Camera Repair reviews in Bethesda

The camera, which uses compact flash cards to store photographs, was unusable because its flash card reader had failed, apparently because of a bent pin. Since the camera was almost five years old, I considered replacing it, but when United Camera gave me a very good price in an online estimate, I packed it up and sent it off. As it happened, that was on Friday, June 29, just before the great storm -- the derecho of 2012 -- that downed power lines all over the Washington area.
United Camera received the package on July 3, and, in spite of the intervening holiday, repaired it, cleaned it, and got it back to me on July 10. It works perfectly and I couldn't be happier.

Couldn't have been better.  Penn's computer system had my equipment in its file, right down to the serial numbers and warranty information.  They immediately sent the lens to its manufacturer with a reasonable estimate as to when I could expect to see it again.  It was back in half the expected time and I received a call immediately.  Completely satisfied.

In middle of July, I took a Canon Digital Elph in to be repaired and was told I would get a repair estimate back in 2-3 weeks as to how much it would cost but that, if it would cost less than $200.00, they would just go ahead a fix it.  After a month, I called to check on the status and was told that no word had been received back yet.  After six weeks, I called again, and was told that no word had been received back yet.  After 8 weeks, I called and was told that, because of the Tsunami, they were having trouble getting parts in Japan but that someone would check on my order and call me back. After 3 months, I called and was told that the camera was there, had been repaired, and had actually been there for six weeks but they had written my number down incorrectly to let me know.  The next day, I went in the store to pick up my camera and not only was it NOT repaired but the store manager could not explain why or even decipher what the accompanying note from Canon even meant.  After waiting three months, NOTHING AT ALL had happened.  "Brian" offered to send it in again and see what happened.  I will NEVER go back to this store.  Unless you're buying expensive equipment, they could care less.

Based upon my overall experience with them I highly recommend them. They have eight locations in the DC. They provide absolutely the best advice. All the people there who deal with customers are very knowledgeable. I rate them high for quality of advice give by them. I bought two cameras from them as well. When I went to them they were extremely helpful. They are so good at what they do. I have gone back to them with questions and they answer my queries. Everybody there is exceptional. If they don’t have an answer to your questions, they will find somebody who can give you an answer. I have dealt with different people in two of their locations and all of them have been exceptionally good and helpful. I am very happy with the camera I bought from them. They searched for this particular camera as it was tough. They were outstanding.
