, we got a few quotes for the siding and Brian's was significantly less. When we did the windows, I'll confess that I didn't get another quote, because at that point, I trusted Unicorp's very fair pricing. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to friends and neighbors.

    Premier HomePro
After interviewing three remodeling companies I chose Premier Home Pro because they could start the soonest, were the best price and I felt would do a good job.  Also the estimate was "complete" and the other companies wanted me to supply additional items - like kitchen cabinets.
The project involved putting in an egress window with drain system and pipes going through to my sump pump, moving a wall with plumbing, hvac and electric, sound proofing and new ceiling, framing a bedroom and kitchen, putting in new cabinets, granite countertops, laying new flooring, carpeting and framing out stairs, putting in access door for storage, running cable and phone lines, putting additional heating in wall, new lighting, new doors and painting walls and stairway.  The contractor, Brian Matthews was very easy to work with and flexible when I requested some changes or modifications.  He offered up some suggestions that I hadn't thought of.  Living in an older house there are usually some surprises or unanticipated problems - so when they came up Brian handled them quite smoothly and without much adjustment or sometimes none to my total bill.  There was no nickel and diming which I have run into  with other companies.  He paid alot of attention to detail and gave me some things that I didn't expect.  His men were knowledgeable, respectful and hard working and have all been with him for many years.  They also cleaned up everyday when they were done.
The renovation turned out better than I expected.  I now have a very comfortable, modern apartment with beautiful floors, cabinets and granite countertops.  I would not hesitate to hire Premier Home Pro for any future renovations.

    JCabido Remodeling
I'd had flooding in my basement several years ago, which lead to a mold problem that finally needed remediation. My basement is mostly finished, and after the mold was gone, I needed somebody to put the basement back together. I spoke with several contractors, including people I'd used before, and new contractors such as JCabido.
From the first visit, Bernard and Jackson were straight forward and clear about what could be done and the options for getting the basement back in shape. They were thorough on going through and making sure they understood what I was looking for, and clearly had the experience to do it with aplomb. They put together a very thorough estimate with clear costs for various pieces, including options for what could be included or left for another day based on my budget.
Where JCabido really made an impression, though, was when weather threw us a curve ball. After the first day of repairs (drywall, mostly), we were hit with a very heavy September rainstorm, which (ugh) flooded my basement again! I called Cabido and told them we'd need to hold off until I got it looked at more thoroughly, which they accommodated with no complaint. Jakson came out the next morning and took a look as well, identifying a serious crack in some exterior concrete that was letting water get to a hole in the foundation. He put down a quick concrete patch to keep things dry and together, and made recommendations for addressing the water issues. I also called several 'waterproofers', who came out and tried to sell me various expensive fixes (interior trench drains, exterior excavation and sealing). Frustrated, I finally called an independent engineer to come take a look. The engineer examined everything and identified the issue as mainly surface water intrusion, which could be addressed with grading and drainage - exactly what Jakson had said originally!
I had Cabido fill the foundation hole, and they resumed work, getting the floors down and the doors fixed with respectable speed. They were able to work around my schedule as well, very much appreciated. Finally, after all the work was done, I had a few touchup items, which they came out and did promptly and quite well. The finished basement is now nice and livable, dry and good-looking, and I've already had friends over to show it off!
I will say, JCabido wasn't the lowest estimate I got - they were in the ballpark, but a bit on the high side. It was absolutely worth paying a bit more for a contractor of this quality. I'm already talking to them about the work for exterior runoff management.
I hope I don't need much more work, but when I do, JCabido will be my first call.

    Arundel Construction
I purchased a deal from your site for this provider. It took quite awhile to contact him and schedule an appointment. I too had been made aware of his recent personal tragedy. Not unsympathetic. The day of the appointment (Dec. 1), he was two hours late. I called him to make him aware that I was there and that's when he advised that he was in traffic and would be very late.  As I plan my days, I had to wait for him as it was so difficult to schedule this appointment.  The work was completed and I was satisfied with the quality of the work.  However, later that day one of the tenants called to say the deadbolt was not functioning properly, again I had to track him down to reschedule. We rescheduled and he did not show up.  So I had to reschedule again. The job was finally completed Jan 4, 2015.

Mr. Handyman of Anne Arundel and North PG
My kitchen faucet could not be repaired so I had Mr Handyman replace it.  Also my front door was constantly sticking and coming off it's hinges so -   Mr Handyman (Jim) took the door off it's hinges and removed the wood lining the bottom that had become rotten.  He scraped it and replaced it with new wood.  Then installed weather stripping and new screws for the hinges.  Now - it works perfect.
Their people always do a good job and I'm never disappointed.

Mr. Smith came out and did some work for me in January. He repair a door that had shifted and was unable to lock. he also did caulking around a new bathtub and in my kitchen. He was professional and pleasant. He was prompt in returning my call. When he came out, he gave me an estimate and did the job in a timely manner. His work was really neat and well done, much neater and better than the home improvement person who did the initial work. I would hire him again in a heartbeat!

    Unicorp Home Energy Services
Both the windows/door and the siding operations went very well. I had several helpful consultations with David Rohrer at the house (we walked around and discussed details. Glad he suggested using Hardie board). Later he brought in the window installer for measurements. The windows and door installation was impressive to watch. It seemed so precise. (I gathered that the lead installer, Mr. Materka, has been with the company for many years). Everything looks and works very well.
The siding operation took several days, went smoothly and efficiently, and looks great. Thanks Mr. Cho and crew. J.R., the field supervisor was also very obliging about various things (dumpster permit, getting a delivery in the midst of things), and he did a nice job on the porch.
My house looks drastically improved and is much warmer and quieter inside.

    S & J Painting & Remodeling
S&J Painting and Remodeling were really open and transparent about things and they seemed really knowledgeable and they didn't try to upsell on anything. They actually let me pick the door that I wanted instead of buying a custom door. Everything went great.
