    Aquaguard Waterproofing
The work seems to be good but after some serious flooding in my basement, I called to inquire whether they can come out and check again to make sure things are working well. They informed me that their "Lifetime" guarantee doesn't extend beyond 30 days if the house is purchased! Paperwork and guarantees and all are irrelevant. Shocking to see such a commitment can be ignored due to silly legalese after a $15000 bit of work. i would not recommend this company. Management is short sighted.

    Aquaguard Waterproofing
Had an appt scheduled for a waterproofing estimate. Appt was scheduled for 1pm. No one showed or called. At 2:30 pm, I get a call from a sales person from Aquaguard. Sales person said he was alerted (didn't say by whom) that the person scheduled to come to my home had not shown. He did not apologize for the missed appt. Instead, he said he would come and then proceeded to tell me about why he was the best person to talk to me, boasting about his credentials. He said he would be at my home in 45 minutes. TWO hours later he arrives. No call to say he was taking longer than expected and no apology upon arrival. He gives me a very long sales speil mostly focusing on why the other companies are no good. He talked for two and half hours even though I kept mentioning to him that we needed to wrap it up because I had other plans and my day had been severly altered from the time they told me. Even at almost 7pm, he continued to press the conversation along with low ball sales tactics (dropping the price substantially if I signed the same day). Later research also showed that some of the things he was criticizing other companies for (french drain systems), Aquaguard also uses. The lack of consideration for my time along with the sales tactics led to my decision to use another provider.

I found Innovative Home Improvements through Angie?s List.  Work was completed about a month before writing this review.  I got estimates from four ?A? rated contractors and met with each one.  The quote from Innovative was lowest, and we really clicked with Gary and Jenny, the principals of this relatively small company.  We received a detailed quote and a fuzzy drawing, but the work went very well and we are very pleased with the results.
The work included demolition of the old cabinets, stripping off old wall paper, painting, moving an electrical outlet, installing task lighting under the cabinets, and installing a new 220 v outlet.  We kept the existing flooring, which they covered with a cardboard like material which protected the flooring very well.  They assisted us with the selection of the cabinets, and worked with us to select an upgrade from their original quote.  They painted the kitchen and installed the cabinets, then worked with the granite subcontractor to install the granite counter tops.  We installed a ?wall? type oven under the counter, and a glass cook-top which was seamlessly installed in the granite countertop, over the oven (necessitating the new 220 v outlet).  They worked closely with us on the selection of the tile backsplash and were very flexible about making changes to the installation to give the kitchen a nice finished look.  Jenny has great taste and was very helpful with color and style selection.
They asked us to select and purchase the cook-top, oven and refrigerator.  They allowed us to keep the refrigerator in the kitchen during the renovation, which was a great convenience to us.  The workers were very efficient and cleaned up very well at the end of each day.  They protected the kitchen floor, and put down drop-cloths in the entry way to protect the carpet.  They were very careful and did a great job installing everything, even though it seemed that none of the exiting walls were plumb or square.  My only reservation about working with them was that they did not return calls or e-mail messages promptly.
At one point, we realized that we needed to make a change from the original cabinet layout.  Jenny came to the house within a few hours to review the progress of the installation, and they made the fairly significant change with no problems or changes in the price.
The project took about three weeks from start to finish.  The kitchen looks great and everything works well.  We are very pleased with the high quality of their craftsmanship and our beautiful new kitchen.  I would definitely hire them again for a similar project.

The contractor arrived on time for the appointment.  The workers moved the basement items then wrapped them to keep them dust free. The workers removed the old basement concrete and materials under the floor with jack hammers then hauled all of those material away.  Then a layer of pea gravel was installed along with piping around the perimeter of the foundation. Two sump pumps along with backup batteries were also installed.  After county inspection of work, the foundation floor was replaced with new concrete. All materials and supplies along with debris was hauled away so it was left in excellent condition.
The staff (on-site and office) explained each step of the process in a respectful manner while being professional and courteous during the entire job.

