Of all the subcontracted parts of this job, this was easily in the top 2 in terms of the professionalism and competence of the company and their staff. First Choice was extremely patient and accommodating to us as we ended up acting as G. C. on our job after our original builder abandoned the job. Due to issues with other subs not doing their jobs in a timely or correct manner, we had to postpone the garage door installation numerous times but First Choice followed up regularly and never made us feel like an inconvenience. In fact, we felt like the most important customers they had, from beginning to end. The staff, beginning with Amanda and Tony and ending with Debbie and, very importantly, the installer, Matt, were some of the best people we have ever dealt with and we have been involved in renovations and new construction of our own homes for 35 years. When we were finally ready, Matt came out and did a walkthrough to make sure we were truly ready and all preparations were complete. He even scheduled our installation for a weekend day in order to accommodate our tight timeline. Matt's attention to detail was nothing short of phenomenal. The insyallation went extremely well and the doors look and operate great! Bottom line; we could not be more pleased with the product or the people from First Choice and we will not only recommend them to everyone we know, but we will also use them again when we build our next house. They are that good.

New garage door. They responded in a timely fashion, showed up on time, and performed the work in a professional manner just as they said. They removed the old door and cleaned up after themselves . I would definitely use them again.

Troy initially visited and wrote up a very professional contract, detailed what kind of materials would be used and what work was to be done. David, the brother of Troy, was the person in charge on the ground. He is a nice fellow and a hard worker. The crew was impressive and worked together efficiently. They finished the job by the end of the afternoon. David showed me what they had done and Troy called to let me know that they had photos of the top of the chimney to send. I was pleased with the quality of the work and the friendliness of the whole crew. This is the kind of company you hope for. They tell you what is to be done in detail, specify the materials, and bring a large crew to quickly do quality work. I had other quotes which were lower, but did not specify in detail what work was to be done and what materials would be used. The professionalism of the initial contract convinced me that this company would do a great job. I am completely satisfied.

Adam came out to give estimate for project, and then never actually gave an estimate. I would have not given them a bad rating except that if a project is to large for your company, you should be up front and honest with the customer rather than not contacting them again.

What a fantastic company! I contacted Brian at Rockspring Landscaping after reading all the great reviews. We were disappointed by another landscaper so I was careful this time. Literally an hour after I called he showed up to survey our property and discuss the project. A few days later I received a detailed proposal. Throughout the process Brian was responsive and despite weather delays kept us in the loop with follow up emails and phone calls. He arrived a few days early to begin the project and not only finished early but did a lot of extra work not in the proposal which was extraordinary. Overall the work was amazing. Brian is a hands on owner and was on site for most of the 4-5 days. The stone he suggested looks amazing and is the perfect accent border for our plant beds. Without our prompting his crew trimmed back 3 huge trees in our backyard creating more sunlight. The trees now look incredible. We plan on using his company for other projects and will definitely recommend to our neighbors, family and friends. If you want a dedicated, professional and honest landscaper call Rockspring Landscaping!

We had an entire new garage door opener installed along with a keypad for outside. We chose one of the higher end models for the battery backup. John was great again. He fixed our issue right away, but we ended up replacing the opener anyway. He didn't force us into the purchase, in fact he recommended waiting until the current opener died. My wife and I opted to replace it since we have had trouble in the past, just so we don't have to worry about it anymore. Work was completed quickly and John cleaned up the area as if he had never been there. We would recommend Bob's and would use them again in the future if needed.

Ron and his coworker, Greg, were a pleasure to work with. They spent four days at my house completing a long list of repairs that were needed both inside and out. They arrived each day on time and worked consistently throughout the day. They even completed the outside jobs in 95+ degree heat without complaint. Upon completion of each task, I was asked to inspect the work to be sure it was to my satisfaction, which it always was. Their workmanship is outstanding. Just as important, I felt completely comfortable with both Ron and Greg in my home. They were friendly, professional, and respectful. One of the best experiences I have ever had with contractors!

