    Hall's Septic Services
Excellent and thorough work. Technician who did the work was focused on the job at hand but took time to explain what he was doing and what he was looking for when doing the inspection. He answered my questions and offered suggestions on proper way to best maintain the current good condition of our system.

    Chavis Enterprises LLC
I called Chavis Septic Systems when my plumber told me a had a bigger problem then a plugged line. Which I had once before. I called Chavis towards the end of the day, they would come out and take a look. Jeff came out and emptied the septic and discovered the bigger problem. He explained in depth how the entire system worked, as this was my first septic system. He was very nice and polite and took all the time that was needed to explain. He gave me a card with the phone number for his brother Ryan Frick. I immediately called, close or maybe after 5 p.m., he said Jeff had explained the issue and he could meet with me whenever I was available to discuss what needed to be done. I believe Ryan came out the next day, and discussed in depth what needed to be done. He had already been to the town to look over where the drainage field had to be and the depth, length, etc. I told him let's move forward with it. I mailed in the deposit and was scheduled for the next week. It would be a three day project. They came over Monday, first they emptied my tank and anything in the drywells. Construction started on the Monday and they put in full days work. I had an issue with the Fios wire (I was also having some landscaping done, and the landscapers cut theFIOS wire. Verizon came out to fix the connection, they installed a new line, but it was not buried. I had brought this to their attention, as I did not want this line cut again. They really looked out for that cable, when I would check to see how work was coming along, the wire was out of their way. I really appreciated the care they displayed. Tuesday, they came back and put in another full day. Wednesday, was the last day, so they had to put my yard back together. They graded the yard better then before. Ryan came out the next day and explained where everything was and how it worked. These guys were the best and I really appreciated all the communication I received in reference to this project and the overall understanding of how it worked.

Due to toilet back up plumber suggested trying to pump septic first. It had been 3 years since last pumped. After pumped, it revealed we had a clog between house and septic. Service was prompt and excellent. Recommended local plumber to snake pipe from house to septic tank (later today).

    Hall's Septic Services
The inspector was hired to perform an inspection of a septic system prior to the house going on the market.  According to the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) and the County, one portion of the inspection, that is standard practice for a proper inspection as taught in the required certified course that all licensed inspectors need to take, is that the distribution box must be exposed and the flow in this box must be evaluated for all of the drain fields connected.  This important step was not completed by the inspector who passed the system.  Subsequently, the potential buyer, having a inspection contingency, hired another company that did in fact test the flow within the distribution box and found that of the three pipes that were there, only one of them would take water at all.  The new inspector, stating that the system was compromised by over 2/3, concluded that the system was unacceptable and should be fixed.  This was transmitted back to the Hall's septic inspector.  The Hall's inspector came back out to the home, and according to his own test of the distribution box confirms that two of the three pipes have failed even under pressurized water (these systems are never pressurized in normal operation and this is not the way to test a pipe) .  Even after this, Hall's Septic system is saying that the system is still acceptable.  The results of both tests were discussed with the MDE representative and the county and the consensus is that this system is failing and will need to be fixed in direct contradiction to the results of the inspector from Hall's Septic Services.

UPDATE:  Mr. Scarborough can try and deflect all he wishes by calling me names but I stand behind all my facts.  I stuck to the facts and Mr. Scarborough counters with innuendo that he knows nothing about.  As to our 'strong-arm"ing the seller, Mr. Scarborough also, apparently, does not know what it would take to replace this system because he does not do that kind of work.  We gave the seller multiple chances to get a second opinion but he refused.  As we were taking all the risk, we negotiated the discount.  Multiple estimates ranged from $20K to a high of $40K because of those perk test results, also something that Mr. Scarborough knows nothing about.  The next door neighbor recently had his replaced for $20K and that was a few years ago.

They are awesome. They are really great! I tell everyone they have to call me first before they come because I have dogs. They left a bill in the door. It was like I didn't even know he was there. He was so great and courteous. I called and thanked them and let them know I would be paying them. It is hard to find trustworthy people like this. I've used them for about 8 years. They are very friendly.

    Earl Preston Jr Inc
Whiteford Septic has been supplying pump-out services to the house for many years.  Even before the repair work, they provided emergency pump-out services within about an hour of the initial trouble call on a Friday afternoon. (I believe there was a truck nearby.) Then they hand-held us through the county perk test. Had we not hired them for the work, we would have only owed for the services provided.
The septic repair required was one of the more complicated options possible, the old drain field had to be disabled, a reservoir and pump installed, an electric line, a trenched pipe 100 feet (?) to the front yard, and a new drain field in the front yard. We felt that the price was fair. They did the work over two days with minimal interference to tenants.  And, when an unusual rain storm the day after the installation washed out some of the dirt in critical areas, they graciously sent workers to rebuild around the caps and pipes.
Gene Preston supervised our project and was helpful, informative and responsive throughout. Other staff we encountered including the office staff are all great also.

Fantastic!  Timely, Friendly, Caring and Professional!
What an awesome group of folks at this company.  From the front office all through to the pump service, everyone treated me with such professionalism and care.  I am impressed.  Perfect job.  The customer service ladies were exceptionally patient with me since this was my first time and they went the extra mile to ensure that I was taken care of.  The Technician who came to my house to do the work was right on time, very patient as well and walked me through the whole process.  He also was very friendly, professional and thorough.  He  spent a few minutes with me ensuring that I understood the process and freed my mind of any worries.
I didn't mention names, but when you call them or they come to your home, you'll know who I am talking about.
I am usually suspicious to online reviews that are overly positive, but now I can't say enough good things about this team.  Please send your business their way; you will be very pleased.

    Home Land Septic Consulting
Tim showed up early and had both the well yield test and the septic inspection underway by the time I arrived. When it came time to discuss the results with me, he explained the whole system clearly, showed me where all the components were, and answered all of my questions knowledgeably. He mentioned to me a septic tank additive that he sells, but he said that we probably don't need it right now. This made me really trust his honesty. He also offered to answer any questions about septic maintenance in the future, even though his company doesn't actually do this work (i.e. he would just be answering questions to be helpful, rather to get more business). He gave me a bunch of helpful tips about both well and septic systems. He also obtained a stack of records from the county regarding the septic system and well on the property we are buying, and he gave me copies of these records. All in all, I would say he is extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. The listing realtor even commented that Tim is a really nice guy, in contrast to many of the septic guys out there.

    Home Land Septic Consulting
I called Home Land and they were able to schedule a septic inspection within days. I have to say, we were actually stunned by the great level of service Home Land provided. Tim showed up early and was very friendly right off the bat. He explained what the inspection would entail and walked us through the process. He pointed out where all the system parts were in our yard. He then went on to explain the system to us in great detail and even gave us a card with important do's and don'ts. Awesome! This was extremely helpful to us because we have never had a septic system before.

We felt that Tim went above and beyond the call of duty. We expected a brief overview but we left having a great working knowledge of the system and its components, helping us feel more comfortable with the house we were buying. He was extremely easy to talk to, which is important when you're discussing bathroom habits with a complete stranger! ;) He was very professional and hung out to answer the questions we had, though his explanations answered most of them before we could even ask. I would highly recommend Home Land to other home buyers.