As new homeowners, it was rather scary trying to find someone to put a new bathroom in our house. We knew that it was going to be a lot of work because all of the plumbing had to be installed.
From the minute Sergei did his first consultation, we felt incredibly comfortable with the entire process. He was incredibly professional and gave us many choices. We worked together on the design and we gave us invaluable advice with which items to buy for the bathroom. We even ended up changing our minds midway through the process, and Sergei came up with new plans within the next day or so. During the process, the guys found out that one of our original pipes was leaking and that it was going to have to be replaced. Being that our house had been built in 1956, we expected that we might run into some hurdles. Sergei and his crew were able to fix the pipe and dig up more of our floor really quickly. He quoted us a reasonable price and the men had it finished within the week. We were in a bit of a time crunch for the bathroom because my wife is pregnant and we needed to have the work done before the baby arrived. The work was all done on time and we were very happy with the results. The bathroom actually turned out better than our master bathroom upstairs!
Sergei is incredibly great with communication- he typically gets back to you within the day if not sooner. We always felt like we could contribute and ask questions. We had a great experience with Modern Style Construction and they are now our go to folks for any renovations in our house.

    Heil Plumbing
I joined Angie?s List to find a local, family owned and operated plumbing company to replace my water service.  I don?t usually write reviews but am making an exception in this case because of the outstanding service, quality of workmanship and professionalism of their employees.  We had a slow leak prior to our main shut off valve and didn?t want to use the TV ad plumbers as they are expensive.  Someone has to pay for their advertising.  I got quotes from three companies and Heil?s was substantially less than the other two and required much less excavation.

I contacted Heil's Plumbing to request an estimate and had an appointment the next day.  Though I requested an estimate for the replacement of the service, new water line from meter to house, I was given two options by Ed Heil.  They could replace just the defective copper inside or they could replace the underground copper service line and the copper inside as well.  The inside only replacement option would have saved me a substantial amount of money by doing only what was immediately necessary.  But, because the house is 60 plus years old I opted for the full service replacement.

I received a contract via email which I signed and returned.  I was then given an appointment date and told that they would arrive between 7:00 and 7:30AM.  Three men arrived at 7:30, told me when they were going to shut the water off, and went about their work of replacing my water service.  At 10:45 the replacement was complete and our water was back on.  They completed their cleanup and left at 11:30.  I watched everything because I am a person who likes to know how everything is done and Joe Heil was very informative and explained the whole process to me.

How did they do it so fast you might ask?  Go to their web site, read about their company, especially about their ?Pullzit method? for water line replacement on their ?Our History? page and call them.  You?ll be glad you did, I was.  They are now our plumber of choice!

Carlos is the project manager and he did a great job. His workers do quality work. We disagreed with the pricing of a few things at times but in the end, everyone was happy. They are very fast too which was nice given our tight deadline..

    Prime Construction Corp
The workers were professional, friendly, and completed the work on schedule with a satisfactory clean-up.  There was a problem meeting the permitting requirements because of recent regulatory changes.  Prime did persist and eventually resolved those problems and completed the project.  I was extremely satisfied with their work.

    Value Dry Waterproofing
They really corrected the problems we were having. It was a stressful time because of the rough winter we had and there was water that came into the basement. We got 10% off for being Angie's List members. I can't remember the exact price but I believe it was somewhere between $4,000-8,000. It was reasonable compared to other estimates. They have come back since when we have had questions. They were prompt, careful with our house, and we were very satisfied with the work.

    JCabido Remodeling
They did a pretty good job as far as the ceiling and flooring were concerned and as far as the putting up a separate room for the air conditioning unit. They also attended to the walls. They put panels along the walls. I found them pretty good in everything except the panel work. In the panel work, they didn't know how to go around small obstacles. They didn't know how to finish the panel and make the room look good. There was nobody among them who knew how to patch small holes. The rest was fine. They came on time. They were very responsive. The quality was good. Their punctuality was fine.