I would like to caveat anything I say here by simply stating that the pictures below are, in fact, the work that was completed by Solid Brick Contracting. If you feel the quality of work displayed in these pictures is professional, then you can ignore this review, but I do recommend reading because their responsiveness after I paid for the job in full was essentially nonexistent. This may concern you if you have similar issues in the beginning or in a year from now if you have a warranty issue. After the job was complete and I paid in full (my mistake), I contacted Solid Brick Contracting on 5/3/2018 via email. To date (6/19/2018), they have not even come out to look at the issues, let alone address them. They have made 4 attempts to schedule something, but they never followed through or cancelled. My main issue is with the brick work around the porch. I actually mentioned some of the issues below to Solid Brick Contracting before I paid. They said that the pressure washing and cleaning would address the issue regarding the mortar residue and the mortar joint shaping, uniformity and smoothness. I did find this hard to believe, but I gave it a chance. My mistake was really not allowing it to dry overnight before paying him because it was still wet when I came home so it made everything look uniform. (Note: Just as a side note, notice that a lot of the pictures in the reviews on various sites show it wet. This hides a lot of the imperfections and I assume that is why they do it.) While the pressure washing did remove a bit of the mortar residue, it did very little if anything for the uniformity and smoothness of the shaping of the mortar joints. As I see it, here are the issues with the brick work still: 1) There is still a lot mortar residue on the surface of the bricks around the whole porch. 2) There is significant color variation in the mortar joint. 3) The brick pattern is not consistent. (I don’t know why I didn’t notice that before I paid, but I didn’t). The top row on the left side and one of the rows on the right side does not match the offset pattern of all of the other brick work. 4) The bricks are not level, plum, or laid flat. The surface looks jagged as you can see. 5) The color of bricks also do not match, they replaced 3 bricks in the bottom row on the left side. You can clearly see which ones they are. 6) The difference in the widths of the mortar joints in general on the brick around the porch is significant. They should all be uniform in width. 7) The mortar joints themselves should be smooth and shaped evenly through the entirely of the work. They are clearly not. Oddly enough, the brick work on the border of the walkway is relatively fine. I am not sure what happened on the porch. It is such poor craftsmanship that I cannot accept it. I don’t see any other option other than completely removing the brick border on the porch and redoing. In addition to the brick work, they also left A LOT of mortar residue on my concrete driveway and left the debris from the excavation in my backyard. If it was clean fill, I would not mind, but it ended up being almost all rock and pebbles. Rock up to 4” or 5” in diameter and A LOT of it. I cannot even run over that area with my lawnmower or it will damage it. I asked him to address this before I paid them and it appears they didn’t do it or did a poor job doing it. I should have checked that before I paid, but I just didn’t. There were a few other things not done to contract, but I did not mention them here, but may decide to as the resolution to these issues progress. Prior to being paid in full, Solid Brick Contract was quite responsive, fair in price, punctual, and professional and I would have rated them highly in these categories if they didn’t completely ignore my concerns after I paid them. This is the true test of a professional contractor in my opinion and I am sure others would agree. These are the picture of the work they did and they did essentially become unresponsive after I paid. This IS a HUGE flag if you are considering to hire them regardless of whether you think I am picky. They didn’t even come to my house to look at the issues yet, let alone address them. Good luck if you choose to go with this company, but I highly recommend going elsewhere.

We have a very long driveway so, due to financial concerns, we divided up the work into 3 sections, occurring over many years. Barnes paved all 3 parcels, with the 3rd being done last week. The 2/3 that were previously done have held up well through snow plowing, winter freezing and summer heat. Barnes was able to get this final part done within 2 weeks of my call. Paving is expensive, I'm glad that I'm all done with it but, if ever necessary, I would not hesitate to call Barnes again.

We have a relatively complex driveway with a turnaround, and side garages. The driveway is sloped, and there were 4 different places plus a trench where it had to precise to meed the items. VERY SATISFIED.
