    ClearChoice Dental
This is a long review; be sure to read it all. We contacted ClearChoice in January 2017. The waiting room looked like a TV late-night infomercialand so was the pitch. Everyone was soooo nice. We were apprehensive because the bottom line, after negotiations, was over $25,000! We got another bid from a different implant surgeon; that price was higher, but competitive. If you go for Clear Choice, be sure to negotiate. We got them to lower their price by almost $5,000. I received extraction of all my teeth from the lower jaw and provided a removable denture to supplement my natural teeth on the upper jaw. We signed understanding that the procedure would be complete and that the prosthesis I would be receive would permanent. By that I mean that no further dental work would be needed once the $25,000 procedure was complete. Only later did we learn that thats not true, not by a long shot. Much more work and expense was necessary, taking months and thousands of dollars more from other specialized dentists. We discovered this sad fact only after the flimsy upper denture snapped in two. Clear Choice repaired it, but revealed that the denture was only temporary and that the upper denture was provided as a courtesy because ClearChoice does not have the equipment or staff needed to manufacture permanent dentures. Eventually they quit fixing it and I lived on soup until we got someone else to finish the job. Both my wife and I were paying close attention when we signed up. Never did we hear the words temporary or courtesy. Their slick trained staff claimed we were fully informed when we signed, but I assure you that with $25,000 at stake we would have have researched how much additional dental work would be needed. There is absolutely no doubt that we were misled and effectively lied to about this matter. Of course the multipage and incomprehensible contract we signed was cleverly worded to keep them from getting sued for fraud. They have lots of lawyers. Dont make the same mistake we made. If you do chose to go with Clear Choice, make sure you understand how much extra money youll need in excess of $25,000 before you can chew again. PS I note that you cannot post a review on their website or on Google. Months later I discovered that the identical procedure can be performed locally in Silver Spring MD for $15,000 10,000 less than I paid at Clear Choice.

    Lakeforest Dental Associates
Their prices were much better than the other dentist that I have looked at. I drove really far out of my way just to get there to see how I was going to feel there, given the much better prices. I was not happy with them though. I thought the hygienist was nice. The front desk staff was nice. They are really good in terms of we are going to check with your insurance. We are going to find out what the limits are. I did not like the dentist. I felt that he was pushing more services on me. I was not comfortable with that. He saw some decay under a silver filling and he needed to pull it out and take a look at it. It would probably be a root canal. Then he set up an appointment for a root canal, which I thought was a little rough. I am a little anxious about that. I have another crown he said "how old is it? you should take it out and replace it." I told him price is a huge issue for me and I am looking at a lot of work. He said "do not worry about it, everybody uses the care credit." Which is great. It is credit and I do have to pay it off. It is not like it is money. I went back to my regular dentist about the root canal. First of all he could not use the x-rays that were emailed. He said that it was the one that he had been watching and said it might get worse. We need to leave it alone because, opening it up would make it worse. I was happy about that. He did a better check on that one. I felt he did a lot more to investigate what what was going on with that tooth than the Lake Forest dentist did. He reached a conclusion that seemed much more reasonable to me. He also found two other places that there were cavities. The other dentist over reacted to small things and my dentist pointed to the x-ray and said we need to take care of that. So, in the end I felt like the Lake Forest dentist pushed to many services on me and missed things that actually did need to be done. So, I was not really pleased with the Lake Forest dentist.

    Kristallis, Dr. Thanos T
I found Dr. Kristallis after consulting with my dental insurance provider, who told me he was on my plan. I mentioned his name to my dentist, who knew of him, and called him to talk about the Maryland bridge procedure. An x-ray of my upper teeth showed that the roots were too close together to do a dental implant procedure, so Dr. Kristallis agreed to perform the old-fashioned Maryland bridge I had done years ago. In the time between my call to the dental insurance company, and then finally getting around to scheduling an appointment with Kristallis, his office had stopped taking insurance. Anyway, I decided to go ahead with the procedure besides a very high price tag.

Kristallis is great, but he also has wonderful staff. Joe is his dental assistant, and Kim is his front office manager. They took the necessary impressions, and Dr. Kristallis offered to whiten my teeth for no additional charge. So, I had my teeth whitened and then returned a week or two later to start the procedure. On the first appointment, they removed the two old bridges, and then gave me a temporary and quot;invisalignand quot; retainer to keep my teeth in place. On the second appointment, Kristallis had everything ready to install the two bridges. Both he and Joe did this with a lot of skill, while putting me at ease. I did have to return later to have some adjustments on the bridge 'pontics', but now everything is perfect. Everybody says that cannot tell I have two false teeth in the front of my mouth.

I recommend Dr Kristallis for his expertise, his chair-side manner, and his excellent staff. If you need a prosthontic procedure done, look him up!
