    It was not a smooth process, but most of the blame is not attributable to Frontpoint. First, there were some malfunctioning pieces of equipment that had to be returned and my home's windows do not support that type of alarms that were initially ordered. Not to panic! The customer service patiently walks you through the set up and when we discovered that there was going to be a need to return some of the hardware, they did so at no cost to me and made sure that it was sent via 2 day Fedex. They also upgraded my window alarms at no cost. If you live in Montgomery County, be advised that there is additional paperwork there needs to be filled out and filed (along with $30) with the County to get a permit. I am still waiting on that permit so my Frontpoint system is technically not activated. That is extremely frustrating and something Frontpoint should work on with the County to streamline.

    We moved to Chevy Chase MD. I contacted three different security companies. By far Ultra Guard Security was the best. Andy was very knowable about security systems and not pushy at all. If looking for security system give them a call. You will be pleased.

    The technician assigned to this job introduced himself the previous day through an email. This introduction included his picture which I thought was a nice way of making the home owner comfortably especially when someone is coming in to the house and going through several parts of it.
    The technician arrived on time, explained everything he was doing and made sure that the system was working properly by testing it several times.  He then made me go through the system to make sure I had not forgotten any part of it.

    I felt the cost was reasonable.

    1st Security 495 LLC Bethesda Locksmith and Alarm
    Within a couple of minutes Jair responded to my enquiry, diagnosed the problem from photographs I sent him, and gave me an estimate of replacement cost should he be unable to repair the old and broken locks. Extremely punctual and conscientious, he phoned to update me on expected arrival time when delayed in unavoidable post-blizzard traffic, and this was much appreciated.
    Once he arrived  Jair quickly and skillfully replaced the broken locks , he is a consummate professional. Extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of home security I will soon be using him again. It is reassuring to find such an honest, reliable, fully licensed locksmith and I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him wholeheartedly.

    This is an update to the issue we had with this provider.  After writing our previous review, we were contacted by the company and they reimbursed us for the extra year of contract.    We were pleased to have our money returned, but realize that without our review on Angie's list it would not have happened.  Thank you Angie's List.  

    We installed the security system in 2014 and moved about a year later in 2015.  We contacted the service and were told that we had a two year contract and were obligated to pay for the services even though we sold our home and moved out of state.  So we continued to pay for the service for another year and just recently called to cancel.  We are now told we must pay 80% of another year since the contract was actually for 3 years.  
     We believe we were not fairly treated and were not given inaccurate information about the terms of the contract.  We would not recommend this company.

    1st Security did a very good job installing a wireless alarm system in our house after a remodeling. While the monthly monitoring price seems a little high, their service has been outstanding, even coming by on Saturday to add some extra equipment. While they can be a bit "overenthusiastic" during the sales process, don't let that put you off. They have been great to work with to date.

    Great system - outstanding service.  Base unit made unexpected sound after a few months of service.  SimpliSafe replaced it immediately at no cost.  I needed advice on one of the components in May and one of their technicians responded quickly with accurate information.  Monitoring system works as expected.

    I have never had such a miserable experience with a company in my life -- from the very beginning until today they have been HORRIBLE.
    Initial install took 8 hours and the technician failed to mention that all of the extra equipment he was installing would cost us $1,400 -- don't believe their nonsense claims about a system for $99. It is total bait and switch. My husband missed an entire day of work and then had to shell out cash. When I found out I called and told them to take it out of our house and give us our money back, but they said we would have to pay out a three year contract.
    The technician also made a completely inappropriate comment about my husband being in the military - he asked my husband if he is "messed up in the head" from deploying. What?!?!
    And the equipment has NEVER worked correctly.
    We have had FOUR service calls in 2 months and they can't get it right.
    Not to mention all four technicians have been ridiculously late for the appointments -- they give you a four hour window and they should up two hours after that.
    When I call customer service (as I have done about a dozen times now) they are rude and give you an attitude.
    I'm sorry I ever used this company.
    Learn from my mistakes, friends, and avoid Protect Your Home and ADT.
    One more note -- in the years I have been an Angie's List member I have only posted once or twice. I am posting this as a public service to help others avoid the unbelievable hassle and frustration we have endured. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS TERRIBLE, **TERRIBLE** COMPANY.
