Window Cleaning reviews in Beltsville

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • We had R&J clean our windows several years ago and they provided good service. However, we contracted with them a few weeks ago to clean our exterior windows and screens again. Our experience with them this time has been a nightmare! They missed several appointments, with never a call to let us know that there was a problem. If you want reliable service, our recommendation is to CONTRACT WITH ANOTHER COMPANY. This is being written after they are a no show for the THIRD TIME IN THE LAST FIVE DAYS. M West

  • We purchased AngiesList Big Deals for gutter cleaning ($169) and window cleaning on ($149) for a total of $318 on 6/13/2018 from Mel's Power Washing & Window Cleaning. We have a one-story house with a detached garage. However, the company was not able to schedule an appointment until 7/2/2018. In the meantime, we washed some of our windows. On 7/2/2018, two workers arrived on time and cleaned the gutters on our home and the garage. I specified the four (4) basement windows and five (5) upper level windows to be cleaned (4 in the living room and the bathroom window). Clearly, we did not have the 15 windows as allowed by the AngiesList Big Deal. One of the workers balked at cleaning the bathroom window because it was "different." The window had been glazed by the manufacturer for privacy. I didn't feel like arguing with the worker, so I told him to forget about the bathroom window. It should be noted that window cleaners from other companies had no problem cleaning the bathroom window in the past. I noticed the workers climbed on a ladder to clean the outside of the windows. I thought this was because they did not understand that the windows unlock and tilt inward so a person does not have to be on the outside of the house to clean the exterior windows. Before I could tell the workers about the windows, one of the workers broke the window panes of one of a window in the living room (see attached photograph). The worker was outside on a ladder and (according to him) when he tried to pull the screen out, he broke the window panes. Our windows are double hung. I was so upset that I asked the workers to leave immediately. However, I relayed the credit card info because I did not want to risk the men becoming violent since I was home alone and my weapon was not readily available. The workers left before cleaning all the specified windows. They claimed they cleaned the outside of the four windows in the basement, but not the inside. I called Mel, the owner, but he insisted the broken window panes were my fault and that I didn't understand how his workers clean windows. We are unhappy about the broken window panes because we will most likely have to cancel our holiday plans if we cannot get a window repairer to come to our house immediately to repair the window panes. The estimated cost is $325--obviously, more than the cost of the gutter and window cleaning. Additionally, Mel's Power Washing overcharged my credit card by $50. We are working with Angie’s List to resolve the poor workmanship issue and the inflated credit card charge. We will never use this company again! Workers should know how to clean windows effectively and efficiently without breaking anything.

  • Two technicians arrived at least 30 minutes early without calling before the early arrival. This may it necessary for me to rearrange MY schedule. I don't believe I had the maximum number of windows as stated in the Angielist Big Deal so it was agreed the inner or outer glass of my security back door would be washed instead. I do not believe this was done, so I cleaned the interior and exterior security door glass myself. The technicians did a good job of cleaning the windows. I rated the overall service with a "B" because of the unscheduled early arrival and door glass not being cleaned. I would have preferred to rate this service with A- since I have employed the company in the past without any issues.

  • Two service persons showed up within the appointed time frame, introduced themselves, placed coverings over their shoes, and immediately began working.  I received the quality service I paid for and would gladly use this company again.

  • We are rehabbing the house to sell and have renovated most of the interior but did not replace the windows.  The dingy windows really looked badly next to the freshly painted rooms, new flooring, new kitchen/bathrooms, etc.  Once John worked his magic, the windows sparkle now and are a highlight of the house!  In addition, he was very flexible with us in scheduling which we appreciated.

    Definitely recommend.

  • Everything went very smoothly. They arrived on time and worked diligently.
I had my storm windows cleaned, as well, so they brought those into the various rooms to wipe them down. They set out towels on which they did their work, but I did see a little bit of soaking through on to the carpet here and there. It was only water at that point, so a little follow-up on my part took care of a few drips. My opinion is that it was a reasonable amount of homeowner follow-up for any sort of repair job. It was my choice; I do believe I could have pointed out the spots and they would have cleaned them up for me. My personal preference was to do a little bit of post-work clean-up myself. So, I repeat: I thought they did a really good job.

  • Two technicians arrived on time and began work promptly. The estimated time for the job completion was two hours, but the technicians actually completed the work in one hour. One person cleaned the interior and the other person cleaned the exterior of the windows. The windows were located on the street and the basement level. The most pleasant part was that I did not have to remove my window treatments and the technicians did not dislocate the alarm sensors on the windows. Overall, it was a fantastic experience price-wise and time-wise. I now have gleaming windows!

  • I purchased the big deal coupon for this service and it worked out very well. They called me to make the appointment. They were here and did the job thoroughly. Actually they did a little extra at the same price. They were very efficient and so it worked out really well. The price was good and they were really good as well. I will definitely use them again in the future if I need to.

  • Charles and Joe pulled up to my home several minutes before the appointment.  I was so glad to see them.  They both put covers over their shoes before entering my home.  Charles introduced himself and Joe to me.  I asked Charles where they wanted to start and he told me he would go upstairs and Joe would start outside on the picture window in the front of my home.  When they were ready to clean the windows in my living room, I explained to them that they would have to move my loveseat out from in front of the windows.  Charles and Joe moved the loveseat out and put it back in place when they were finished.  I went around my home and was surprised how clean my windows were.  I could see so clearly that it looked as if there was no glass in the windows.  I thanked them for the good job they had done and they left.
