  • Their customer service is very poor and I always have to wait a very long time. There is no suggestion for different service providers, they always use the same agent whether the customer is satisfied or not. They don't ask any feedback either. As this is the renewal time, I don't plan on renewing with them.

  • Warranty provided by former owner of our home.  Took months and repeated calls to receive paperwork with warranty information. Had to have 2 repairs totaling $1600.00 prior to receiving information so that was out of pocket and they would not cover those costs.  Fair enough.  Needed a stove repair in Jan.  When I called they were unfamiliar with the stove brand. (should have been a red flag). I called the recommended repair company. Explained the issue and an additional issue not covered that I would pay for.  He arrived promptly, turned on the burners, decided there wasn't a problem. Looked at the other issue- range light not working. Said the bulbs were wrong size (he didn't have the correct tool to test the bulb outlet). Collected the $100.00 deductible and left guaranteeing his work for 6 months. I called stove manufacturer to explain issues. They gave me a number for an authorized appliance repair company, offered to pay for parts even though stove was no longer under warranty. Had the work done on the stove and the range hood, which turned out to be a burned fuse. Contacted HMS again to explain that their service rep didn't do anything. They contacted him, he returned $40.00 since $60 was his service call fee. HMS offered to return the other $60 to me and I have now received a check from them for $40.00 not the $60.00. They also offered to call an authorized service repair for my stove.  I don't know why they didn't do that initially. They are inept as far as I am concerned. I am relieved their repair person did not work on the stove. He was clueless and may have caused  damage.

    After another discussion with HMS they sent a check for $20.00 to reimburse me for the total of the $60 I spent on the service call.
