  • I see America's Best for my eyes. I see Dr. Yang. I don't know about anybody else but I love Dr. Yang. She's an ophthalmologist. If she left, and she knows this, they'd have to tell me because where she goes, I go.

  • Dr. Bahn and his staff were wonderful. The staff has been with him a long time and they know many of the patients quite well. I was seen pretty much on time. Dr. Bahn took his time and carefully explained everything to me. He suggested I needed glasses for far vision and noted astigmatism in my left eye that other opthamologists had missed. It runs in my family but he did not know that before he noted it.
I have since had my glasses filled and it is amazing the clarity with which I can see with such a small magnification. He recommended I initially get different glasses for seeing far as opposed to transitionals, I already use reading glasses. He stated most patients preferred different glasses since it can be challenging to get used to transitionals.
So far I have been happy with using 2 different pairs.
I would go back to him in follow up.

  • I made an appointment for my first contact lenses and visited Bethesda Vision Center. I had driven by a lot and noticed the name of the shop on the way to and from work, so I did some googling to check out his reputation. Overall he seems well respected online, and so I gave him a shot. The eye test and fitting went well - no problems and everyone was nice - but then came the negotiation for contact lenses.
It was a little rocky at first due to some confusion about costs and the number of eye tests and contact lens evaluations one must have to keep buying contacts year after year. I assumed that one needed to get a prescription and then take that to the internet and order lenses for as long as they appeared to work. I was wrong. After working out some kinks, the doctor and I made a plan to do appointments every 2 years and had me sign a waiver to skip every other year. Plus he matched the online pricing - which made it easy to pickup my lenses at his shop.
For a moment it seemed like he was trying to tell me that he didn't want my business, but he seemed to change his mind halfway through the appointment.

  • Making the appointment was fine as well as the eye exam in regard to getting a prescription. However, I was quite annoyed that after bragging about their Northern Virginia location, I would have to go to either Maryland or DC to get glass/contacts (mainly concerned about contacts) as they did not have those services in Northern Virgnia. If I knew that ahead of time, I would have passed. Regarding my eye dryness (the main reason I chose to see an opthalmologist), the doctor immediately recommended putting plugs in my tear ducts to keep more tears in my eyes and it appeard it was the best idea because he does so many of these procedures. Well, I ended up going to an optometrist that was rated highly on Angies List. She was great and diagnosed my eye dryness as a condition that could be cleared up with a prescription of eye drops - two weeks later, no eye dryness and better yet, no plugs.
